This is the definition of a technical fighter. His conservation of movement, his reliance on mastered techniques and their intended application instead of attempting to use a larger variety of techniques with less skill and efficacy, his composure; anger is not your friend when fighting. Yes it can provide brief spurts of power, (i.e. kiai), but it decreases your problem solving ability in addition to your stamina. He has excellent foot work, knowing when and where to plant weight and throw strikes with balance and power. Stance is on a good 45 to limit exposure. Three basic yet highly effective and adaptable submissions are honed to perfection: guillotine, armbar, triangle. Phenomenal flexibility and strength in the mawashi geris and wheel kicks. Not to mention the slicing elbows and spear knees, topped off with a chin made out of the goddamn Altai mountain.
