Legion sounds good! It’s not easily accessible where I live though so I just have to find alternative options but I’d definitely be curious to try it out if they expanded to other countries.

Hey Doc lyss good video! How’s it going? I had a question about zone 2 and 3 training for running, I live in the myrtle beach area sc. aka humidity paradise where even in evenings it can be 80 percent humidity and 95 percent humidity in morning. I ran my 16 mile long run the other day outside woke up a little to late started it 10 am but it was 69 degrees 85 percent humidity and even at easier pace I noticed my heart rate got tougher tougher by last 3 miles and I landed in mostly zone 4 for run and some zone 3. Do u recommend I use gym treadmill for most my long runs this time of year? I feel like I can stay in zone 2-3 for hours hours on treadmill and recover better during summer. Or should I just try get out door by 5-6 am should I also use a hydration vest with electrolytes? Running in south east can be very frustrating as high humidity even makes an easier run a tempo run.
Hi There! This question is not really related to this video at all. I do have a video coming in the later weeks related to this though. You can also book a Consultation Call or Zones Assessment with me through my website to dive into your question & specific needs deeper. :)
I don't think I realized it really made a difference between getting your protein from whole foods as opposed to supplements (although thinking about it further it does make sense that they should be "supplemental" :) )! I would say at this point a solid 1/3 of my protein intake comes from drinks/shakes - is that bad? Thanks!
We should for sure prioritize whole food sources but 20-40g of supplemented protein is likely fine. But don’t want to totally replace all of it with whey! Other foods have other nutrients too we want
I appreciate all the info in this video. I do buy and use Legion but I find almost all protein powders (incl. Legion) to be too sweet. You can add sweetener if needed but you can’t take it away once there. I wish they would cut down the sweetener by at least 1/4. I do like their commitment to quality and transparency.
Some flavors are sweeter than others and they are pretty good about their return or change policy if you reach out soon enough . I think it’s the stevia which to some is very sweet - I think if you like their product they would be open to this feedback as well!
I’d argue that “natural flavors” requires guessing. I have yet to find a protein that doesn’t have this in their list of ingredients but when you make a point that they, unlike a lot of other companies, are fully transparent with their ingredients, it’s just not completely accurate
They are transparent in what you are getting in the dosing, ingredients, 3rd party testing and “no blends”. I am sure if you reach out to legion or use the chat on their website they would be happy to expand more if you’re concerned by this. But my language here isn’t dishonest, esp compared to many other brands or products on the market. You also are free to avoid all protein supplements if the use of natural flavors is something you don’t want to consume!
I did not know that there are supposedly a best or most nutritious type of cow out there or that they are located at a specific place. Learn something new every day 😂
Thanks for all the info! I didn’t know the science behind whey protein. Also the breakdown of the label info / what to look for was helpful! 😊
Checkout my other video on picking protein supplements as well which will be even more helpful!
Will do, thank you!

I’m glad to learn the protein mixes well with water!

Just a higher quality milk which helps products taste better / smoother!
