Hi everybody! For everyone asking how surgery went, I thought I would pin a comment here. Typing is hard one handed! The surgery itself went smoothly, but ended up being more extensive than planned. They had said it would go one of two way, With a cleanup needed, but no reattachment of the tendons, and four weeks in the immobilization device, or, reattaching the tendons to the bone and eight weeks in the immobilization device.
They ended up reattaching the tendons to the bone, so the longer recovery, but they also realized while they were in there that they needed to grind down the bones in that area to make space for the tendons, so.... I'm not sure what that means for the recovery time. I have a fancy robot chair I have to sit in for three hours a day that slowly moves my arm, to avoid it all healing together in one mass and freezing up. It's definitely not fun right now, but I will get through it. A huge thank you to everyone sending me good wishes, healing thoughts, or prayers! It means so much to me!🧡

Amy, I hope your heal goes quickly and well. You will be relieved to have two arms again. In the meantime, I hope you can do gratitude exercises, journaling, or read a good book while strapped in your chair

Had very large rotor cuff tear and bicep tear. Had surgery last June. Wishing you a quick and complete recovery.
i just said a little prayer for your healing ,i have several meeden products ,i went big and bold and bought the 12 1 liter tubs of heavy body paints ,it did not come with purple or orange so i got another yellow and light purple,my ceramic 2 water basin is so nice,i got the watercolor set before i liked it and it came with the blue brushes and cotton paper ,be well Amy ,love you

That's a tremendous amount of art supplies for a very reasonable price. It would definitely be a great purchase for anyone looking to start out on their art journey and wanting to try each of the most common wet mediums before deciding which one(s) they preferred. At the start of the video I couldn't help chuckling to myself when you had to keep stopping the video to go and get help to open what seemed like an endless sequence of boxes. I could almost hear your kids "Aww Mom. not again?". It was like those Russian dolls where you open one - only to find a smaller, identical one inside. And when you open that one, there's another doll inside that ... etc etc. Anyway, thanks for the video and also for the update on your post-surgery recovery. Undoubtedly it's hard-going for you at the moment but it seems as if everything is under control and all heading in the right direction. Take care, Brian.

I was glad to hear your surgery went well. I ended up having emergency surgery on my stomach 4 days after my nose surgery...if I never have a surgery again it will be too soon lol loved learning about the meden paints and brushes.

I have the tabletop easel from my Great aunt Betty. Never learned to make it a standing one.

Since I’m in Canada It’s cheaper for me to order from their Amazon page. I wish I would seen their watercolour kit a few months ago. It’s perfect for a beginner like me and can’t beat the price of $45 CA. Specially knowing the great quality.

I am curious if the colors are the same for each medium. For example, is the skin tone the same in oil as it is for the gouache or acrylic? Best of luck with a speedy recovery.
If you have something that is too hard to get out of a box, try cutting the box open at all the corners so that it folds down. Saves hurting yourself.

Do you use separate brushes for your gouache and watercolour paints?
Yes I do! I tend to mostly like round brushes in various sizes for watercolor but I use a lot more flats and bright, etc. for gouache. plus, sometimes I use acrylic gouache and I feel like it makes watercolor brushes less thirsty if that makes sense!
