@@PineMartin-jd9sp Testing via a virtual device is a poor test as a virtual device will always be limited in its connectivity & ports. My Shields runs Android TV 11 and has no issues making local ADB connections. When you said "Widespread issue affecting Many devices" - I thought you would actually provide some real examples but instead you tell me to test via a VM.
And yet you can’t name a SINGLE device which also has this issue. Really silly to make claims without having any real evidence to back it up. I’ll reiterate - testing via a virtual machine (especially when dealing with network connectivity) is a poor test.
Doc my fireOS 6 has this issue of ADB debugging not working. I'm having major issues not being able to access your debloat toolbox. I have a Fire stick 4K. Keeps telling me "Shell is Busy". Another device is accessing Shell. What other device. I turned off my tablet. Toggled debugging OFF and ON and still can't get your debloat toolbox to work. Now I'm stuck with Amazon Kids and Prime video. Uggh Any suggestions or answers? Signed long time subscriber
Hi Doc, I have found a way around the Remote ADB Shell not connecting issue, I discovered this while trying to put the lean keyboard on my firestick lite. I installed Remote ADB Shell from the play store onto my phone, I then put my IP Address for my firestick onto this and connected, which in turn a message came up on my firestick 'Allow ADB Debugging?' and pressed ok. On your tutorial for the Lean Keyboard there are two commands to copy and paste into Remote ADB Shell, I did this and I now have the lean Keyboard back on my firestick, I am well chuffed Doc. If you make a video of this please just give me a big thank you, that's all & that would make my day. Hope it works for you. Now there is always a 'however' if you restart your firestick you have to repeat the process again. I have just typed them two commands into my notebook on my phone so it's easy to just copy and paste, no biggy really. I hope you and many others have found this useful.

The fix is ... throw that stick in a drawer and go buy an android box ...... as long as its not a proprietary box .. Roku etc you will never have this problem.

My 4K max (2ndGen) running Fire OS 8.1.02 is still allowing App Killer to run. I wonder if it's a deliberate ploy, to get users to upgrade to newer versions of Firestick /cubes?

How do we stop updates?
I'm happy with an old build and don't want A'zon messing with it.
Using Adblocker with TDUK update wiper and IPVanish SOCKS5 proxy server, set up according to TDUK method.
It’s been installed for about 6 months and has mostly kept OS updates under control.
If the setting in Adblocker lapses, the symptoms are interrupted playback. This seems to have happened a dozen times. When this happens my priority is to launch the TdUK update wiper and delete the downloaded file(s). Then to toggle the Adblocker setting back to blocking.
I haven’t noticed any VPN related slowing of internet speed. I stopped using the VPN telltale as I mostly stream on Real Debrid.
Can't stop them easy. You might use a VPN to block certain sites. But then the VPN has to remain always on at reboot
Settings -Applications -Appstore -Automatic Updates - Turn off or on
I found that even if I turn off automatic updates at some point the fire stick stops functioning properly unless I go ahead and do the update.

A class action lawsuit should be brought against Amazon once and for all or they should offer to refund everyone there money back who invested in Amazon streaming devices.

It's an Amazon product. They can do what they want within the law, and blocking apps using ADB is their right and lawful. Amazon are working on a new OS that will prevent all sideloading of apps too. It's thier choice. I don't agree with it, but it is what it is. Amazon are becoming a loathsome company.

After the update your TDUK apps are showing unavailable on the AppStore . I was setting up a friends 2nd device and 3:30 even though she’d paid for the apps for the first device. I’m assuming that’s what’s blocking the apps.

Debloat tool is not working on my Firestick 4k max. When I check a box and hit the play arrow up in the right corner I get this message “Shell is busy”
“Another device is accessing Shell, Disconnect the device and try again. “
Then is says “Toggle debugging off and the on” which doesn’t work.
Any suggestions?
Glad my favorite is the Nvidia Shield and still working. Also have a 2d gen FireStick and my cousin gave his FireStick 4K (no the new one), but really worry me that Amazon is killing the scene with these blocks and changes because the Firestick is my emergency backup if the Nvidia fail.
Can firestick updates be switched off, and would that give the stick the freedom we all want. If it can be switched off .... how ??

I think i’ll be using my nvidia shield tv and the pro version going forward. These constant cock ups from amazon pushing people away from their devices. I use the TDUK App Killer and the cache cleaner a lot and to not be able to use it on the fire devices is ridiculous.

adb still works from your smart phone to the firestick. I use a line command to delete cache. Wish I could disable the bloatware but don't want to pull the tigers tail. lol

@TechDoctorUK, Please help, I already had two options enabled on the Debloat before amazon blocked ADB, now I can't install any updates from amazon. It won't allow me to uncheck the options. It ays shell is busy, another device is accessing shell, disconnect device and try again. How can I update without resetting me firestick? I am not sure uninstalling the Debloat will fix the update issue. Thanks
If you have another android device or a PC, you can use that to make an adb connection to your device and issue the commands to enable the disabled packages again.

@@jamesshall5160 essentially you want to install "ADBlink" on your pc, its a gui driven free app. You then make an adb connection from that app to your firestick/firetv. Once connected, you can click on "adb shell" and you can then issue the commands to enable the packages. To enable the package (com.amazon.device.software.ota) the command is
pm enable com.amazon.device.software.ota

Both of my Amazon 4K Fire sticks are getting this message. Mine actually says that the another app is using the Shell and to turn ABD on and off. I did that as well as unplug the device. Then I re-initialize everything once plugging it in and I still got the same message.
I have a question I recently tried expanding storage via USB and OTG cable on my fire stick GEN, one 4K max. I have watched 1 million videos including yours and my USB stick. Plural are not detected it’s not even recognized to have the fire stick format for internal or external, I’ve tried everything from 16 Megabyte Sandisk through a converter to seven different USB thumb drives, including Kingston, Sandisk Samsung and others. I tried them with their original formatting. I’ve tried them all formatted to fat 32. I’ve tried them all formatted to fat not a single one is recognized. I literally bought a GEN two 4KMax yesterday Simply to see if it was a GEN one problem and the exact same thing happens. Nothing it acts like it can’t even see it. This be part of the ADB problem now.? To be clear I have soft reset factory reset manipulated cards tried file explorers multiple kinds. It just does not register the USB thumb drive. The OG cable works just fine and all the cards work just fine. Do you have any ideas?

I have several fire devices. Also have Chromecast, Roku, and a shield. I am buying a new TV and it will Not be Amazon. I feel they are going the wrong way. Going forward seems like a Roku type platform which I don't like anyway. Keep up the good content.

Is the Launcher Manager also disabled because of this ADB issue? Launcher Manager will not allow the Custom Launcher to work on my new 2nd generation 4k max but works on my other 4k 2nd generation max. Is anyone else having this issue?
Amazon now blocking ADB connections on Fire OS 6 such that Firestick Debloater won't open. Therefore, I uninstalled it.

Your app killer and cache cleaner was working on our 3rd gen firecube a couple of day's a go, but both of them aren't working on my Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max 1st gen.
The latest Amazon update has broken the ADB functionality which is needed by my apps, as well as apps like mouse toggle.
I would complain to Amazon chat and tell them you paid for something that you can't download any more.
Tell them the app was working fine before your device was updated.
My apps have not changed for months, its the Amazon update that has broken them.
You can also demand a refund as you paid for something that is not available/working any more.

Just paid for your app for Nvidia Shield Pro and it's not working on there either. Keeps saying connection failed
On your shield, ensure you enabled "Network debugging" in your developer options

I have the new FS 3rd gen 16g and it doesnt work on it.
Mod your apps so that they connect adb to wifi ip address not localhost. If you make a way to import a private adb key into the app then you can use the one from a pc that is already paired.

Onn is definitely doing great covering most people's needs at the $20 price point but I would really love to see a company properly challenge the Google TV market at $50-$100. No excuse for the shield to still cost as much as it does in 2024.

I think you have used the tduk speed toolbox and set the animation duration scale to 0. You need to set that as a higher number
