Taiwan has a collection of food from all over the world aside from the local food, there are many japanese resto everywhere, foods from different parts of mainland china, mongolian and tibetan foods, famous southeast asian foods, indian subcontinental foods, and western cuisine apart from fast foods. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, there are many resto exclusively non-meat at local normal price.

I love stinky tofu. I had a layover tour in Taipei🇹🇼 two years ago before continuing my flight to San Francisco🇺🇸. I almost thought about bringing some stinky tofu as my snack during the Taipei-San Francisco flight, but there might be some American passengers who might get upset because of the stinky smell.

ximending is not a night market. its just a shopping district that does have a few vendors scattered around.
the main night markets in taipei are shi lin and rao he. which do get extremely packed almost every day and do have a lot of tourists.
other than that though they are the best night markets. the smaller more 'local' ones have the same thing you would find in the big ones. but less variety, and less special stuff. usually just the standard stuff. they are usually still pretty big and cool though. jing mei is really cool.
shi lin is the biggest night market and most touristy but its still probably the best one. its humongous and has an amazing atmosphere.

Another pure local night market I suggest you to try is the South Airport Night Market 南機場夜市near to the No.1 Fruit + Veggie Wholesale Market 第一果菜市場. It has one of the best sesame oil chicken soup of Taipei :) The MRT does not go there, thus really local :)

Its fun to watch the two of you with such different pallets try new foods.
    Keep up the fun videos.
P.S. When your in Thailand again try going up into Isaan (Northeastern Thailand), its a road less traveled being the poorest part of Thailand but it has a rich culture, great food and lovely people. I've been living here for seven years and love it.

Chicken “Ass” was actually NOT a proper translation for foreigners. We call it 雞屁股(Chicken butt) in Chinese but it is actually the tail of a chicken where their tail feather grows out.
No one really eat the Ass....:p

7:30 garbage in Taiwan is quite fascinating.. it's true there aren't a lot of public trash cans, yet streets are fairly clean, and garbage trucks play music so people know when to come downstairs to throw away their household trash.

Local night markets are the best; no crazy crowds whatsoever. Was in Taipei a few weeks and loved the lehua night market in new Taipei and was so much better than Raohe since it was so much easier to walk.

Bali definitely 1 of best destinations for vacation in east Asia, then Perth and Seoul. I always confused with foreigners who highly recommends City region in west Taiwan for vacation, what's the point in these night market? If someone talk about east coast, Orchid Island, and central mountain region in Taiwan, I'll say he has a good taste. But night market? I am from Taiwan.
