Thanks so much for sharing this! I've been losing my mind a little trying to find as sustainable and eco-friendly a type of clay I possibly can. It's comforting knowing I might be able to get more use of unfinished works later on.
Most definitely, I often make things, don’t seal them and then reuse if I know I’m not going to keep the item long or if I’m just creating for fun and not to keep the final item and don’t tell anyone but I often filter the kids bits and pieces and recycle them too as they love the process much more too, I do obviously keep their special ones but we can’t keep everything!!! ♻️ thanks and best of luck 💚
I never thought of THAT cool trick..., thanks Sarah!!! 😎😎😎 What I HAVE tried is kinda' cool... Instead of just breaking an old project into pieces, I have run mine over an old metal box grater and collected the shreds, added boiling water and turned it into slip. If you do a lot of sanding on your projects, do it over a bowl or something else to catch the dust - Again, add boiling water and SHAZAM.., you've made slip! HOPE you have an awesome week and as always, thanks for another great video!!! 💚 💛 💜
I hope you try it. Thanks great tips. I've tried catching the dust when it's not windy outside but I always find I have little bits of sandpaper in with it too, so not useable, great you can use it, thank you 💜
Thank you so much Sarah, I really really enjoyed watching you recycle your air dried clay. It’s really really amazing......how it transforms. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Such an amazing hack ! I have some failed air dry clay projects and I really didn't want to throw them but this is the perfect way to recycle them, thank you 💕
I have so many air dry clay projects that. Did nooooot come out as I imagined. You Have definitely enlightened me and helped me tremendously.👍👍👍👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Sarah I have a project that didn’t work out but I have painted it with an air brush using thinned down airbrush paint. Will this process of re hydrating work do you think with air dry clay that has been painted ? really appreciate your videos and tutorials, thank you
Is it stuck to a porous surface? It will try to stick to a porous surface, but once fully dry would lift straight off a smooth non porous surface. I’d get something like a table knife and try to get the flat of it under it, best of luck, let me know how you get on ❤️
It’s always worth doing the same with it in a separate container from the rest and see what happens, in the hope that the paint and sealant breaks down too, I’d try it
Hi, we boil the water to clean it, so it does not need to be boiling or hot when you use it no, although a bit of warmth could speed up the process, it's not necessary. Best of luck 😊
Hi Rosie, in this video ua-cam.com/video/kSdINQ8KGBI/v-deo.html I repair a broken piece. Here is my air dry clay slip video too (it's slip not slib!) ua-cam.com/video/rAVO7i68c4k/v-deo.html I really hope you get it fixed, thank you, Sarah
I hope it worked out for you, I’ve been saving lots up to do a big batch together, even though I have plenty of fresh packets I still have to keep recycling the old ❤️
That's all very nice and well, however,... I had a 500 gram packet, used just a little bit and because of circumstances I forgot all about it. Had it wrapped up nice and securely, however not preventing it from hardening over time. About a year later I rediscovered it and threw the solid chunck in a fitting container... to forget about it again. About two months later I mushed it up with a putty knife and squished it into a letter mold... wish me luck?
Truly amazing, thought my failed projects were destined for the garbage can😲 Thankyou!!🥳
Amazing, so glad, thank you
Brilliant! This means if my lump of unused clay starts to dry out, I can "re-constitute" it and never have to throw it away!
Hopefully yes, seal it in a bag with a little water I would
this is very helpful! as a beginner I do have a lot of scrapped projects thank you so much!
I'm so glad, thank you
Love that frame of mind. I hate waste. Thank you for educating us.
I love to recycle.....anything and everything ❤️

You are such a genius! What a great idea and fantastic for #Earthday !
Thank you so much! Hopefully bringing the little pot video to you soon, would you like to see?
@@RedRockingBird of course! Can’t wait 🥳
@@Studio7t7 coming out today 2pm BST YAYYYYY (managed to get the video finished late last night!)
Could you potentially leave it in the jar in that pasty form to use as an adhesive for future air dry clay projects?
yes most definitely, like I did in the air dry clay slip video: ua-cam.com/video/rAVO7i68c4k/v-deo.html thanks
Brilliant!
Thank you 😊
What is the best way to clean the jar after?
Remove the loose bit and put in bin or save then soak in warm water
Amazing, can I do this with unused clay that has dried up ? Love your videos, lots of inspiration and you have such a relaxing voice 🤩🥰
You sure can yes, if solid I’d put in a bag with a little water for a few days and see what happens 🪄🤩
Hi Sarah I have a project that didn’t work out but I have painted it with an air brush using thinned down airbrush paint. Will this process of re hydrating work do you think with air dry clay that has been painted ? really appreciate your videos and tutorials, thank you
Hi, Depends on the type of air brush paint, if it really is ruined, then no harm in trying it out ☺️🌸 thanks for watching, I hope you give it a whirl
Does this work for jovi air dry clay?
I’ve not used Jovi, but it should do yes
Brilliant. Thank you
You're very welcome, and thank you
Can you do this with crayola air dry clay, and can it still work after it dried for 3 days
Yes sure, I don’t use crayola, but it still soaks up the water the same
thank you
You’re very welcome ☺️
Great video. Thank you for uploading.
🌲🌝☘️
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you ❤️✨
1 question . If it is fully dry like rock and stucked on a surface then what can I do 😭😭😭
Is it stuck to a porous surface? It will try to stick to a porous surface, but once fully dry would lift straight off a smooth non porous surface.
I’d get something like a table knife and try to get the flat of it under it, best of luck, let me know how you get on ❤️
Wow amazing
Thank you 💜
For how much time we have to put it in the boiled water
Pls tell the time duration.
Keep turning it and manipulating it until it comes back to a good consistency
You are amazing dear 💕💕💕
I always support my friends,
Stay connected 👍👍👍
Thank you 💕
Is it possible in wallputty clay?
I’m not sure, I’m not familiar with this, I’d always give anything a try 😊
Thank you for this! I'm doing this now! Is there anyway to recycle the clay if it's been painted oe sealed or are those doomed to the garbage??
It’s always worth doing the same with it in a separate container from the rest and see what happens, in the hope that the paint and sealant breaks down too, I’d try it
@@RedRockingBird I'll give it a go and let you know what happens!
@@ke11yk yes please do, I’ll try it soon too 😊
hi really great video!! but i need to ask if the original hot water is cooled down should i replace it with more hot water or leave it be?

What glue can I use to repair the gift my grandson is making for his Mom? It is not painted yet. Thank You!

Rosie, in this video ua-cam.com/video/kSdINQ8KGBI/v-deo.html it's after about 5.30 minutes
Do we need hot water??
Hi, it doesn’t need to be hot, but it can be warm but cold also fine
Can I recycle the same if the clay was painted and varnished??? Great video, thank you!! ♥
It should be the bare dry clay to work well. Thank you 😊
Amazing video 👍💯
Thank you 👍
Im going to try this in the morning, most of my clay dried up. I hope that it works

My clay is stuck in the frame please suggest me to take it out
Hi, what kind of frame?
@@RedRockingBird baby thumb print wooden frame i was about to print but couldn't so it is so dry
A good way to reuse and repurpose failed pieces
Thank you, glad you found it useful
Hey i did this but then they all became very lumpy and kept sticking to my palm
Needs soaking for longer I guess and then kneading, some people enjoy the process but if not, it’s good you tried 😁❤️
😮 woww
💕 glad you like, thank you
Hi,
The air dry clay that I use doesn't seem to even soften even if left for many days. It becomes rock hard.
regular air dry clay will soften in water with a lid on and no additives, polymer clay or light clay will not
@@RedRockingBird can I use homemade air dry clay?
My dry clay I broke up dose not seem to become clay it's just thick slip
Leave it longer to dry and keep stirring, the moisture had to eventually evaporate some more
It's been out for like 10days
That's all very nice and well, however,...
