    the one thing i think seek outside should change (by the looks of it, dont own one) is that they should sew mesh on to the head/foot sides where the bathtub meets the fly, since if condensation runs down it would run through mesh instead of into the bathtub..
    I love the idea of the no zip design for freezing conditions and sand damage that typically happens to zips.

      Ill mention that to them for consideration

    Love your channel. Been watching you for 2 years now. Love all the places you take us. And the views are epic. Living in Florida you don’t see any of that. So see ya next time.

    Camping up on the hill's this time of year must be freezing cold I enjoyed my summer camps but sitting in front of a nice fire in the woods will do me 😂😂 I will probably get out on the hill's next month just to see if I like it atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍

    The tent looked windier and wetter inside than outside!

    I set up a lanshan 2 with an inner the other night. I didn’t even sleep in it, and the condensation on the fly inner was unbelievable. It’s just the time of year I’m afraid.

    That's my only real issue with single-skin tents, condensation. I've only one single-skinner, Lanshan2 Pro, and only been out in it once...... You can guess what happened. Down sleeping bag, down pants, down jacket(s).... Big mistake. I ended-up buying an Alpkit Hunka XL bivvy bag to use with it, which sort of defeats the object of a single-skin (the Hunka XL weighs 500-odd grams). For summer time or guarenteed good weather I can see the sense of s/skin, something like the Pennine Way or any other multi-day hike, but for 1 or 2 nights in the hills it's double skin all the way for me. Glad you've got your mojo back Stephen, looking forward to your upcoming content. ATB

      I hear what your saying buddy and it kind of echoes my thoughts exactly. This will be great for the warmer months. I have the guardian from them which is dual layered and has many more guys out points.
      I’ve got something special lined up for a few of my next vids 😉

    Hi Geordie,
    One of the reasons you may have been cold could have been from using a bivvy bag.
    A sleeping bag or any insulated item of clothing needs to be able to ‘loft’ in order to work most efficiently. One of the greatest improvements in sleeping technology in recent years has been the introduction of “insulated” air mattresses as these cover the weak point of any sleeping system - the lack of insulation from the sleeping bag being underneath you as it is compressed when you lay on it.
    When you use a bivvy bag you put a layer between your sleeping bag and your insulating mat and when you move during the night you often compress the sleeping bag which cannot loft again as the bivvy bag may be restricting it. These can both make you colder than normal.
    Bivvy bags do work and are excellent bits of kit but when using them you should consider 2 things: 1. Putting your sleeping pad in the bivvy bag with you. 2. Using a higher rated bag to allow for any cold spots from being compressed by the bivvy bag.
    This is just my thoughts from many years of camping all around the world.

      yeah absolutley bang on buddy. The bivvy was a small size so couldnt fit the wide pad in. Didnt want to waffle on the video about it all haha - some sound advice thank you.

    Single skin in winter is pretty badass in my book.

  • @chrisweldon2817
    @chrisweldon2817 Рік тому +1

    Majority of my tents are single skin including one from you 😂 I often use either a tyvek bivy (quilt style one) from Ali Express or the MLD Mountain bag liner as a bivi for condensation. I've a borah DCF bivy on the way for next year. It's horses for courses and everyone likes different things. Cracking video as always.

      @thegeordiewildcamper  Рік тому +1

      Yeah Chris, im not sure it’s for me. Maybe when it’s freezing it may be a bit better! I’d need to invest in a lighter bivvy I think 🤣

    Hmm I like the look of the tent seem like the same material and color as X-Mid? Anyway did you get any water on the floor from water dripping down the walls and needed to wipe with the towel or something? Cannot see any mesh there for the water to escape?
    Would be interesting to see whats their best tent for hiking or comparison between this one and other Guardian tent etc.

      They have the silex which is a one person version. No drips until I started moving about in the morning. I’ll be testing the guardian in winter and some other options from seek outside.

      @@stigfloberghagenphotographyyeah I’ve often thought that but it does detract from the quality. Easiest was to test is just to use your phone and see how you feel about it
