In this video series, Trivium guitarists Matt Heafy and Corey Beaulieu show you how to play the songs "Inception of the End," "Built To Fall" and "Forsake Not the Dream" from the band's new album, In Waves. This video is the fourth of the series, showcasing parts from the song "Forsake Not the Dream" - Розваги
Corey's foughts: 0:00 "This is my guitar, my darling, my love... Jackson is love, Jackson is life..." 0:20 "Oh, the camera is running, time to wake up." 0:25 "Yeah, I need to talk some technical stuff now"
loooool =)))
Mo MitderPo Lmao
hahahahaha
One of the most underrated songs on one of the most underrated/overhated trivium album
+Andrew Mckay Genuinely didn't like this song particularly until I listened to this video. Those harmonies! :O
All of their songs are underrated lol
This comment makes no sense
I have never heard any Trivium fan say anything negative about In Waves.
@@COYM_1908 At the time of release, it wasn't really that well received by fans, mainly due to the fact that it had to follow up fucking Shogun. But as time went on with Vengeance Falls and Silence in the Snow released, In Waves was then more of a fan favorite if anything.
something about that bend that corey does at 2:33 is so satisfying
Trivium are one of the most inspiring bands in the world, at least for me. Such good song and riff writers.
I don't play metal songs anymore like I used to, but one thing I know is that playing songs like this builds bromanship. It's just fun playing along with someone and doing it all perfectly in sync.
How could they not have chosen this song as their second single? Has that Ascendancy magic. Love it
the most underrated guitarists in the world
Sad but true :(
Pun intended? Lol
Yep Brandon Aldrete
The Best IMO
The riffs in this song are more catchy than the actual lyrics. Trivium has a great way of doing that. The guitar part is usually more interesting than the full song itself.
When you forget the lyrics but the melody is stuck in your head ...
I tend to sing the riffs instead of the lyrics sometimes
Especially the power chords in the beginning and on the chorus. They're so damn catchy.
Disagree, the guitar is definitely catchy. But "give me the strength to face what's in front of you, in front of me" has stuck with me since I heard it and plays in my head in many situations.
Those harmonies get me right in the feels...I really want to have an instrumental versions of their records. Damn, that would be so great ^^
Corey wtf?!
He's playing that harmony with brutal downpicks!
thats how trivium plays always, ember to inferno its another downpicking masterpiece
@@darthshaggy9970 like light to the flies
Yeah that’s the only way I can do it cuz alternate picking hates me on that part 😂
@@currentlyvibing9916 Same for me, downpicking may be fast but it's easier for me to do than alternate picking.
so cool how each guitar plays through a different headphone
Matt Rosell they hard pan the guitars so it's not an absolute mess in the mix.
Matt's solo is so simple but it sounds very awesome.
thats some of the craziest down picking i have ever seen. my forearm would be on fire.
Check out John Browne from Monuments, the fastest down-picker I have EVER seen or heard
Oh it’s not that fast, check out the song Drowned and Torn Asunder by them, it’s *Insane*
And people say Hetfield is the King of down picking...
@@jamesestrada82 he is the king of downpicking. Corey and Matt were influenced by James.
@@metallicaguy123 Het used to be the king of downpicking in the 80’s when no one was doing it, but nowadays there are definitely people who’ve surpassed his ability to do it.
0:35 while Corey's talking Matt looks like he's just waiting for him to say something stupid so he can beat the shit out of him.
That's actually so true haha
+elasdickband027 lol I just imagined him abruptly getting up and breaking the guitar off of his face
+elasdickband027
I actually noticed that too.. Matt's like.. "How dare you steal my thundah!!! " Lmao.
Trivium's amazing. So amazing.
Matt's Gibson is awesome...
It's an Epiphone though, no?
Bart S i think its gibson looks at the headstoke
@@TheBartlord It says gibson on the headstock not an epiphone so its a gibson
I love it so much👌
Jackson
Mesmerizing to watch, these guys are great!
1:48 just Genius To Get That Part
Okay after listening to this like 100 times this may just be my favourite Trivium song ever written and both of their solos might be my favourite solos they've ever done
That bridge is so sick!
Matt - master, Corey master of masters.
Just a Dude here eh Matt is better, that’s why he is the one who records the rhythms in the studio he’s much cleaner
Brian McAlpine yeah no, there is a reason why Corey is the lead guitarist. He is amazing. Matt also but Corey is way more technical in his playing
@@brianmcalpine3948 The reason Matt records all the rhythms is solely to retain consistency in the tone. There are rhythm parts that Corey has written that Matt struggled to learn.
@@JokerCat9 a certain part of callisto from Shogun comes to mind 😅 matt, to this day, says it's one of the trickiest guitar parts he recorded, mainly because Corey wrote it and it fucked with Matt
These guys are truly masters of guitar!
+Gregory “1o4” Liaros I wouldnt go shouting that about
Watched it at least 15 times, can't stop !!
I've lost count
Beautifully composed.
I can't stop listening to this song,it's immense!
My fav band out there, such talented guys just love their music no matter what album love em all 🔥
Go back to their first guitar world video and then watch this. They have improved so much as musicians and technically as players. Really inspiring!
The guitar work you guys put out is amazing...
I love playing these riffs from this album 🎉
So fun and catchy ❤
My favorite song on the album!! this is amazing!!
In waves. What a great Album. These two guys could give a lot of guitar player duo's a run for their money.
I love the riffs of this song so much 🔥🤘😍
TRIVIUM ❤
I'm in love with that 68' reissue, great guitars (:
Incredibly talented band and my favourite.
I’m biased as they are my favourite band and have been for years. But my goodness, they are so incredibly talented. A serious level of class on every regard. They deserve far more recognition than I think they get.
There's something just so good about these like raw takes
One of Corey's best solos
This song got me into trivium. would love to see them play it live.
I'm happy that i can do this perfectly after practicing for a couple months after seeing this video
Saw them in Berlin (Huxleys), it was more than awesome.
Wow, that right hand of Corey is like a machine gun \m/
My favourite band of all time, love these guys, they don’t do same shit on their albums, and so talented 🎉❤
i don't watch this to learn, at this time i won't be able to achieve this. it's just awesome to see these guys play together
Awesome I gotta learn all of this
Matt's posture is unbelievable..
I love this song!! I just have to learn this on guitar!! :D
I'm totally getting the album
I don't know why, but Corey's sliding at 2:40 is awesome!
Beautiful!
This song got me into the band too
The bridge is spectacular
this song in epic. playing and vocals. in fact the whole in waves album is epic. trivium FTW...
These guys are so badass! My true guitar heros
i met these guys at download festival 2012, they are not just really dead on to talk to they did one fucking amazing show LOVE TRIVIUM!
I loved the covered EMG's on Matt's Paul. Man I'd kill for that guitar ;)
these two play awesome..
It's going to be hard to beat the album "In Waves." Can not wait to hear what's next!!
Fantastic duet ! love this song!
Insane, i cant stop watching it! Im lightyears away from trying to play this :D
Actually a lightyear is a measure of distance, not of time
+Luis Bgarza Yeah Shithead, i know that. Stop correcting people on the internet. nobody likes you folks.
If you´re such a smart guy, write an article about your smarty smartness and leave people the fuck alone.
+dynatwenty Chill mate, it was supposed to be a nice gesture of mine to correct you because I thought you didn't know. God, there are so many pussies on the internet.
+Luis Bgarza i was just kidding :P high five metalfriend
Matt
Been balking on buying In Waves because Shogun was so great. Maybe I will just bite the bullet and get it because this section is so cool. Thanks for posting. I love videos like this.
in waves is a great album. its way different than shogun, but its a good album nonetheless. ascendancy is way different then shogun. thats just how they roll i guess lol.
Badass song and band Trivium!!!
This took me 8 months just to learn this whole song!!!! \m/
More POWER! TRIVIUM!!
i can't stop..
Corey is wearing an AS I LAY DYING shirt :)
i love corey's solo in this one
Yea i dont see a problem with noise gates...i love them. Cleans and tightens everything up really nice!!
amazing
Gypson with the EMG pickup sound so badass, .forsake not the dream is Great guitar Riffs....
i got the chills
don't worry about it learning songs isn't easy, it took me 6 months to learn Sweet Child O' Mine, but that song thought me alot of techniques and now i can play songs like this no problem. So keep practicing kid, this is what makes learning guitar fun.
Hoooly shit, matt's tone is soo damn cool!
+Caleb Villalba Too bad his guitar was so subdued in the video. I could hardly hear it!
@@The95thZebra it isnt its panned all the way to the left
@@The95thZebra During his solo, I thought he was using the EMG 85 in the neck due to how subdued it sounded, but it was actually his 81 in the bridge.
dude, this sounds pretty good, i might get the album
It's so happy..
its like, i can play this song on guitar, yet im not even one tenth of the musicians these guys are! they right some absolutely incredible material!
I forgot how I like this videos! This song is damn hard to play at its original speed
just plain badass!!!!
@DeadlyDictator So good to see fans of metal discussing different styles without flaming :)
Despite the bad press EMG's get from a lot of people, I personally thought Matt's guitar tone here is pretty badass!
They are awesome o.o
truly epic
Matts solo is really nice in this
awesome
i could literally just watch the 2 of them jam all fucking day.....
Thanks buddy.
Mat you're genius!!!
This riff make my right hand go to the hell😱 especially corey stuff
Very good
just gained new fan
Hey do something on "Caustic Are The Ties That Bind" Favorite song on the album.
DAMN, these guys are TALENTED. That shit is string skipped?? At that speed? Wowza.
You're welcome! Any time.
fucking love corey`s tone
@maxlotte It's just a standard Jackson KV2 with ahb1 blackouts :)
that was pretty badass
my god matt is amazing
practice makes perfect
@ManifestPanda It could also be the noise gate they are using to mask the high gain noise in between notes, which is choking the decay of the sound.
@Colton527Down tuning doesn't necessarily mean something will sounds heavier though, Shattering the skies above is one of Trivium's heaviest songs, and that's in Drop D.
Damn, that is tight as hell.
