Important!!!!
Make sure the game is from steam depends on the version of the game some non steam games do work also. Some scripts need the steam version to properly split the screen some dont. Also don't forget to read instructions in nucleus when you download the script.
this might help also if your game needs additional files if you don't have the steam edition try a patch. Good luck and always backup your data.

I finally got it all to work to find the second player controls both screens while first player controls its screen independently. Reddit posts take me down technical rabbit holes that im not keen on. I just want to play MCC with my wife damnit lol

Hmmm I wonder if you could use this method to run Left 4 Dead 2 two times for split screen but this time they can both handle max settings with mods that would crash the game if just added two players
L4D2 has its own 2player mode， please use the console
@@xiaoranding8337 I don't think you understand what I'm saying, The left 4 dead 2 engine can't handle a lot of mods with split screen, you at the game running two times at once on let's say they very good computer than in theory both players can run the game with all the mods that would originally work for a single player playthrough that normally wouldn't work with two players split screen

Yes and no
how did you get the controller to appear on nucleus? is there something specific you needed to do?
Make sure you are using windows recognized controller, not third party software. I recommend a xbox controller.

Make sure before you start your game you add 2 controllers when u see the one controller click the icon you can add up to 8 players but you need to specify how many players before you start.

So this won't work with downloaded emulation games?
emulation meaning emulator? like ps2 or ps3? Emulators already come with local coop depending on the game. The Original Xbox can play up to 4 players if you have a decent cpu/gpu, enough usb ports or bluetooth with 4 controllers locally.
-For the other question yes you must have the game downloaded steam games work most but you can try your luck with one without steam you need to locate the exe file in nucleus so it can create separate instances for multiplayer. List of supported games in description.

Add both controllers in the nucleus app, before the game launches turn off the second controller until the first one is set up, once the first screen is set up then turn on the second controller for the second screen.
The 2nd game never loads up how do I fix this?
The steam version works for sure but every other version is a gamble. If the screen doesn't split automatically you may have a different version.
Make sure you add 2 controllers also if not it will load just one screen.

Try one controller at a time leave the second one off until the first is setup. Hopefully that fixes your problem.
