Wow. This is just mesmerizing. Here's how to make people happy: be one of the best bands ever, break up, then surprise people by getting back together... then do it AGAIN
Going to see you guys at the Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina June 3rd. I been a fan of you guys since I was a toddler I'm 20 now. So, I been a fan for a very long time. I'm from Orlando. I'm sorry to hear that Chris is so under the weather. I hope and pray that you get better soon Chris. Big hug for you Chris😊. Chris, I saw you in Ocala about a year ago, and recently i saw you in Orlando. Chris you are the one of the reasons I picked up the mandolin 7,6 years ago I have Cerebral palsy and can't talk so, the mandolin came a way of expression for me. I wish that I could meet Sean, Sara, and you at the concert I'm going to even though the Vip experience is sold out. Thank you guys for being a role model for me. This song is my favorite song on the record.
@@TheGumbyGuy Celebrants, Thinnest Wall(super fun live), Where the Long LIne Leads, Stone's Throw. Those are my standout favorites, I'd say. I did get to see them in concert and it was incredible. They played all my favorite songs and closed with Holding Pattern, which was amazing.
@@JazzGuitarNoob I would totally love to see them live, their energy is crazy just watching a video I bet seeing them in person is great. I'm glad you got to have that experience.
Awesome song and video! Chris, I used to see you play outside the library at Murray State before I knew who you guys were. It was super cool because I thought to myself, wow, that guy is good and should be in a band. Low and behold you were. I got to see you guys live at Murray State around 2000 , it was amazing!! Glad you are making new music!!
There's not many artists capable of taking social commentary and turning into great music. Guthrie is dead. Rage Against the Machine are all but retired. We still have Dylan and Young for now, but they're 45 years older than me. There's not only a place for this music today, but a palpable cultural void which it might be able to go at least some small way towards filling. It's good to have Nickel Creek in 2023.
Wow!!! Very well done, as always guys!!! It's weird, I've been around for literally decades listening to you, and I am very aware of the amount of creative brilliance standing there in front of the mic, but I'm never ceased to be blown away every time I hear something from you I haven't!!!!! Thank you, this was an unexpected gift on top of the crazy fun times from the Super KelceBowl parade here in KC yesterday!!!! I would've bet against anything making me smile even bigger after seeing such a large chunk of my hometown all in one place!!!! Well done!!! Seriously, you guys have yet to disappoint after all these years!!!! I'm thankful.
Saw them live in Dublin. It was a bucket list moment for my wife and I. Definitely top 5 music events we've been too. The guys were incredible. And this song was stunning live
One of my favorite songs, let alone Nickel Creek songs. Those lyrics though... make the coffee strong enough to get us to the wine... just wow. Beautiful work.
Y'all are so good. I was curious in the video if you'd be wearing in-ears because I never see anyone performing without them these days. The synchronicity you have with each other in rhythm and harmony is indescribable. Love it!
I’m really happy to hear American veterans like Nickel Creek and various other awesome bands keeping the genre alive and well. Thank you so much for what you do. ❤
That makes me wanna start drinking coffee at almost 50!!!! Somehow I feel you're totally nailing it!!! Even though one is Caffeine and the other is Morphine, but I bet they mix perfectly huh? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Absolutely Mesmerizing. So good to see this particular concoction of all that talent. Relative simplicity in song design and arrangement hits the heart with such immediacy.
Lyrics: Washing my hands Through the night can't Sleep for the sirens Screaming one man's freedom's Another's fever That keeps rising Along with this sneak-attack sun But I promise hon I can make the coffee strong enough To get us to the wine In a holding pattern Remembering when We could land in Any old weather Singing nothing's so wrong That the right song Can't make it better But when will the aerosols fly Through the stage lights Towards the front row of my Next audience I wonder In a holding pattern Circling around Won't ya hold me darling Til the wheels touch down Here in your arms A chorus of alarms Sounding like vespers Your lips to my ears Don't forget we're Alone in this together Glory to every true love As it once was As it is now and just might have to be forever In a holding pattern Circling around Hold me and I'll hold you darling Til the wheels touch down We're in a holding pattern So hold me darling While the world burns down
I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but I say thank you to NC and the band for being there every season of life. Started listening to them back in 2003, and have enjoyed every album (And I’m glad they came back after the Farewell for Now tour😅).
Best music y'all have written in decades. Not that I don't appreciate all of it, but you can really tell y'all are in similar places now. Dynamics are outstanding and the harmonies are tight. Brilliant. 👏
Yeeeessss!!! It’s been way to long since I’ve been blessed with your musical talents, I only came here because I had seen you was part of the lineup for the long road festival. I’m off to get some tickets 😀👍
The first time I saw them THEY were the kids!!! I think 11 and 12? And yeah, I turn 47 this year and I've been in love with them for about 30 years!!!! Life is absolutely crazy, unpredictable, chaotic.....also incredibly beautiful, enduring and mystifying! My favorite part of it all is music. Simply because of the unpredictable aspects!!! I would predict this group of brilliant and innovative minds has got to have at LEAST 10 million subscribers.....uhhhhh.....is that correct? 28..... THOUSAND????!!!!!!! WTF is wrong with the other 8 BILLION???!!!!?!?! I don't think I've heard one of their songs that made me think, Hmmm....this kinda sucks..... That's because they have yet to write and/or record anything that sucks!!! Yet, here we are, just a few in 28 thousand.....😟 Usually numbers that small make me feel special, like I know something no one else does and it's frickin AWESOME!!!!! These folks have been killin it for so dam long that surely the world knows who they are and has heard something they absolutely love!! Where is the world again? Shakira has what? 60-70 million? I'm not saying she isn't talented to deserve those numbers but.......compared to the Creek here, she is Brittany Spears, dressed by a team of people, handed a sheet with lyrics and shoved in front of the camera, DANCE FOR THE CAMERA!!!! I'm getting way too far away from where Nickel Creek just had me!!!!! I gotta listen again and get back to SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!
I've been listening to Nickle Creek since I saw the music video for Lighthouse Tale on TRL circa 2000. Havent ever been able to see them live until this year when I'm seeing them at their Cincinnati show in April. soo excited for it.
Wonderful! I've heard our minds extend into our instruments. How far down does that go? When you play together, are you all the same? Imagine being that close - kisses in a chorus.
New Nickel Creek music in 2023?! What a time to be alive!!! 🙌❤️❤️❤️
No truer thing has ever been said!
hold on to your plectrums ! :)
Oodelally!
Cool to see Chris breaking out the mandola.
"I can make the coffee strong enough to get us to the wine...", is so gorgeous, love that lyric.
Wow. This is just mesmerizing.
Here's how to make people happy: be one of the best bands ever, break up, then surprise people by getting back together... then do it AGAIN
For the 2nd time! ❤
Standing in the audience with my partner hearing this live is a memory I'll cherish forever. Thank you!
Nobody does it like these guys. Most underrated musicians of my time.
Fantastic snaps. That line "we're alone in this together" hit perfectly. Beautiful performance & song & video.
20+ years listening to Nickel Creek and I still haven't found a song I don't love. I'm so glad y'all are releasing new music again.
Don't ever stop singing !!!! It's therapy for sadness never stop please
So excited for this album! Love seeing Sara play guitar
this album is going to get me through this hard week--election 2024.
Damn. I'm a stickler for your older stuff, but I think this is actually one of your best songs!
Nickel Creek has “ changed my brain chemistry” ❤️😊
Amazing performance at the Tennessee Theatre, thank you!!

This is in competition for my favorite song on the album. It's so atmospheric.
Ditto. The snaps in concert are immersive.
@@gtrguy5851 I'll be seeing them in June. I can't wait.
what's it in competition with? it's hard for me to pick a favorite with how great the whole album is. I'd be curious to hear your top picks.
@@TheGumbyGuy Celebrants, Thinnest Wall(super fun live), Where the Long LIne Leads, Stone's Throw. Those are my standout favorites, I'd say.

I’m convinced that no matter what artists I discover that I’ll still come back to nickel creek.
I'm truly excited for the album & the upcoming tour. Time to fall back in the creek.

I've waited a LONG time hoping Nickel Creek would show back up in my feed.... That day has ARRIVED!
This is the Nickle Creek we love! So raw! So natural.
So happy to see new music from Nickel Creek!

Omilort i had a shiver in this first chord. You are my favorite across three decades now
So so good!!! And it makes me to happy to see Nickel Creek playing together again!!! 🙂
Stunning as always! It's so good to see the gang back and inspired.
Saw them live in Dublin. It was a bucket list moment for my wife and I. Definitely top 5 music events we've been too. The guys were incredible. And this song was stunning live
God: Would you like extreme technical talent or thoughtful and tasteful song writing ability?
Nickle Creek: .....yes
These new songs…. I don’t know how to take them other than in awe. Really looking forward to the new record, now.
One of my favorite songs, let alone Nickel Creek songs. Those lyrics though... make the coffee strong enough to get us to the wine... just wow. Beautiful work.
Oh. I didn't realize anyone was allowed to write music this good.
Get Iron and Wine vibes from this one, stunning performance

this song grows on me. I had to see and follow the excellent lyrics for it all to come together for me. Lovely
Hypnotisingly brilliant.
Whoah. This really 2023? Woot!
I’m really happy to hear American veterans like Nickel Creek and various other awesome bands keeping the genre alive and well. Thank you so much for what you do. ❤
Running errands this morning and heard this for the first time... man, this is absolutely beautiful
Still making songs about people in relationships who can't commit or communicate... with the most beautiful harmony ever
Oooohh this groove is so right with my first cup of coffee today.
That makes me wanna start drinking coffee at almost 50!!!! Somehow I feel you're totally nailing it!!! Even though one is Caffeine and the other is Morphine, but I bet they mix perfectly huh? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Lyrics: Washing my hands
Through the night can't
Sleep for the sirens
Screaming one man's freedom's
Another's fever
That keeps rising
Along with this sneak-attack sun
But I promise hon
I can make the coffee strong enough
To get us to the wine
In a holding pattern
Remembering when
We could land in
Any old weather
Singing nothing's so wrong
That the right song
Can't make it better
But when will the aerosols fly
Through the stage lights
Towards the front row of my
Next audience I wonder
In a holding pattern
Circling around
Won't ya hold me darling
Til the wheels touch down
Here in your arms
A chorus of alarms
Sounding like vespers
Your lips to my ears
Don't forget we're
Alone in this together
Glory to every true love
As it once was
As it is now and just might have to be forever
In a holding pattern
Circling around
Hold me and I'll hold you darling
Til the wheels touch down
We're in a holding pattern
So hold me darling
While the world burns down
Thank you!
These are hands down the best lyrics I've ever heard from Chris.
Holding on to this tune while the world burns down, I thank you Nickel Creek. Amen
"A chorus of alarms sounding like vespers..." That's beautiful.
Gorgeous!!!!
Just realized you guys/gal had a new-ish release. This is just beautiful as always.
Ugh this is so damn gorgeous.
My GOSH that was beautiful. 😭

One of my most beautiful gifts in our world is new music from Nickel Creek!
Such a great moment to find out a new album is coming AND get a ticket to Milwaukee show🙌🙏
Super interesting to hear Chris give such a mellow vocal performance! Really beautiful work as always guys :))
Can’t love this enough! ❤❤so glad my favorite trio is back
I was at their St. Louis concert last night. It was spectacular!
Thanks!
Just saw you guys last night in Detroit and this song was the absolute BEST! Thank you for such an amazing show!
Good to know that the absolute chokehold that my crushes on every single member of this band had on me are ALIVE AND WELL.
I am beyond excited to see new music from you guys! Keep them coming!!!
You guys never fail to elevate in your music 🎶 💙💙💙💙
Love the texture of the guitar picking. Sweet.
Love it! The last two concerts I went to, Nickel Creek in 2014 and Punch Brothers in 2018 or 19. I'd love to see you again ❤
Saw you guys last night in Louisville. So beautiful
talent plus
WHEN THE BASS COMES IN. Magic
Can’t wait to see them in May!!!!!
Whimpering as the world burns. Love them, but dammit we GOTTA STAND UP!
Fantastic. I recommend listening to the lossless version.

Love this song!! So beautiful! 💗
Outstanding!
🎶New👂🏼worm!!
Amazing how difficult a softer song is to perform... so well done and with a beautiful skill! #swoon
Wow.. I've missed this so much.. thank you
Amazing
This is just exquisite.
Very, very nice!
i love these folks!
FIRE!!!!🎶💘🎶😇👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼
Very Powerful.
Perfection
Wonderful! I've heard our minds extend into our instruments. How far down does that go? When you play together, are you all the same? Imagine being that close - kisses in a chorus.
I also love how there was such a share of instruments. I'll stop now ;P
Sweet...!
Love this song❤❤
Impressive. The lyrics remind me of my own thoughts in periods of depression. All the best to You!
