- A video in which I discuss all the costs connected to the Audi A2 ''restoration''. Of course the costs went over the budget that was planned. Was it still worth it?

Your videos are excellent, and a real help. I also have an AUA engine, and I have spent a lot paying professionals to restore it from the £1k car it was. Timing belt, water pump, brake/clutch fluid, fuel filter, air/oil filters and oil, pollen filter, Yaw sensor (lateral movement one- mine is an old car with 2 sensors...), anti-roll bar replacement at front, 4 new tyres, powder coat all wheels, new OEM centrecaps. My OSS has failed, and the car also needs bits respraying if I am fussy. Phew!
Ah, you got away a bit cheaper than I will. 😅 I just checked that during this year I will need to replace the timing belt with all the accessories, thermostat, brakes all around and clutch... On top of those it might need a whole suspension overhaul with KW Variante 1 so in total, I will need to invest over 3k€ in it this year. 🥲 Have to just start somewhere and this is what you get when you neglect the maintenance for a few years, all the big ones are due at the same time.
But thanks for the video, I'll probably sort the throttle body on my thanks to you, and doing those repairs will be worth it. ✌
Very useful information. Just bought my A2 2001 with LPG. I also have a problem with the clutch working too high at the end of the range. Looks like you'll need to replace the whole thing. In addition, the car is very nice for its age, well equipped, there is no rust and it can drive 600 km on the entire LPG tank (42L). Which makes me very happy with today's fuel prices :)
Watching this as I'm one by one unbending the fins on a used replacement intercooler for my 1.4tdi (ruined it myself with a pressure washer, very dumb).
Don't have my expenses file handy, pretty sure I've spent a thousand on just air conditioning and partial webasto repair. Hoping to finish installing the replacement webasto myself this summer, if I left it up to the "professionals" that'd be another cool 1k or more.
It is really cost effective if you have the knowledge, place and tools to do the work yourself. And this keeps such cars on the road.
Hello, why do you never change the Agr?
where can you buy a gearbox mount for 1.4 16v petrol ?
Sorry, I do not have this info. Check car parts shops and scrapyards.
@@MtlCarGarage The problem is that used ones are no longer available and new ones are not being produced. If the cushion is damaged, only polyurethane remains. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a shop that sells these parts.
