Gregor from Presonus has a comping video that shows a way to set up hot keys to promote next layer and previous layer to your main comp track even while the layers are hidden. Amazing way to comp more quickly.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I use ableton and pro tools now and I love pro tools audio editing. I used to use Logic for recording but switched to PT. However Pro Tools feels so old school. I think S1 may be my next DAW
I only record my bass parts...I usually don't do FULL production like you.. I used Protools, Sonar, and Cubase in the past. I turned to Studio One 7 or 8 years ago. I LOVE IT. Its easier and faster than all. Going edits are seamless. U Agree with you . The Stock plugins are fantastic! Ampire is only OK for bass though, probably great for guitar.. .So I bought the new Brainwork B15 and the new Ampeg suite and a few Waves Compressors for fun. SO 1 is an ALL in great one stop DAW
@@forestwhitehead PS. Love yoru channel.. Usually its my bass, ( p bass, Jazz bass, Hofner , 4 or 5 string etc) into a REDDI tube DI > 1176 > Presonus 1810. Then I mic a small 112 bag end cab with my small Ampeg head with a RE20. I need to get an Audix D6. They have a little inherent mid scoop that works well on my 112 cab . I borrowed on and loved it , so i need to go buy one. But the new Ampeg suite Plugin can pretty much eliminate me micing a live amp. Its really good! Then sometimes i use my Helix.. Love it . .
@@forestwhitehead PS .. Im actually on the market to upgrade my Interface. Since there was no NAMM this years I am waiting to see if Presonus comes out with something new. Or maybe another brand interface. But for what I do the 1810 does what i need. Always looking though. The Apollo look interesting .. Everyone is using them

@@svtbass I really love them. Have owned several and dont plan on switching it up. If you do go apollo, get the latest blackface.
Great sounding song! I like what you did with Melodyne to create harmonies; never really though about doing it this way.
Between you and Joe Gilder, I’m getting ready to switch to Studio One 5.
Great vid Forest!! It certainly is an excellent daw. Maybe I'll try have try it, just for vocals though. Logic is my queen!! Lol
Logic has been my main for years. I got a side chick and her name is studio one 5. I totally get it. Whatever works for you!
Amazing video been in Logic about 2 years but I’m definitely going back to S1
Watching from the UK, loving your channel
S1 is a great daw I still use Sonar from time to time. That is also a great daw for certain things but I enjoy mixing in Studio 1.
Ts my all time favorite
Just discovered your channel and lovin' the vids. Could you please do one on how you record and mix electric and acoustic guitars?
Glad you are here and I will absolutely do this for you. Are you in Studio One or Logic?
I'm in Studio One 4.6.
@@ronalddemarse2344 Im about to upload a video using ampire in a track it sounds awesome dude
@@forestwhitehead Thank You very much!
I got to say you sir are great at what you do.. How do you get your songs to sound so full?
Thank you! I'll show you how.
Love❤
💜💚💜💚💜
I've been using it for vocals and mixing
Then you already know how awesome it is.
S1 is very user friendly in both pre and post production, mixing mastering drag and drop, but lacks in synth and keys like in Logic. Hope in vers. 6
Do you mean the way it handles midi in general or the stock synth sounds and presets?
@@forestwhitehead I mean the stock synth, Logic beats S1 on that no contest.
Hey Forest, i hav a request, plz arrange my song 🙏🙏
Most people that sing can't sing. lol
