Really well done first-person video! Great camera presence! You must have inherited that. LOL Of all the things, I liked the tripod the most, I think. Cool that it does the phone and a conventional camera mount. Now all the companies that were repped in the this video need to step up and sponsor you!!!
Haha thanks! No kidding lol- but I already have the gear that I like 😅
This is awesome! I love how joyful and in the moment you are through the Hexatrek series! Seems like a blast, I’d love to do in on day 😁
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it :) I had so much fun on this trail.
Hey Bonjour 😊 I love his videos so much of the little things carried for 3000 km!! Thank you Lauren for this video and all the others from Hexatrek 😊
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed them :)
This was super helpful Lauren and I'm so happy you addressed just using the inner short as your underwear (it was not TMI!!). I've always wondered about doing this for longer trips. How often were you able to wash your shorts? I also love lulu shorts but do find the waistband can take a bit to dry out!
I’m glad it was helpful!! I’d often rinse the inner liner and let them hang over night, that way the waist band wasn’t wet in the morning but they were a little cleaner. But they’d get properly laundered once a week in town when I’d resupply.
Wow, our gear is basically a carbon copy from the pack to the tent down to the light.
No drone though lol
Nice stuff chick! 🤘
Sounds like you have good taste in gear then haha! 😆
Thank you so much, I was curious about the sun hoodie - and they're currently on sale! Love the vids, look forward to each one. Cheers!
So glad you found it helpful!
Really enjoyed this Hexatrek series, great job. I noticed you wearing something on the NZ hike. Was it compression sleeves for your calves? Did you find they helped at all? What brand did you use?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I brought compression sleeves because there was so much road walking and I didn’t want shin splints. Idk if it helped or not, it was more of a precaution. I only used it sometimes so I’m not sure of the effect haha
Wow, This video is definitely useful.
Thankyou Lauren for showing my thinking gears, your luggage, nitty-gritty attire, and miscellaneous gadgets.
Very interesting indeed 10 out of 10.
Glad it was helpful!
Bonsoir, je vous fais un coucou de Paris !
Bonjour! Merci!
Hi Lauren, very interesting video for me... Thanks... The biggest question for me was if I should take my drone with me. (800g). If I undestand everything right your wouldn t carry them again, right? Best regards from germany....
I did not think it was worth taking. It’s heavy and annoying for a whole thru hike, in my opinion
Any tips on gas bottles in France? I see that the french like to use a different system.. just order on Decathlon and ship to the next place of possible?
You can get international canisters almost everywhere :) I didn’t have any trouble with it
Hi Lauren. Did you use a pack liner? Did you have to bring a trowel, or are there lots of toilet facilities? I can't imagine how you fitted all this into a 40 L pack especially the drone!
Hi Bella! I did bring a trowel and forgot to include it in this video! I didn't use it very often as there are a lot of bathroom options. I didn't use a pack liner, but I had my essentials (sleeping bag and electronics) in a dry bag.
Women’s version trekking poles have smaller handles.
Ahh I see!
How did you come to wear the Altras? I’m always interested in how people make their decisions re footwear, I go between ON Running and Hoka Kaha 2 personally
I like the wide toe box and I like the more barefoot feel. I don’t like when I can’t feel the ground when I’m hiking. :)
What is the hat you’re wearing on Te Araroa plz Lauren?
That is a hat from The Trek! They sent it to me :) thetrek.co is their site.
