Just wrapped up the final recording last night, enjoyed the journey so much. Some of my favorite COD gameplay missions so far. Looking forward to the rest
It's cool to see so many UA-cam channels playing through Call of Duty: World at War. Years ago, I'd say that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered was the first game new players would jump into, thanks to the Modern Warfare (2019) reboot. But now, with Black Ops 6 releasing this week, we've seen a wave of channels playing through the Black Ops series (mostly Black Ops 1 and Cold War) so they can jump into Black Ops 6 with knowledge of the past games. However, they often skipped World at War, as they naturally had no idea it was even connected.
You are probably the 5th person that i've seen recently play World at War which is certainly a pleasant surprise. It's my personal favorite from the franchise and I'm looking forward to seeing you experience it for the first time!
i know for myself I was finally inspired because I want to jump into BO6 and am usually just a multiplayer girlie but i'd heard good things about the campaigns so thought it would be fun to jump into them
1:17:15 Fun fact: Even though U.S and Soviet Union had deep distrust and ideological differences, there was actually an alliance between the U.S and USSR formed between 1941-1945. The primary goal was to defeat Nazi Germany. We also had a Lend-Lease program, providing military supplies to the Soviet Union during the war to support Soviet war efforts.
She really dissed one of the most loved and iconic weapons, the M1 Garand. 6:05 I believe the reason they didn’t have detachable magazines for the M1 Garand during WW2 is because they wanted soldiers to be able to carry more ammunition for less weight.
John Garand’s first semi automatic rifle prototype used modified BAR magazines (the weapon used in “Hard Landing”, which predates the Garand by a decade). They knew box magazines were a thing and while the BAR magazine isn’t perfect, the US knew detachable box magazines were a thing. I’ve heard many reasons why the Garand wasn’t box fed from the start (because it really could’ve been, the technology clearly existed), but the reason I think they didn’t have it on there was purely due to Army doctrine at the time. At the time the Garand was being developed, the only soldiers who had experienced using detachable magazines of any sort were typically light machine gunners (guys that operated things like the Lewis Gun LMG, the CSRG Chauchat, the Madsen LMG, and the BAR). Rifleman at the time were issued clips, even rifles with detachable box magazines like the Lee Enfield weren’t issued with extra magazines. You had one magazine loaded in the gun and loaded it via stripper or en bloc clip. It’s a logistical thing. At the time, it’s easier to pass out clips than make detachable box magazines. Now, by WWII, that doctrine had obviously changed and the Garand was tested with a box magazine in 1944. But, because it was designed in the 1920s, it has a lot of characteristics of a 1920s firearm.
@@LIPPSMACKER the Garand was an absolute game changer on the battlefield. Despite what CoD may depict, most German soldiers are armed with Kar98k bolt action rifles. A solid rifle with a reliable action, but it’s slow to operate. The Japanese Arisaka is the same way, and they also never issued out a semi automatic rifle in large quantities. The Garand, it’s semi automatic. You don’t need to disturb your aim to cycle a bolt, the gun does it for you. No other nation fielded a semi automatic rifle on the scale of the USA in WWII. Yes, the Germans and Soviets had their own designs (the SVT40 and Gewehr 43, which are available in game), but the Garand was by far the most numerous semi automatic and the most reliable. ~800,000 Gewehr 43s were made, ~1 million SVT40s were made, -4 million M1 Garands were made. I own a Garand, they are fantastic firearms, heavy, but great handling and immaculate iron sights. I’ve also shot an SVT40. Cool gun, but also a longer and hefty gun with worse sights compared to the Garand. Gewehr 43s suck IRL. They were plagued with manufacturing issues and because a bunch were made off of German camp laborers, there was actually sabotage going on in the manufacture of these guns. So some of them may not be made to proper spec and can cause minor to possibly catastrophic damage.
Yeah the Japanese were EXCELLENT with camouflage skills and ambushing. Their snipers would hide in the trees as well as tie themselves the trees so they could sleep, which is why when you shoot them, they would just dangle from the tree.
woah! Yeah they did a good job of bringing that reality into the game experience imo. there's a really funny death in ep 2 where i spawn in on top of someone hiding after dying and immediately die to them. Ep 2 goes live tomorrow!
36:49 first person I've seen completely ignore Roebuck telling them to target the tanks with rockets. 54:03 how you take down the tanks is by getting on the Triple 25 like Roebuck told you to do. In COD campaigns your team tells you what to do, listen to them and you won't die as much and will actually do what the mission calls for.
cant wait to watch this, world at war is such an amazing game, it amazes me to this day they used real footage for both World at war & Black ops 1 and i believe they have real execution footage in a cutscene or 2 in this game. it was just truly different and really shows the horrors of war especially enlightening it to those who were too young to be playing like most of us🤣
@@LIPPSMACKER i dont really remember when i played this but i know my dad got me cod 3 when i was 7 or 8 and shortly after i played world at war, i believe i completed every cod campaign created before 2013 by the time i was 10 or 11. now im 19, this game literally raised me😂
Hi Lipps! New sub here! I’m happy to see you play World At War. This is my favorite call of duty and one of my favorite games that came out in 2008. Alongside GTA 4. 😊. And to let you know, I have two grandpas that served in both theaters of ww2. Pacific and European. They made it through and they are still here. But this game alongside the older call of duty games brings them back to those days.
yay welcome in!! GTA4 is one of my favorite games. Niko is my favorite GTA character so if you haven't checked out that playlist you may have fun going down the GTA journey with me too :)
1:07:58 Did you remember your character at that moment? Pvt. Petrenko? Is he fimiliar to you? Remember Black Ops 1... Dimitri Petrenko.. Reznov's best friend.. He died in front of Reznov.. At the room, he died by Nova 6 gas.. Remember? That is your character Dimitri Petrenko..
I SCREWED UP AND MISSED IT! I had to record everything thru November content by last week because i'm en route to London and won't have a set up for the first of 4 months there. But I did stay for the end of BOPS 2 credits because of this comment... so thank you but also sad to have missed the WaW after credits
Did you do a self challenge of never or only seldomly switching from a sniper rifle to an smg or assault rifle? I watched the beginning of the soviet part of this video and checked some later scenes on that out, you played sniper practically the whole time, with in hordes practically in front even. Pretty hardcore playing style.
You missed something. The human centipede 2 has a deleted scene for how disturbing it was. However, there is a FULL COLOR non age restricted video on youtube. React to it. It's called (The Human Centipede 2 Baby Crushing Scene Full Color)
Little fact for you. At the beginning, at the end of the first mission you’ll notice a couple friendly marines being left behind on the island. This is because 9 marines were lost and left behind on the actual raid on Makin atoll. They were captured by Japanese forces, interrogated and beheaded.
@@LIPPSMACKERthe Makin raid in real life never was about resucing POWs. It was to create a diversionary attack to draw forces off of Guadalcanal. Kiefer Sutherland as Sgt Roebuck is one of Treyarch's best castings, along with Gary Oldman as Reznov, great respectful uses of known talent.

World at War still remains as one of the darkest and bloodiest Call of Duty games ever made.
