Props for you having the stones to make this video mate. Something that doesn't get talked about really with Whiskytube and it is important to note that Whisky is EXPENSIVE. I decided to copy you and my total comes out at my biggest whisky expense year but only got 8 bottles. Aiming for no bottles in 2024...
Hopefully you manage no bottles 🤣 It's definitely an expensive hobby, and if you want to try whisky then you're gonna have to buy. I suppose sample swaps are good, but that can only go so far. Personally, I need to be opening more. Cheers!
Hey Stuart, a great review and an interesting watch, thanks for making this. I think the key point here is affordability, as long as you're not spending money you don't have to chase bottles, then no harm done. For something you are passionate about, brings you pleasure and makes you happy and affordable, averaging £200pm is very reasonable considering that amount could easily be spent on a monthly gym membership ( in some parts of the UK at least) and hardly be used. It's all relative, you can afford it, you're very passionate about it, and I don't think it's an obscene amount of money, in my opinion - Good on you! I've added a cost column to my whisky list on excel and slowly filling in the blanks - no comment! 😂

It’s an expensive hobby but you’ve paid for them all out of your own pocket, which is remarkable. I think a lot of people have been sucked into this hobby recently via UA-cam so it’s good to see the reality of it all in this video. Well done mate.

Stuart this content is brilliant I think you should do this review monthly if you have time and it would be great to explain the rationale behind each bottle. I don’t feel as bad now compared as this is my most expensive year to date on purchases.
Great idea, although I’m scared to add up my spending for the year . I’m probably about £100 per month on average tbh but hoping to reduce that a little bit next year.
£2327 converted to Canadian dollars (where I live) is about $4000. That’s right in the ballpark of what I spend on scotch whiskey in a year. I wouldn’t say that’s excessive if you can afford it and you enjoy it then why not? Well played sir. 🥃😃

I've definitely reduced from last year, without a doubt. I do sometimes feel guilty about how much I spend, but at least I can call it "research" 😂
