I already did. I just purchased the 4k onn. The box is amazing. Get respond and fast as hell. I'm working on getting the 4k pro but waiting on long term use.
Those ONN devices aren't much better man. Look it up. Been reports of spyware on those devices also.

How can I block the updates on my older Firesticks without connecting to the internet?
Follow his directions in this video as well as turning off the Manage Sharing From Apps under Privacy Settings. They have to ask permission to do this per law.
Btw it’s not Updated you want to block, it’s permission.

I switched out my fire stick months ago with android/ Google ..Shield and Onn 4k pro..I’m tired of Amazon’s shenanigans and I tell you after converting to the Nvidia or Onn …I don’t think I will ever go back to Amazon fire sticks …I should’ve switched to Shield three or four fire sticks ago..I love the Shield and the Onn 4k pro

Ah, yes. Powered on a platform delivered by another large advertising data gobbling and monetizing conglomerate. Such privacy! But at least you have a 5 year old abandonware soc in the shield with no youtube hdr, no av1, no hdr10+, etc etc.

I think this is a issue for those in the U.K. considering how they're cracking down on streaming the country
Here in Canada, cracking down just isent an issue, I don't think anyone really cares.

It's the bots that push back. I don't trust any "users" anywhere, except from X, where Musk worked really hard to remove the bots

Under Privacy Settings, I have the option of Manage Sharing from Apps, which if left on allows supported third-party apps to share your viewing and content info with Amazon also. I suggest shutting this off too.
I've only got 109 gb n storage n have deleted a number off apps, all off cause the stupid updates to try n block yer apks n get yer data,

i highly doubt that simple switching of a button actually turns these things off, it's more than likely always being shared no matter what u turn off or on and that it's just likely there as a visual peace of mind

I got tired of amazon constantly running updates to disable 3rd party apps whenever they feel it's convenient...i picked up that new onn pro streaming box from walmart last week and put my firestick in the kitchen drawer. 😝

@@TechDoctorUK it's great so far. The only slight problem i have with it is the google assistant. I had to disable it because my phone reacts to it as well. So since my phone is usually less than 5 ft away most of the time if i need it i use that to operate the streaming box, or i just use the remote...it's a shame that google doesn't give you the option to change the wake up word like amazon does....
Also, for some reason i can't get some 3rd party apps to show up on the home screen under "my apps" (like your task killer app and anality speed test app), i have to use a file manager to find the app and use it from there. As such i tend to use those apps a lot less than i did on the firestick, (until they disabled them of course).
one thing i did notice right away is the sound output is a lot better than the firestick...it sounds much richer without me having to make any adjustments in the tv settings.
@@TechDoctorUK not sure why my comment got deleted but i basically said i like it cause the audio seems much fuller and richer without me going into my tv settings...what i don't like about it is i'm not able to see some apps on the homescreen, including your task killer app...i have to use a file manager in order to access it.

Using your Wolf launcher options for a few years where updates are turned off I now get a low storage warning constantly; looks like AMZ found a way around your setup. However this setup didn’t affect my Nvidia Shield.
I have not seen this option yet. (USA). Just this week I switched one of my TVs over to ONN because of my frustration with Amazon‘s locking up things on the fire stick.
