I'd be interested in starting a non-profit for the following reasons: 1) I can derive a decent income from working in that organization. In other words I wouldn't need to be broke running a non-profit. 2) I can target the objective of the organization to benefit others, which would be very meaningful to me and them 3) I could pass on the benefits of a noble endeavor on to my children, grand-children, nieces, nephews, etc. 4) There's no law that says I could not run a separate for-profit company if I wanted to go that route too. 5) I would be doing something I loved!
Thanks for the post. To clarify: what if I own a LLC and a non profit. I make a gross annual income of 10000 for the LLC and I decide to donate 60 percent to my 501C3. Am I interpreting this correct? And if so, the benefit would be keeping you from paying taxes from $10,000 but only $4,000, right?
Thank you and that sounds like a noble cause! If your interested, we also offer free strategy sessions and workshops that could help you with this journey.
I was nonchalantly listening to my subscribed channels earlier today when the supreme being led me to this one... How do I set up a consultation with you sir? I have learned so much this afternoon my head is swimming...
Hi LC. Here is the link to schedule a free strategy session, bit.ly/3JbMhRP. Or you may call to speak with an advisor at our toll-free line, 800-706-4741.
Just to clarify. We want to start a 501c3 to provide transitional housing to foster kids aging out of foster care in LA County in California. We are leveraging some money to get the "model" built and then will use that equity to build more units. Still, there will be a mortgage from HUD or USDA while we get grants (or loan conversion to grant) to pay them down or to build more. Should we A: pass the whole assets to the 501c3 and have them pay off the loans or B: hold the assets and allow the 501c3 to manage the rentals/properties and just take a FMV writedown on the leases as an ongoing tax writeoff? We do not make enough to simply pay off the loans even over 30 years without that supplemental income.
@0:55 ''It's a great legacy tool to make sure that your kids are taken care of because they'll always have a place to work...'' This mentality of living off of the charitable donations of others meant to help those in need, not meant to pay the salaries of NPO CEO's and their kids. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH ''NONPROFITS'' TODAY!! Abuses of donated funds, especially in the relative chaos of disasters is a cancer on the planet. #DemandTransparency #TransparencyInGiving

It would be great if you can give an example of a passive way of doing this. Maybe also a simple example anyone can do. Basically is there a way to get started without having to donate a massive amount of capital and time to it? Is there a requirement on the % of funds that a non-profit must use each year? What's the max a person can get paid for managing the non-profit? I just stumbled upon your videos and I'm finding them very insightful. Thank you for the content.
Hello. How does it continue to grow (as you emphasized near the end of the video) if the people running it get paid, and if money is given away (for providing housing etc), and there is no source of revenue? Is it that the assets put into it (properties, stocks, etc,) continue to increase in value? But if so, where do the funds to pay money out come from, if those properties are not liquidated?
If you're good at making money, first take care of your employees. They are the ones that actually make your money. Solution to a ton of issues lies right there.
The concept works just about everywhere. If you live in a particular country, you will likely need to create the entity in that jurisdiction if that is where the activity is taking place.
