I have a lot of problems with all these large organized churches, I can't find any that aren't a front tax free investments in military and sex toy companies.... the world is sick and the problem is people exploiting a broken system.

@Darealmun Thank you for your response! I agree and disagree. The way of Jesus Christ is all encompassing - spiritual and physical surrender of the self to the Divine Will. Claiming that His way is instead "religious" is a false dichotomy. Everyone is religious - everyone binds themselves to something to feel whole. Only Jesus Christ is worthy of such binding. He is the Way to true spirituality since he is the Master of the spiritual and physical universe. He is the only one who deals with the true enemy of the spiritual life that threatens members of all cultures, tribes, and languages - Sin. He loves enough to die for even His enemies - including myself. He is the one who takes away our sin, who makes us whole, fully human. He invites us to pick up our cross and follow Him - for authentic Union with the Divine, namely Himself. Out of love, I must warn that spiritual paths apart from The Cross, many of which I have self studied, may include genuinely good principles, but ultimately lead to incomplete or straight up false union with the Divine (hell). I appreciate your time in reading this post! I know it's heavy. If I’m understanding correctly, that’s where you explain how the assets (or whatever valuable things the nonprofit has) will be distributed if you dissolve the entity ..... do they go to another charity or nonprofit or foundation or special group. You have to decide where it goes. Most of the time people choose similar entities that share the same theological values and views. For example: a baptist church dissolves and will give all assets to “another” baptist church or to the denominational headquarters to decide who needs them

It should be if you plan on being a legitimate (online or in-person) ministry .... especially if you’re receiving donations, using volunteers, and reaching the general public ....

Ramone how does child support get effected if at all by church income to a pastor?
Well if you’re a w-2 employee it will show up in the system … if you’re not (but maybe getting honorariums or offerings) it won’t … you will report that on your income tax as a 1099 type of income but now w-2 which will report to the state agencies

I'm a registered minister in my state and have absolutely no training or support from my church (I'm queer). At some point, I became curious how to file paperwork to start a church of one person, just for fun.
Just curious. I was wondering how hard it would be to file to start my own church. Hypothetically, let's say I have no followers. Just myself.
Filing non-profit business licenses for fun with no idea what I'm filing or doing sounds like a dumb reason to get the IRS's attention, so I'm not really serious. I'm just curious.

No sir! You will be making a covenant with the government and have to abide by their rules. They will be the husband and your church will be the wife.

Yes … as far as the paperwork (and most operations) is concerned, a denomination is put together the same way with the exception of other broader objectives you may have and how you break them up like chapters, regions, districts, etc …

This sounds like you have to be bound by the government and not by God, with all the paper work and laws and bi-laws.
It’s actually the opposite. You’re “protected” not bound.
Why on earth would any man of god start a 501(c)(3) - non-profit church. Starting a 501(c)(3) places the church UNDER the control of the government.
Please become familiar with starting 508(c)(1)(a) - Faith Based Organization (FBO)
