I am aware that Berea College now uses Stand Out Application rather than Coalition. Although the platforms have different names, the content of the college application remains the same as in this video. Therefore, you can still use this video as a guide. Good-luck!
Note: I did move quickly through some parts that are pretty straightforward (e.g household members' names, ages, etc.); mentioning it so you all are not confused when watching.

Hi Esther! I've been watching your videos and they've really helped, Thanks a lot. I have a question though, I'm planning to apply to Berea this year but I'm afraid my waec isn't good enough. I had 6-C's, 2-B's and 1-A but I was almost a straight A student in high school. Would you advise I go on with the application despite my waec result?

they have changed th new format, apparently you have to submit before submitting the needed documents. oh and there is also no ´submit´ button when u fifnish uploading everything... its pretty confusing honestly
I didn't take any English proficiency test but media of education is English in my country. To keep the deadline for application, can I apply with out the test score? if so, what are the steps?
Please for the acadamic transcripts do they need the ones which have been accessed by the US educational board or you can send them directly from your files?

Hi. I have a complicated question. So in the high school section. I attended one school from class 9-10 and another school from class 11-12. So for the attending date and finishing date should I put down for the class 11-12 Which is essentially 2 years.
You should still separate them, is it not allowing you to do that?

About the IELTS part. What do they mean by highest listening or speaking score? Like aren't we suppose to put it in the official score we got ? Do highest mean something else?
It initially asks for your highest TOTAL score before the other specific sections. And it means highest assuming you have done the English test more than once.

How can I submit essay and other documents? Can I submi through online portal? I just heard that international students must submit all the supporting documents through post office and there is no online process.
Hello, everything should be submitted online as in this video. The post office process was used in the past, not anymore.
Hi Esther! Actually I have 2 questions. My first question is the following: For the translation of our school exam results, how do we proceed if we come from a French speaking country? Hi! You have to translate any non-English documents. You can seek translation services in your country.

Hello, so I checked the older form and realized that the section you mentioned was not included at the the time. What I would suggest is that the person should write any other information that they want to say about your financial situation (besides the specific information requested in the first 3 parts). The top three sections are limited to sources of income and barriers to higher ed so they might have something else to say about other problems they noticed that reflect a low status. It could literally be anything. Like if they’re your teacher, they can say something about how they noticed that you didn’t have certain things you needed in school, stuff like that. That’s just an example, would differ for everyone.

Sorry, if I am asking a lot of questions. But I really am confused about quiet a few things. The part where we have to say if we have a sponsor or not. You said if you're doing everything by yourself then you don't have to put yes. Now I'm doing everything by myself, but little amount of money my parents can provide they'll give. So the sponsor is for the money right? So should I put yes in that case?
If you’re doing most of it by yourself, I don’t think you need to include anyone else. However, if they’re contributing a significant amount e.g paying your deposit for you, then you should list them

Hi, they’re different. A transcript is a record of your results throughout high school. A testimonial would not include that. You can add your testimonial under additional documents though

You need a certified copy of your WAEC, not just a printed copy.
Then yes, you will upload scans/photos of those documents to the right sections
One question about stating the other colleges I apply to. If I don't write any other name ( but I'm actually applying to a few other colleges) will they be notified by coalition app in some way or will they get to know about it any other way? Because at the same time I don't want to look like I'm lying about it if they are in anyway able to find out about it. Would be really grateful if you know something about it.
Hello, I do not have the perfect answer since I am not a college official. However, based on information known to the general public, no, they will not know colleges you apply to 😊

@@juliastoffel6784 Yes, your teacher uploads it for you. They just need to create an account and will be prompted on how to proceed. Otherwise, you can give them the provided recommendation form and upload it yourself

Hi! My high school provided transcripts so I was able to get mine from them. I would suggest trying to reach out to your school to see how to make it work! Otherwise, you could ask the Berea admission office about using your WAEC only.

My personal locker is different from my Berea locker cause I picked ( I didn’t attend any college ) but in the Berea college it was showing (attended 2 years )

Do you mean remain in the States? Yes, international students are allowed to apply for one year OPT post graduation. STEM grads can get 2 additional years

Yes, you can submit that lor but I strongly suggest using the Berea one if possible/in addition to the other.

Hello does Berea College require maths for every student or for students wanting to pursue Arts programs?
Hello..No, Berea pretty much works with what your country requires of you. So as long as you graduated high school, it wouldn’t matter if you didn’t do math. You might need to take one or two basic math classes for certain courses when you come (even though you want to pursue Arts) but if you don’t take any of such classes, you will be fine.

Hi! You can print it and ask the person to fill it out, return it to you, and then you scan it onto the application portal.
Or, you can enter their email address in the portal so that the person receives the recommendation form to fill it online. This way, you wouldn’t need to print.

Hey, in the honor and distinction part. Is the distinction in like extra curricular activities or can I mention if I got like 98 out of 100 in maths or things like that?
It could be academic or extra curricular honors/distinctions. But you must have been recognized for it in any form maybe via an award or verbal/public recognition.
So it’s not just getting a good grade although that is nice - there has to be a form of official recognition for that achievement.
Maybe top 10% in class, best student in a subject, most hardworking student leader, etc, stuff like that. Note that something like a high GPA can be listed without any specific award so that can be included

Officially, you need to have all your documents sent at once. However, Berea can be flexible sometimes so you can reach out to the college’s admission office; they might grant you an exception.

Hello, 12th grade is the last senior high school year only. Each of the three terms is a trimester so three terms/year = three trimesters/ year.

I do not have a specific response to that; you would have to email Berea. However, I would like to think that it is refundable; I don’t see how it would be okay for them to keep it.

@@orlandocastoperlitas9413 your high school records/transcript during the application must be official copies (certified by school officials or notarized) and your bank statement is pretty much from the bank so yeah they don’t ask for it once you’ve submitted them during your application
