You're great Jonathan. Your kind manner, and knowledge is commendable. Playing guitar isn't just a bunch of notes with you. It is a melody, a song with all the right mix of stuff. You build anticipation and then deliver. Thank you.
Good choice on the pickups. You can't go wrong with Seymour Duncan stuff. I stuck a Little 59 in the bridge on my Cabronita Tele and love it. I really enjoy your playing!
I just got one of those yesterday! I love it! It took only 10 days to get it which isn't bad being it was shipped from Germany to the Midwest. I don't see any reason to change anything on it. Maybe it's my amp, but the pickups sound great and all the switches work perfect. I hove only one fret that is a bit edgy, but that won't take much to address. Nice playing and tone. Great great demo. It seems like they might be an ideal pickup set for me- can use the bridge pickup for Country, and the neck pickup for Jazz. Thanks so much.

Hi jonathan! One question; How would you recommend on getting a mexican made fender telecaster or getting a HB and remodding like you did here... Thnks 😊
Hi Jonathan, my ears found the differences between the 2 sets very subtle. I understand your comment "milder and slightly fatter". I'm surprised Thomann does not have pickguards that fit their HB: were they HB pick guards or Fender or any other ? Was it the shape, the neck cut or the holes locations ? By the way it looks the 2 upper brass saddles are inverted: middle should be for E and A strings to allow better intonation ( wrongly mounted at HB Factory )
Is there any additional routing required to fit these ? I know on the te20 to mod it you need to alter the cavities ? Thanks for the videos great playing
First off, what an awesome musician you are! I just bought a set of the “hot tele” pups for my 2018 players tele. Haven’t installed them yet because i’m waiting on a set of roller saddles to go with them. I’m an old rocker from the 60’s when I first started gigging out in my high school years. I certainly don’t even come close to your expertise but just wondered what you thought about it. I don’t gig out anymore but do still get together with old fellas like myself and garage it. My new player series is very comfortable to play and sounds pretty good but it just doesn’t seem ballsey enough so I bought the Seymours to try. I think yours sounds great and hope mine comes even close. whatta you think about my little experiment?
by the way Jonathan, what does the neck on your HB feel like. Is it chunky like the old school teles or more like a modern C shape of the newer models ? I think i’m getting ready to pull the trigger and buy one. Love the look! 🎸 joe
Hi Rick!! Yes I do! I used the built in noise gate that is in the Helix. Most noise gate operate about the same. You will need to pay close attention to the threshold and the release so that your guitar sustain would not be silenced too soon but still enough to gate unwanted noise at the same time. Hope this helps 😊
I Think hot tele bridge 16 k, roswell 6,7k it is much hotter if I'm not wrong. The originals pots hb are 500 K you change to 250 k to the new pick ups? Thanks😊🎵🎵

Great sound, thanks for sharing. I have one modified Harley Benton amongst my guitars and it is my favorite one, only the neck could be a bit fatter. But I have to admit that the stock pickups in your TE70 do not sound bad at all. But for more clarity and a more controlled distortion your Seymour Duncan set is clearly better suited. I do not remember if you mentioned that in your videos - I am wondering if you are gigging with your Harley Benton TE70 or are you doing only studio work with it?
+Harald Engels hi Harald! Thank you for your kind comments! Yea..liked ive stated, the stock pickups are really not too bad. Have a great weekend! ✌😀
I have the same setup on my paisley tele and wanted to know what your amp settings are. I cant get my tele to sound as sweet. Do you use custom tone on the Line6 website?
Hi Steve!! Thanks for your comments.. I dont use tones that are/were create by others as I will play differently from the creator of the tones. Basically I'm using the Deluxe compressor to the Us Deluxe Nrm to a plate reverb and digital delay. I have a minotaur distortion before the amp for the dirtier stuff. I also don't give out tones or publish them as I believe that we as guitarists should try to figure things out ourselves and create tones that cater to each individual. Hope this helps! Have fun creating✌️😊
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I understand. Believe it or not that's my setup too. I also use the fender amps with my strat. Love the amp! Thanks. That guitar for the price is unbelievable. Even the stock pickups sounded good but the bridge squeeled a little but the neck pickup sounded fine.
@@guitarrock58 I use guitar rig and amplitude at times too. But I use the helix native exclusively nowadays because of its excellent amp simulations and effects. See my other video about the helix native 🤓
Hey, hi. Great video as always. So, watching your videos, and also some others, I have decided to get this guitar. I do think the original bridge pickup is a bit too bright for my taste. But I will leave it as it is for the moment. :) I do have one question though, if you don't mind. The tone pot on my HB TE-70 (same as yours) seems to be affecting the tone only on the last quarter of the pot movement. So, starting with the tone at full, and rolling it back, the tone remains practically the same until the last quarter or so of the pot movement. And then if just cuts the highs quite fast. This does not allow for a linear adjustment of the tone. Does that also happen on your guitar? Thanks..
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks for your answer, I don't think the pot is dirty as that you cause intermittent functioning of the tone. I believe my guitar might have shipped with the wrong pot value, or wrong capacitor value. Something was built wrong. Next time I change strings I will open it up and see what's going on, as now you confirmed that it is not the correct behavior. The picture of the cap on your video, is that from the new cap, or the old one? Thanks..
Hi man, great channel! My question is do the pickups get dirty with clean tones at high volume? Do you think they are versatile to play good clean tones and wamer high gain tones?
Yes these pickups’ output are much higher so they might drive the amp.. ask you need to do is to bring down that volume knob a bit and you’ll be fine✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hi. man sorry to bother you again but i have a last question. Are this pick ups very noisy? My main concern is that having such a high output the 60 cycle hum would be even worse than with normal single coils
Hi Jonathan! Question: was it possible to order the guitar shipped in a case purchased from them? Reason I'm asking is that it would keep the guitar much safer during shipping. Also, I wouldn't change that black pick guard, if I were you. I think it looks fantastic the way it is!
Hey Jonathan, thanks for sharing! Man, I really like your playing, it's great. I agree the SDs sound better. Other than that I guess the TE70 seems to be a very nice guitar. Thanks ever so much, and warm greetings from Berlin! :)
Your sound makes me want to practice! Help a new player? I picked up a used "Nashville" Telecaster as my first guitar. It has the Seymour Duncan Hot Tele set, but it has a Seymour Duncan SHR-1B - hot rail strat bridge pickup in the middle (seems way too much to me). What pickup should I put in the middle?
Thank you Again Jonathan for your video. I live in the States and just really apprehensive about ordering this guitar. I like your honesty and I may just do it. I am not a guitar tech and and hope the neck doesn't need fret leveling . Would you say this is a better choice over the TE 52 ? this does have the compensated saddles. Very nice feeling in your playing . Tim
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hello Jonathan, I was curious on what basis you make the above assertion? On the Thomann GB website both guitars are the same price £144 (great value) and if anything the TE52 seems better due to having an ash body rather than basswood. Is it just the paisley finish which swings it for you? Or the different tuners and Wilkinson bridge with brass saddles Or combination thereof? I like both very much! They both have similar customer ratings of 4.5 from 5 with many more of the TE52's being sold. Thanks.

@@tele2018 awesome!!! Yea the stock pups are not that bad... Just that I didn't like the bridge pup that much 😀
@@JonIsJustTooLoud 👍👍
What amplifier are you using?
Hi!! I'm using the Line 6 Helix Native.🤓
Waw! I thought you were using a real amp, how can it sound so good? I use guitar rig and it sounds too digital...
@@guitarrock58 I use guitar rig and amplitude at times too. But I use the helix native exclusively nowadays because of its excellent amp simulations and effects. See my other video about the helix native 🤓
Cool! Thanks for replying!
Hey, hi. Great video as always. So, watching your videos, and also some others, I have decided to get this guitar. I do think the original bridge pickup is a bit too bright for my taste. But I will leave it as it is for the moment. :)
I do have one question though, if you don't mind. Thanks..
pilot140467 no it doesn’t happen on my guitar. You might want to clean your pots with a contact cleaner or worse case, replace them✌️🤓
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks for your answer, I don't think the pot is dirty as that you cause intermittent functioning of the tone. Thanks..
@@pilot140467 That's a new cap :)
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Right, thank you :)
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thank you very much man!
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hi. man sorry to bother you again but i have a last question. Are this pick ups very noisy? My main concern is that having such a high output the 60 cycle hum would be even worse than with normal single coils
@@luigiriccardi5947 not really... I’ve heard pickup with less output.. sounding more noisy than these
Hi Jonathan! Question: was it possible to order the guitar shipped in a case purchased from them? Reason I'm asking is that it would keep the guitar much safer during shipping. Also, I wouldn't change that black pick guard, if I were you. I think it looks fantastic the way it is!
I think you should check out with Thomann. Email them and ask..I don't think it should be a problem. 🤓✌️
Merci beaucoup✌♥
Hey Jonathan, thanks for sharing! Man, I really like your playing, it's great. I agree the SDs sound better. Other than that I guess the TE70 seems to be a very nice guitar. Thanks ever so much, and warm greetings from Berlin! :)
Thank you Frank!! Oh yes..a great guitar is just not the pickups.. For me.. It has to feel right on my hands and the TE70 fits that criteria 🤓✌️
Now you're in my range of guitars (Telecaster type). Back in the '70's Ron Wood (then with the Faces) taught me "play the guitar, not the brand.
Awesome!! I love Ron's playing.. And he's so right about that statement ✌️🤓
Get the SD Alnico2 pro staggered strat middle pickup✌️🤓
sounds so good!! will upgrade mine too in the future :D
✌️❤️
A very good Review , thanks !
Glad it was helpful!✌❤
Thank you Again Jonathan for your video. I live in the States and just really apprehensive about ordering this guitar. I like your honesty and I may just do it. I am not a guitar tech and and hope the neck doesn't need fret leveling . Would you say this is a better choice over the TE 52 ? this does have the compensated saddles. Very nice feeling in your playing . Tim
Yes most definitely better than the TE52. Thank you for your kind comment✌️🤓
Thanks.
sounds great
✌️❤️
I would preferred a video take of it in stock condition
please check my other videos on it ✌
@@JonIsJustTooLoud i did and its good nice guitar👍
So is this your favorite tele that you own now , I really like the paisley look
Well that video was made about a year back.. It still is but my current favourite Tele is the G&L tribute bluesboy semi solid..✌️🤓
