This was an excellent food tour with a very knowledgeable and competent guide. All the food looked delicious. I've had them all when I lived in Taipei for a year. However, I am not a fan of stinky tofu. If you haven't visited yet, go to Shilin night market, great eats and lots of things to see and buy.

and the place you choose (maybe he choose ) are so special that i might don’t know it. btw I am a taiwanese.
But about what he said about bubble tea. It’s a little misunderstanding that usually you order a bubble tea is ponder milk that’s right. But you can tell the clerk that you want the really milk . you can choose what kind of milk you want. Of course you probably need to pay more money

The wet market in Taiwan is quite different from Bangkok and Hong Kong, it has clear opening hours. Morning markets closes around noon. Then by 3 pm, the evening markets open and close around 6. The morning and evening markets are in different locations too. I agree the wet markets in Taiwan are much cleaner than SE Asia. The only thing bother me is the cooked food and butcher shops may be located side by side instead of separated in different zones.

The steamed stinky tofu is one food Andrew Zimmern can't swallow, but you two were okay with it. It's true, even in California Asian communities, you will rarely find stinky tofu served without frying. Frying reduces the stinkiness and adds the crispy outer texture to the tofu.

That scallion pizza thing looked so tasty and so much better than the scallion pancake things we get here. Did they have any sauces with it? Not sure i'd ever try eating a soup dumpling whole again after getting burned in Flushing lol, was trying to be polite and not spit it out at the table.

Just started watching your show and have been enjoying it very much. I do have a complaint right out the door. At 0:26 listen till 0:33 and tell me what you hear? I am hoping it is not you both talking bad saying f*****G America. I know it could be a mistake but it is not. I still like your show and will keep watching and subscribe because I dig travel vlogs. If not for Globe Trekker and technology I don't think we would have any of this to show how wonderful other nations are. Keep your heart kind, your feet on the path, your eyes on the sky, and show love. Peace.

Hello, Jimmy and Tah. I came across your vlog and my interest was piqued because I lived in Taiwan for 3 years. I like the way you move around Taipei (although wondering if you'll leave Taipei for other wonderful areas of Taiwan..) I am really writing to urge you to put in a disclaimer somewhere that bettlenut can be an addictive health risk. It rots the teeth and gets you high. If you try it once, sure no big deal. But there are many uninformed and ignorant young people out there that would see you do this, and not research it. I worked as a teacher there and teens are the number one targets. Please do your part in not spreading it as a thing to do, but rather to avoid instead.

A good video but I still prefer self exploring than guided tours. Taiwanese are very fond of showcasing food items, fruits and other eatables. When I was in Taiwan in 2000 and during a guided tour, this was same, showcasing fruits and foods.
