You can also take your white scraps and stamp a bunch of sentiments that you use the most. Birthday, thank you, hello, thinking of you, sympathy, etc. keep them in a baggie or something, then when you need a card, you can pick a card and a sentiment, put them together and put the door.
This was one of the best card videos Ive seen!! Today I was in my craft space looking at scraps….thats it, just looking. Then I decided to clean and tipped my first spill of embossing powder. Yowza! Mess! Wish I’d have seen this video earlier!!!!! Yes, Id like to see a bookmarks & tags video from scraps too.
I like to keep a little tub or box of sentiments. Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, sympathy, Hi, Hello, and Thinking of You are all great sentiments to make ahead of time. when you aren’t feeling crafty but want to make something. Then match with cards from your stash as needed.
Great idea! I would ❤ to see other projects from your scraps. More solid cardstock, please, since that's what I have the most of in my scraps. Thanks 😊
Wow! You really have a good eye (and experience😊) for figuring out what works together! I like the card with the black base and red gingham on the front.
"As many as", overwhelmes me because it requires a chunk of time that I don't have. And so I don't do anything with my ever growing pile of scraps ! "Make as many as I have time to make", sounds much more doable. It's tips like that, that keep me coming back for more. I have no doubt you will hit 400K 🤗
Such a refreshing and relaxed video, I enjoyed it. Loved how you breakdown the purpose for each scrap. I looked at my scraps in a different way , separating by color for embellisments, punches ,etc. Now I will try the mat , the bookmark.. Yes please, I would like to do the tags and bookmarks Thank for another great video.
😁 thank you for sharing. I started making cards back in the 80s but had stopped because when my card buddies just didn’t want to do it anymore. I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of my supplies so there they sat for years. I’m inspired and feel alive. Thank you so very much 😂
so glad you didn't give away or get rid of your supplies. same thing happened to me. I'm back at in full force. Thanks so channels like Maymay's and Mindless Crafting, Ginger's Corner. I haven't figured out what to do with everything I'm making but I'm having so much fun!!! Again!!!
I loved this idea on the scrap bin and using up your scraps. I have been cleaning in my craft room and I have tons of scraps and I am going to try out this idea. Thanks for the tips. I would love to see what you do with the tags and bookmarks.
I’ve been making cards from my scraps recently for a church to send out to their members who are not well or need a little smile. Thanks for giving me some new ideas!
I really love watching you craft on your channel, you never fail to inspire me 😀 particularly when you get periods of “craft blankness “ as I call it , where you totally just have no inspiration at all 😄 but watching and listening to you soon fixes things 👍
Loved this. Going to my friends together for a day of crafting my stash to help them get ideas for their stash. Also want to see tags and bookmarks. Thank you.
Wow! How awesome! I am going on vacation and was thinking I'm not going to drag any crafting stuff this time, but I can take my scrap container and paper cutter without feeling hassled and do this process in my idle time. THANKS!
MayMay, I just love watching your videos! So much inspiration, and you are a very talented crafter. I also love listening to you talk as you make your cards, which is a plus. You have a very pleasant manner. God bless you!
Greatly thought out. Thanks for the great ideas. I love watching your process of how to do this. Yes on seeing more ideas for book marks etc. I have new readers and want to teach them how to make a bookmark. Getting them ready to learn to paper craft. They are 3&5. Running to my craft space to make some cards.
Thank you Maymay, I would never have thought to make complete cards from the scrap bin. I am used to cutting them down and then making backgrounds out of them. You have such unique ideas.
If I go thru my scrap bin, it’s gonna be the first time in years, I’m gonna be awhile, I keep the solids separate from the prints, then another pile for fancy card stock, glitter, Matt and foil, etc. I did find this video very helpful, like the way you think.
This video is perfect to show how to bust your scraps! I have stacking trays...one for each color. And they are overflowing! I may be trying this today! Would love to see tags and bookmarks, etc. Thank you for another very useful tutorial! Have a great Sunday! Hugs n Luv ❤️ Suzy
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I need to tackle my scrap bin, and this video, as always, has been very helpful. Thanks Maymay, you’re the best!
I love this process and the end results for the blank card making stash buster! You said it exactly right “when you want to work on your hobby but don’t know exactly what to do.” This is what I’m going to do, next time the urge and time hits me. Thank you so much for the tools to make it fun and organized. I’ve needed cards in the past and didn’t have the time to sit down and make a card but I had enough time to put on a sentiment and inside message. So next time that happens I’ll have a way to quickly have the means to cheer someone up! Great video!
Scraps are the best! I'll often find inspiration in craft pieces I'm nearly finished with, and sometimes I'll do the same with the stuff in my scraps drawer. It's amazing how large some of the scrap pieces are that I've squirrelled away. Sometimes they even provide the inspiration for a card design!
This is so neat!! I have so many scraps as most crafters do but I don't have punches... Guess I gata get me some punches!! Haha I have a die cutting machine but punches seem more efficient and practical for this. Thanks MayMay!!
Not broken down scraps before and this was great. Thank you. You have the most soothing voice and it makes it easy to learn.
Bless you, MayMay, for doing a video for World Cardmaking Day that didn't require buying new product! I appreciate you!!!
You can also take your white scraps and stamp a bunch of sentiments that you use the most. Birthday, thank you, hello, thinking of you, sympathy, etc. keep them in a baggie or something, then when you need a card, you can pick a card and a sentiment, put them together and put the door.

The bee design is my favorite.

My stamper friends and I used to have a scrap only card making day.... It was a fun challenge.
I have been using my scraps when I try a new card from a video I have watched. That way if it doesn't turn out I haven't wasted new paper.
