I made it all the way. I wasn’t so sure about the pink piece that was covering all of the beautiful floral on the front cover. But when you added all the little pieces, it came back to life and looked beautiful. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
I agree with that - I thought the original floral was too beautiful to cover up (no pun intended). I liked the finished result, but that first sheet could have been use somewhere else - just the process, I guess!
I’m surprised at how fast this goes when you don’t spend time trying to decide which parts of the pages you want to have showing on your final book. This is stress free and makes it faster to completion.
I did make it all the way through - and I absolutely love the album. More than once, I said "oh, no!" only to say a little later, "amazing!" This really was a lesson to me, and very liberating! I have a lot of beautiful patterned papers to cut! 😁
May May, I can not tell you how much this video you did will impact my album making! Oh My! I have sat on the constructed album cover and pages and the pile of designer papers not being able to "commit" with glue what page gets what print. I will cut and arrange them loosely for days revisiting my choices and "sleeping on it" for weeks before affixing them. This is a game changer! Thank you!
Such a gorgeous album, Maymay!!! I absolutely, LOVE how it turned out!! It was such a "WOW" moment for me at the end!! And yes, I stayed all the way....like always! I do have a tiny tip for you, regarding the paper tearing. I have learned from other channels....If you want white showing, you would tear the paper that's in your right hand, upwards. And if you do not want the white showing, you tear the paper in your right hand, downwards. I hope this makes sense. It works every time. I usually only want the white showing whenever I'm creating vintage journals, using tea dyed paper. Then whenever it's distressed with vintage photo ink, it looks very aged. Thanks for the FUN!! Hugs 💞 Suzy xx
I made it all the way! Almost lost me at the tearing of the pink paper, I was yelling “no!” But the end result is fabulous. I absolutely love it! I will definitely be trying this. (I especially like the way the cover ended !)
Sometimes I want to feel like I have a fast project where I can see a finished result and feel super productive. Also, sometimes I’m not feeling as creative from a blank page standpoint but I want to do something creative. This is a great method for those times. There are other times that I really do want to do fussy design stuff. So, this is going to really depends on my mood I think. That said, I’ve been hoarding papers and not using them. I absolutely need to go through and create. This would be a great tool to do that and have lots of results to show. Finally, while some of us spend hours and hours in all the tiny design details, I think that many recipients don’t see all that detail work. So, this kind of method really allows me to create some thing handmade and nice to gift those people who would not understand or be appreciative of all the fussy details. Thanks for continuing to push the envelope! And i made it all the way! Lol
Yes, I'm shocked as to how this has turned out Maymay! It's gorgeous. I stayed for the entire duration. I'm amazed. Now it's to get the gumption to give it a try. Be well, be safe & TYFS
Thanks for your "You get what you get" album idea. I can easily use this on my Brenda albums. I still make about 1 a month along with cards & junk journals. This idea will speed things up. 🥳
I am guilty of stressing over cutting images so much that I now have an embarrassing amount of 12 x 12 papers that I don't use. I make cards for charity and this will let me make sets without the hours of staring at the papers without actually making anything. Thank you MayMay x
I love this album it is awesome and the methodology behind it is very quite simple which is nice but the fact that you said you get what you get and you don't pitch a fit that should be a t-shirt. I made it all the way.
Wow, just wow. Years ago I would spend hours picking out paper from various packs. Finally I figured out that all the papers in a pack coordinated with each other! I still spent way too long trying to figure it out. Thank you for sharing this with us MayMay. You are so awesome!
I made it all the way, Maymay! Your mystery album turned out really pretty. I know I'd love to get it as a gift. 😊 I just recently became one of your 400k this last week and I'm having such a good time with you! Finding lots of inspiration and helpful hints. I'm thinking I might have to make a few (to start) albums for my finished crochet & knitting project photos, pattern tweaks, supply lists and other project info. 🤟💜
I made it all the way!! Watched the replay. I love the mystery cutting!! I have so much cardstock that I need to use - this would be a great way to do that. I think too much about choosing and cutting 12 x 12 papers and images. Thank you Maymay for pushing me outside of my comfort zone and challenging my creativity!! 💕 Beautiful album!!
I’m loving this technique!! I can get absolutely polarized by deciding what/where to cut beautiful paper….especially Mintay. Thanks for taking the plunge for me and giving me back stress-free crafting!
This mystery album is absolutely stunning! I am so glad you showed me not to be afraid of 12 x 12 paper. I mostly make greeting cards, but you have inspired me to try making a mystery album.
Yay! I made it all the way! Love love love your album! I think the Mintay designers are so talented, that it makes the “mystery” part easier! Thanks MayMay!!
I wasn’t worried until you added the pink on the cover. I thought, “Oh no! She covered that beautiful paper!” BUT it turned out beautifully. Be sure to wear some pink, yellow and green on your cruise so that your photos look good on that paper. 😉 🛳
This whole concept is game changing. And the pinch on the pockets is worth the price of admission in itself. Love it all. The torn cover is great. I made it all the way.
Love the process! Saves a lot of brain cells for those of us who are perfectionistic! I have done a ton of scrapbooking! Love this so much! I have actually sewn 12x12” paper (2 pages back to back) on three sides leaving a huge pocket at the top. Another tip I have is I have collage pictures developed (usually at Walmart, quite affordable). Then I cut them apart and have room for all sizes of smaller pictures. Seems that would work great for the smaller than 12x12 pages that I usually make. I made it to the end. Love, love, love!
I have been reviewing your vids and I am SOOOO glad to have found THIS one! I find that "mystery" pages are wonderful! Get a paper pad you like, and BAM! No stress. Truly LOVE this way of scrapping!!
Definitely takes the angst out of deciding where to cut and which side to use. Such a pleasant surprise when you cut and then turn over to see what you got.
So surprised how pretty this turned out. I would of never thought to do it this way. I always think very hard about what papers to use together. I am going to try this. Thank you for sharing ❤ 😊
Maymay this is so Beautiful!! I think I can do it. I did the Winter fun folio with you earlier this year and I totally enjoyed it! And boy was it out of my comfort zone! I am first and for most a "UA-cam taught" card maker🙃 and that class just spoke to me. But first I had to get over hoarding paper, never heard of that have ya? I am happy to say the the kit I am now subscribed to has cured me of that fairly well. I started back in 2010 and I have made more this year than ever. Tfs.
Not nervous at all! Mintay is so beautiful no matter what part of the paper you use. I just have a hard time cutting it apart, period! I just want to sit and look at the papers! LOL
Have to say I giggled my way through the video. Tearing is one of my favourite techniques and distressing edges and you clearly didn’t feel comfortable! What a fun album🤩💖
I'm shocked and amazed. I saw the mystery card video and was blown away. How did you ever think to do it upside-down 🤔. I stress about design paper and cutting it just right. You have opened my eyes.
I realize this video was done 2 yrs ago but I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I love when you do the blind cutting of your paper. This turned out beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤ 😊 PS I've been making your folios.
I love this idea. I was so in love with the cards you did. So much I made over 50 cards and made a gift set for my daughter and her mother in law for Mother’s Day. Now they are ready for card giving. I and sooooo do the book as soon as I get my book to decorate.
Wow! Wow! and Wow! I made it all the way through. I have hoarded so many papers and this is the best solution I have ever seen. This and the cards. Thank you so much.
I made it all the way. I wasn’t so sure about the pink piece that was covering all of the beautiful floral on the front cover. But when you added all the little pieces, it came back to life and looked beautiful. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

I stayed for the duration! Minty is the best for mystery ideas....cards and albums. This was beautiful. Loved the paper also!!

Mintay paper is so well coordinated, I don't think you could go wrong. It's beautiful no matter what.

❤ Maymay!!!!! You are a genius! Your surprise designs are amazingly incredible! Thank you for such a great idea! 💡 ❤❤❤❤
Shocked and absolutely impressed! This may be the answer to my paper hoarding and anxiety. Thank you! 🙏🏽
Inspiring

Mintay papers are my absolute FAVORITE!
I’ve been so impressed by this process, both the cards and the album, it’s absolutely beautiful. I think it takes off the pressure.
Uh, oh! Maymay is scrapbooking!
Love it, and I made it all the way!
Thanks for your "You get what you get" album idea. I can easily use this on my Brenda albums. I still make about 1 a month along with cards & junk journals. This idea will speed things up. 🥳
Nice album. Loved the process.
I made it all the way through even though I usually don't make albums. It did me some ideas for family reunions.
I made it all the way it’s beautiful I love it. You are so talented.
Loving how this is turning out. I want to make a mystery album now.
I made it all the way
I want to give this more than a thumbs up.

It turned out awesome!! Let the paper do the work!! Love it!!!!!!!😎😎😎

I must admit. After the 6” cut I might have looked to see if I wanted the top 8” or the bottom 8”
Given she had some duplicate papers, I expected some to be cut from the bottom and was surprised they weren’t.
Such a great idea to worry less about cutting all our beautiful papers! And I love the layering on the front cover too!
I made it all the way, Maymay! Your mystery album turned out really pretty. I know I'd love to get it as a gift. 😊

Good job MayMay. It was fun watching someone else be brave. Lol. I enjoyed watching how beautiful it turned out.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I love it. I would’ve never known. I’m going to learn to be brave like Maymay. Those papers sell the idea. So clever.
At the end! Simply amazing ❤️ Who would have thought? A must try. I struggle with paper placements. This takes all the guessing out. Gorgeous!
What a totally neat technique! Takes the thinking about the designs right out of the quotient.
Made it all the way. I wasn't sure about the pink piece on the cover, but it worked. This album is gorgeous!! Thanks, Maymay.

Beautiful paper! I don't usually lean to paper with so much pink. But these are really pretty!
I made it all the way! I love it! Going to try one for a wedding gift! Thanks for showing such beautiful crafting.
