How has nobody else commented on the great metajoke of the bassist turning his amp to 1 at the start. Great cover
I saw it, did not care to mention it. Do you mean that Jason Newstead had his bass sound tuned down by the danish drummer, you know, the boxer shorts wearing genius behind the cymbals?!?!?! :)
And in 2003 they traveled to Africa to record Master of puppets.
Hahaaaa, had me howling there! 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Lmfao
Master Of Puppets has turned 35. on 3rd of March this year, 9 days ago
Hhhhhhh that's funny man
Now THIS is how you do a cover. Extremely respectful towards the original song, but giving it the band's own style.
nmlss what he says⬆️
except when the song being covered is a Masterpiece - changing it in ANY way RUINS it.
@@hifinphoto STFU, you whiny little dick. The original song still exists, it hasn't been "ruined".
@@hifinphoto
I don’t think Metallica can play it 100percent true to the album.
It takes a lot of editing to achieve the ajfa masterpiece.
These guys did a phenomenal job
Some people would say this is too heavy but I think it’s awesome and think Cliff would love this
Otis Moran oh hell yeah
It really is astonishing to think how James comes up stuff like this. He's an incredible song writer. Not forgetting Lars of course but James just blows me away.
look who wrote the song, most of this song is Cliff
@@GTRAIN1982 wrong.
James did.
Total fallacy that this is a burton written piece.
He penned the lyrics.
You're welcome.
Unexplainable, those James's AJFA riff tapes are something else. 7:42 for example, magic. Also harmonies with that evil guitar tone.
The Man showed James about music theory and harmonies, long live Cliff!!!!!!
Regardless of who wrote the song blah blah blah.. we’re missing the point… Lars is not a good drummer.
Not even the wrong year can ruin this it's amazing
The beauty of doing a proper cover is to make it your own. And you fellas did just that.
I loved your interpretation of it from start to finish. The guitar effects on the intro/outro, the subtle riff changes in some of the chords...friggan amazing.
This has to be one of the BEST Metallica covers I have ever heard/seen, hands down.
I did not.
Salute..
For sure
It's almost better
Definitely made it your own I got so hyped! Fan!💯💯💯💯💯
0:39 bass 0, check.
And justice for all is THE album without bass, you can't even ear it on the album. Perhaps is it just a reminder full of humor ?! ;)
Why do people always complain about the lack of bass on AJFA, although you can't hear it on RTL or MoP either?
@@Osmosis87 ???? you can actually hear the bass in both albums you mentioned
@@kat-sd9nm Well, barely. Metal is known for the lack of audible bass. I dont get why it gets mentioned only on regarding AJFA.
LMFAO, that's funny right there. Lol
First of all It was 1988 not 1998. second they recorded it in Los Angeles not Scandinavia.
Thanks for clarifying which was first and which was second
@@meteor09 aren't you clever
How does one put this much effort into making a video a fuck up something that simple
I was wondering why they said that too lol I was like "Why is some one who has no idea about this album, talking about this album" lol
I could understand a typo for the year, but where did the idea that Metallica recorded in Scandinavia come from?
Where is Orion and Call of Ktulu??? Can't wait
yeah! me too
please no....i would hate to hear them ruin Orion.....
What about Anastasia (pulling teeth)?
@@Astrochronic i think they would do a good job
@@cristorres9547 Anesthesia (pulling teeth)
Anastasia is a name of girl
Hetfield’s solo is one of the most beautiful things ever man wtf
Hetfield made some of the best guitar solos (MOP, Nothing, Orion) second only to Cliff (Orion). Kirk is ok too with some outstanding highlights (Fade to Black, Unforgiven)
@@SonsOfDeForest the fast bass solo in orion was played by kirk on guitar and cliff translated it to bass
*goes right into dyers eve
There will never be another Hetfield/Ulrich. Those two gave us some of the best music ever created.
Kirk hammett: *sigh*
and cliff
Did u like "Hardwired"? Just curious.
@@SuperRoo_22 I like it for the most part.
Manunkind, Murder One and Am I Savage should have never made it in the album.
@Richard Skipper wrong, Lars and James has always been the driving force of the band. Those 2 are the ones who put in the extra man hours in the studio making the arrangements of the songs.
That intro was gorgeous.
I have been a Metallica fan since the mid 80´s and I can only praise what these guys have done with the song. This version is beyond great, great work!
QFT
Still makes me weep for the loss of Cliff, a man we never got to know but through legend.
Cliff Burton is my favorite musician ever. To Live is to Die is a great tribute to him and this is an awesome version.
Beautiful reworking of the intro
I am happy this exists.
we're happy your channel exists.
The last song credited to the great one. R.I.P. Cliff
Metallica took the emotion to a new high when they recorded instrumental tracks with no vocals. Most people, and still do, think lyrics in songs give them a perspective of communication,
until they heard HEAVY METAL MUSIC WITH NO LYRICS amongst the metal world. This is one of the best to sink into. Ride the lightning, Master of Puppets had absolute bangers but this spoke the loudest to me. RIP CLIFF. You always spoke a SALVATION FOR ALL OF US TO TAKE HOME!!!
Well done lads!!!!! 🙏🙏
Well done!!!!🤘🔥🤘
Wow... just... wow...
An amazing cover, of an amazing classic! You boys did it justice! (Pun not intended lol). You can really tell how much each of you love the source material. Would love to hear more in the future! Now, get this version printed on to some sweet vinyl so I can buy it haha
Oh, and also, you’ve gained yourself a new subscriber. I’ll definitely be checking out your original work!
This might be the best cover of any song that I’ve ever heard!! Simply amazing!!!!!!
I like this cover for it is raw. No overdoubs or cuts. One take with all the imperfections wich i think it makes it natural, organic and overall more pleasant. Just 3 players and that's it! Congratulations, gentlemen! 🙏🏻
theres definitely overdubs
@@bored7772 I believe that solo the bassist played on guitar was overdubbed, the rest (as shown at the end of the video: main guitar, bass and drums) was recorded live in one take
But still great cover nonetheless!!!
@@underinfluence8251 sure the main guitar but the main guitar is probably layered 3 or 4 times plus all the leads pretty much impossible to not overdub with 1 guitar when in some parts of the song theres 4 guitars doing different things at once
Ever since I’ve heard this cover I listen to it daily. The tone on the clean section at around 5 minutes 50 seconds is almost dream-like. A very captivating cover of one of the best songs ever written.
Congratulations.
1988** sounded like you said 1998? Lol But dude holy shit is this cover incredible!
@Agnaye Ochani Scandinavia had and still has great musicians.
@Agnaye Ochani Meshuggah is my favorite too! Ok, maybe you're right. have never been interested in that kind of stuff.
@@victorklimov5254 you are cringe
he absolutely did say 98
If by incredible you mean, "completely missed the tone" then i agree.
I'm happy that I'm not the only one to think that "...And Justice For All" is an unbelievable album
Im a purist.... lets say a PURE METALLICA Fan . Thought no one could do a cover as great as their songs... any o their songs are.... and here you are... making it possible... just RESPECT!!!
The best cover of this song on all the internet not just youtube, fucking amazing!
This is absolutely stunning! Great work, you guys. I can hardly find a words, to describe how beautiful this cover is. Thank you!
AJFA was not recorded in Denmark in 98, it was recorded at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles '88, where they also made the black album a couple years later.
Straight in my favorites playlist! Thx guys 😁
I thought before watching.. hmmm I wonder what To Live Is To Die would sound like when played by sleepmakeswaves. This is exactly what I thought. Totally awesome version guys. You know you have made it when you have a sound, and that sound comes through even in a cover! Love ya work and look forward to seeing you in brissy soon!
amazing sound and tribute ... refreshing !!!
Daaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!! This is so solid and thicc!!! Loved it a lot!!!! Great cover, great musicians ❤ reminds me a lot of Woods of Ypres also! Love your music guys!
I have never been so taken by a cover quite like this! The heart and soul you gentlemen put into the composition is absolutely outstanding!!!!!!! I'm blown away by the articulate sounds and technique.!!! My hats off to you 🤘
I can hear the bass
Wait, the bass player turned his volume UP at the beginning of the video. Is this authentic lol?? Just jokes. A great tribute.
Actually he turned it down 😂 gotta make it accurate
he turned up all the dials but made the “master volume” zero. Perfect!
I sat in awww as this video played... amazing work guys so good 2 see 3 dudes in such sync with passion 4 music.. amazing
Absolutely loved it.
Standing ovation.
Very fucking good! Thanks for this worth every minute! RIP Cliff.
Besides the bass player doing the guitar solo...this cover was pretty damn incredible I must say
That solo by the bassist would have been fine if the guitar he used was in tune. Could have been an intonation issue as well. Besides that and the first solo being way too loud this is a damn fine cover.
stumbled across this video and absolutely love it! the rendition was amazing, and the video was a great mixture of professional/amateur musicianship that anyone who's ever played in a band at any level can appreciate. Fantastic work!
Love this!! - one of my all time. Such groovy drums!!
amazing job, respect from France
…And Justice for All was recorded in early 1988 at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
there is a F A C T
anyways this song was written by cliff around 84, 85.
@@kadewoodtechfolder sorry, but it wasn't, there is a video in youtube explaining that
I've listened to this so many times since I found it... so good
Absolutely amazing,Gave me chills.Great work guys!!!
absolutely - keen to hear this in October at max watts *nudge nudge encore*
one of the best covers i ever heard, the part before main riff starts is just stunning. can i have flac ?
Beautiful cover in every aspect.... The creativity, mixing and the emotions it creates
This is freaking AMAZING. AMAZING. Great, great job guys! This is one of my favorite instrumentals ever, and you KILLED IT!
Dude they recorded this album in LA. Anyway, you guys deliver a brutal version of the classic. Amazing!
1998?.... 🤔
Great performance, and the best version of intro that I've seen for this composition. Thank you!
I love listening to this. Everytime, i come back to this its as good as the first time listening to it. Excellent cover of my favorite song on that album.
This is epic! Even if not 1998 and Scandinavia :)
Pretty good Lars drumming was top of his game during this era. I preferred his drumming (Lars) but this is very good.
The intro is amazing! 😮
Simply brilliant! Thank you!
Justice was recorded in Los Angeles in 88, not 98 :D
Ride and Puppets in Copenhagen.
@@troyarciable Eh. No. - I know that Cliff has co-written the song, but all of the Justice session is recorded in LA. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...And_Justice_for_All_(album)
this almost sounded like if mastodon covered this song and I meant it as a compliment
Amazing!! I need more covers!
Amazing! you did great. You kept the most important elements of the composition and gave it your own character. it's amazing and pays tribute to this great album and this composition.
5:38 That sound like U2 covering Metallica. Great job guys
👍
I'm sure you're not the actual James Hetfield, but that would be cool.
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Looking forward for more Metallica covers. You guys are amazing!
I’ve never been able to make that transition at the interlude as smooth as that. I can nail every measure of this song... in sections. I don’t give a damn about your technical ability. You boys are a talented bunch. Thanks for the video!🤘🏼
Heaps mad.
Good cover, guys. But please, just correct the 1998 reference at the beginning to 1988 and re-upload the video. You can't leave it like that.
And they didn't record it in Scandinavia like Ride and Puppets. It was recorded in One on One studio in LA. In the same studio they recorded Black album.
Amazing. Simply amazing. Thanks for sharing this!
Absolutely breathtaking version of a timeless song! Great job
I did not know Eagles of Death Met.... wait!
Hahaha
It’s like Metallica but with more modern and heavier tone. I really like this cover guys.
Epic effort. Nice tone clean drums and clear and loud bass tones. Amazing guys.
Extraordinarily well done, guys. That intro and then when we hit the interlude, just couldn't hold back the tears. I'd like to think Cliff would really have enjoyed this.
Sounds heavier in Standard E
In 1998 Metallica recorded AJFA. Happiest 30th to live is to die
Math: am i a joke to you?
Absolutely beautiful!
Great version, really enjoyed it, looking forward to more.
Worst cover ever: I can actually hear the bass.
They needed another guitarist.....
there is no new kid standing there doing nothing
fadetounforgiven, SO FUCKING WHAT??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????????????????!!!
Igor Tokarski went right over your head.
@@bradenpryor7442
No. It went right over YOUR head.
“So What” is a song Metallica covered on Garage inc. Congratulations you fcking idiot.
I thought this was incredible except for the part where the bass player switched over to guitar...that solo was pretty weak
Agree his solo n the tone of his Jag were the only exception but otherwise an awesome cover
Have to agree with this
@James Lee says someone that doesn't know me AT ALL. I can actually play the entire song, and I can play that part better than the guy in the video. Not that that even matters. So, why don't you just fuck the hell off you pussy ass keyboard warrior.
@James Lee "Peasant" as a Offense? That was fucking clasist
@James Lee stfu james
First came the shivers down my spine. At the middle section the tears of joy came. This is how I approve music. And when tears of joy come, music is good. 😎
That's right mate
Really great ! You gave this music the amount of respect and the quality it deserved
The record was recorded in 1988 in California, not 1998 in Scandinavia. This is excellent works however.
it might have been mixed in CA but it was not recorded in CA
serigraph73 ... and Justice for All was recorded at One on One Studios in Los Angeles, California.
This song just doesn't work without harmonized guitars.
blown away by the sound and the reworking of the track!!
Love this! Awesome.
In 1998, Fred Durst wore some baggy pants and recorded something awful.
His stuff in the 90s was actually pretty top notch lol
something amazing *
@@pallbearer1175 amazing that someone with 23 chromosomes made a record and that people bought it, sure
shaves beard to look like Hetfield... but plays a hollow body. wtf?
Best Metallica cover i ever heard! Different but original! Lot of energy! Perfect! Thanks guys!!!
That is a really solid own interpretation of a marvellous song, very nicely and tastefully done, Lads !!!!
At first glance the guitar player looks like Seth Rogan
sounds good but you guys lost the tension that is in the song and thats what made it great but great cover none the less
Absolutely stunning cover!
Greeeeaaaat job guys, love it !
Your sound, killer song
Too damn drop guitar/bass tone, not my style.
Too much bass. :D
there can never be too much bass
That was the joke bro.
That's like saying there is to much drums
chuggs and Eugene must've never listened to ...And Justice For All.
Awesome guys.
James poured every sorrow in this song after losing his brother Cliff.
You did the absolute best job to interpret his music, what he felt. Absolute greatness! thank you guys! :’)
