Good review! I just got 3 of them. I put one in the shop so I can monitor my CNC and 3D printer from my phone inside the house. I put one in a front window and one in a back window. So far they've worked great and been really handy to see when packages arrive, or when people come and go. We would like to be able to disable the mic though. There is a setting to record video only, but the mic is always on when anyone you've shared the camera with is watching live. Ours are shared with everyone in the house, so anyone watching live can hear conversations. Just have to be aware when talking about presents or private stuff. There are cases you can 3D print from thingiverse to protect them outside, although they are sold as indoor only cameras. Night vision doesn't work well through windows. The cables could be longer, so plan on buying extensions depending on where you put them.
Just a little correction ... they don't have smoke detector or CO detectors built in .... they can detect and react to the alarms of each and send you notices if you set that up.
I'm trying to setup the wyze cam v2 for the second time and the camera just isn't responding, the first time I was able to carry out the setup without any hazzels. How do I setup the camera again ? The part where the camera responds ready to connect is where I'm stuck at. Kindly revert.
just got them myself; they have to be plugged in and meant for indoors. but amazon has a little house you can buy, some people have talked about in reviews. i plan to try that
Lori Parks yes a housing can be bought from a guy who uses a 3D printer. I’m assembling mine now, I learned of it all from my brother in law who has several operating outside.
I put a Wyze under the eaves of my shop, has been a couple weeks now and no problem even down to -25* C. They don't have an outdoor camera right now but have said they'll be releasing one by the end of 2019.
got them all up and running, have no issue connecting remotely. shared them with girlfriend and relatives, they have no issue either, some across the country. Love em. idk about Yi Home cams honestly.
*Correction: the Wyze Cam does not have have smoke and CO detection, it only detects the sound of the smoke alarm or CO alarm.

Yes you could, just follow the same instructions and you both will be able to see using your own phone, hope this helps

Trying to get new cam set up on OPEN wifi (no password) and cant seem to get past where it finds my wifi and asks for password. ??? Help
Is this wifi or do you have to have 12V power?
The camera needs to be electrical powered but then uses WiFi for connectivity

They do have outdoor cams, the regular are not outdoor but I believe the outdoor are only 50$. full pan and tilt capability from your app also

Yes in settings you can invert the image 180-degrees so you can mount it upside down

It is a piece of garbage. I bought last two months, but every week has some issues. It is very cheapest, but not a good product.
