    you can adjust your steering end points. turn the wheel all the way to one direction and push the steering trim until it makes a long beep. That gives you a little more turning radius. liked the video.

      I have been eyeing it for a while. Finally pulled the trigger on it. And I am glad u did. It looks awesome sitting under the k5.

    All I did was put some brass injora rims with with their 62mm tires on and this thing crawls better than my Trx4m

      FMS has done an amazing job with this rig. 2 speed transmission and portals right out of the box. It's definitely one of my favorite rigs.

      What about tire rubbing with the 62mm tires? I have 64mm on it but hät to trimm the body…

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  Рік тому

      @Stefan Hofstetter Yes. 60+ mm will definitely rub. That's why I want with the MT Baja tires. Very scale looking and they don't rub.

    The ball bearings help really. One of my K5 has still the bushings (I am waiting for the bb‘s) and the difference is more than I have expected. The K5 were the first FCX24 which came with bushings. All the power wagons I have had the bb‘s. Shame, that FMS changed them….

      I agree. Traxxas started it, and now it seems like others are doing the same. Bushing ate for toys. Not Hobbie grade RCs. So I always switch them out.

    I got mine about a month ago and they must have changed the way they install those screws you were talking about for the steering because mine were installed they way you changed yours to ,and they are shorter and don't stick out the other side, or it could be the person who put it together,who knows.

    Thanks for the information and the running footage. What about tire rubbing while steering under articulation?

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  Рік тому

      No wheel rub at all. This setup allows perfect articulation all the way around.

    This is super exciting! I’ve really been wanting this rig but the performance just seemed a step below the TRX4m, but I feel like this setup gets close to matching. Would you mind doing a comparison between the two? Love to see how the match up on similar terrain now. Thanks for the hard work!

      There are tons of comparison videos out there. Well at least three or four good ones I've watched.
      They all seem to say the FMS is better and it definitely swayed me to go that route for my first rc vehicle

      Great idea. I am currently rebuilding my rock course. When it's done I will do a head to head comparison.

    I have those same wheels for my k5 but how did you get the nut on? Seems like you need to put a bushing or bearing inbetween the nut and wheel since theres no room to get a socket/tool in there

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  Рік тому +1

      I have a skinny T wrench that I use for these kinds of clearance issues. Or you can buy some Injora long hex nuts that stick out further.

  • @JUSTHAVEFUNRC
    @JUSTHAVEFUNRC Рік тому +1

    For those wheels you said you had to drill them out? Drill out the hex spacer?
    Or the actual wheel itself?

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  Рік тому +1

      The wheel itself. I 3D printed the hex spacers. They fit right up.

    Really dumb question....im new to the rc world, only had toys as a kid back in the 80s/90s, nothing 'serious'. Anyways...i have the k5 now, ive put metal driveshafts on, links etc. I hear alot of people talk aboit installing bearings.....im assuming they are on the transmission/front and rear ends? Thanks! Great channel!

    • @hyperc5249
      @hyperc5249  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, transmission and axes are where the bearings go. Smooths everything out and lowers resistance.
