  • The price of Scotch whisky has gone up, but $100 is enough to buy plenty of quality bottles. In this video, I'll share my Top 10 list of bottles by preference that I would look for if I had $100 to spend on one bottle at the whisky shop.

So glad you put this video out today!! I’ve been curious about the Glendronach 15yr. I just went to the store and picked it up and it is DELICIOUS!!! Love your content, cheers mate 🥃

Very solid list that. Thanks for another great video! Here in BC Canada anything coming out of Springbank, or it's sibling distilleries is rarer than rocking horse doo-da. I'd switch them out for Benromach cask strength. I ❤ that distillery

Enjoyed the review and wrote down your recommendations for future reference. The last bottle that I purchased for right at $100 (well, $99 ^;) in Maine just a month ago) was the Miyagikyo Single Malt.

Solid list with a nice variety. If I were to add a three to make a baker's dozen they would be Craigellachie 13, Benromach 15 and the Raasay core range release. Thanks for the video.

Great list - though I would add Benromach 15 or Benromach cask strength, an amazing Thompson Bros blend - TB/BSW - and Bunnahabhain 12 cask strength.

Benromach 15, Glencadam 10, Port Charlotte 10, Deanston 18, Longrow Peated, Kilchoman Sanaig, Bunnahabhain 12, Glen Scotia Victoriana, Auchentoshan Three Wood, & Westland Peated American Single Malt

Great choices... but a bit surprised a Laphroaig didn't make the list, since you're clearly into the aggressive Islay & Campbeltown profiles.

A good call. That one still seems to be available below the $100 in a lot of places.

In Canada most of these scotch expressions are over $100 even before about an18% tax. The Ardbeg UIG is a regular buy for me but it’s about $160 before tax. The Lagavulin 8 is $105 before tax. The Kilchomen mentioned goes above $100. I don’t know the exact cost for all of these such as the Glen Allachie, if available in Canada, easily, but they are all way above the U.S. cost. Sometimes we can order from Alberta cheaper and pay for shipping - $30. The Pirt Charlotte is about $120 before tax! The expressions here apply only to the U.S. I would think. Almost nothing is below $100! Good list but I can’t really get anything at these lower price points. Cheers!

I'm lucky in my area Ardbeg Corryvreckan is still available at $89 USD. This list is VERY hard to top without going into Independent Bottlers. I agree with so many of these picks. Other than what is mentioned here I'd get Edradour Caledonia.

Thank you so much for this video! I was seriously about to go buy Lag 16 because I've been looking for something to compare to my favorite whisky, Ardbeg Ugi. I've now decided to purchase something that I can find from your top 5 here. Probably Port Charlotte if I can find it because I already love the Classic Laddie.

Glendronach 15 is way over $100 in Alberta Canada even with the exchange rate. I know you qualified your price basis but it’s way up there everywhere.

@@Watchman999 Because of the Macallan 12? It deservingly gets a lot of hate because of the pretentiousness surrounding the brand, but in the glass, Macallan 12 Sherry Oak is still a great drink, and I've yet to find an equivalent substitute for it; although Glendronach 12 and Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 are two good alternatives ✌️

Very predictable and boring list. Peated whiskies almost all of them. Have you ever heard of unpeated highland or speyside whiskies?
Like Craigellachie, Aberlour, Glencadam, Clynelish. Also Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia are interesting choices
