I like how the kick boxers transition to MMA. They don't worry about learning wrestling wholesale. they just focus on Defending Takedowns and get ups and stay with what they're good at.
Artem Vakhitov and Artem Levin are two legends in my home town of Prokopyevsk, the only athlete that could compete with them in popularity is Grigory "Pretty Boy" Drozd who was WBC Cruiserweight Champion in boxing. I saw Artem Vakhitov in person in my university (Kuzbass State Techinal University) on my first day back in September 2012 as he was giving a speech for all the newcomers. He made a funny mistake in that speech that made all of us laugh and he also laughed at himself for making a mistake. Nice guy, he likes his home town and trains in Muay Thai school that is situated in 15 minutes from my home. Both he and Artem Levin are in the Wall of Fame of Kuzbass State Technical University for their phenomenal achievements in sport and their representation of the university as the place that makes legends.
@@davesmith826Not at all. He’s a Light Heavyweight, and if anything he will be fighting at 205 if he goes to the UFC. The light heavyweight division is 209 in Glory. Artem is already 32 years old and walks around well over 205. At that age weight cuts get harder, you won’t see him at 185.

One of the things I live about combat sports is there is always another guy out there that’s doing the work. When one guy gets too comfortable, another guy eats his lunch.
It's a shame his style doesn't translate well in MMA. His defense relied way too much on the gloves, his style is tailor made for kickboxing. He's very technical and defensively sound, but there's just no reason to migrate to a new sport where your best attributes are going to be liabilities.

That Glory 78, was a extremely contentious decision (deducting a point in the clinch was extremely unusual ….especially when most had Pereira winning decisively)
His Speed and Power 😮
Precision and timing will always beat speed and power, quick night at the office this will be for Adesanya!
@@unclemesfin6835how did Ngannou get the belt with nothing but power then
This guys an absolute unit. LH like this are scarier than heavyweights sometimes…
Good fighter ... heavy and accurate punches...
Yes you right heavy, accurate punches combined within a high frequency of combinations of punches that made this Russian fighter very effective and outstanding fighter.
Kicks ass brutally, goes home, plays classical piano.
The best martial arts channel in the world!
very interesting video. thank you!
Great video about one of the best kickboxers alive...🥊🔥🥊cant wait to see him in MMA...also can you do a video on his training partner and also kickboxing ex champion and one of the funiest fighters to watch in the world ARTEM LEVIN🔥🙏✌
I hope he's successful in MMA and makes a lot of money, he deserves it.
He lost to Poatan, clearly, but glory didn't want to leave 2 vacant belts, they took a point from Poatan in a ridiculous way and the judges' decision was definitely questionable.
i disagree he won both fights in my opinion
Nahh he lost to Poatan. But it was close af and Vakhitov is awesome.
Both were close fights, but the second one alex didnt win. He threw a lot of punches but missed most. Vakhitov, on the other hand, threw fewer punches but connected more.
To say he clearly lost is stupid and dishonest.
Artem is one of the best in the world
Have class when hi fight
I had never heard of Vakhitov but I will be watching for him from now on.. Very impressive! I imagine he'll have much success in MMA..
He has recently fought in his first mma fight in which it was stopped 55 seconds in when he dislocated his elbow.
Oh maan, that's bad
I like how the kick boxers transition to MMA. They don't worry about learning wrestling wholesale. they just focus on Defending Takedowns and get ups and stay with what they're good at.
Nasty striker 🔥
Good presentation. I felt like the KO's and TKO's started to fade once the competition got better. Not easy to convert to MMA, but best of luck.
Five Years Later: “The Biggest Threat to Artem Vakhitov”
I watch again this video today, vahitov is big fighter and have a big hard, I wish all the best for Artem🙏👏👏👏🙋♂️
COME TO SOUTH AFRICA ARTEM VAKHITOV..WE'VE GOT SOME GOOD KICKBOXERS DOWN HERE.
A punch that can kill , a kick that can break a bone , respect to all this fighters
He will kick ass anybody.. He's absolute monster.
Great news, looking forward to it.
They terminated his contract because he lived in a country they didnt like. Thats the most despicable thing you can do.
Awsome video, as always!!! Thanks!
If he can stay on his feet, he’s going to wreck shop in mma. This dudes cardio is insane with a ferocious arsenal behind it.
Real talk
There's a high likelihood Adesanya will retire before Vakhitov can climb the ranks for a title shot.
It’d be a striking masterclass
I feel because of his status and absolute killer resume it wouldn't take him very long at all
He better retire before Vakhitov gets a match with him!
@@Spartan-ri8xj Oh please 😂
@@nashbullet3213 It's nice to see someone still has manners to say "please". So thank you for your comment, though it's wrong.
"...got back up and continued spending health bar." I'm dying, how does he come up with this stuff? And delivered so perfectly dead-pan
It’s so easy for everyone to forget what Izzy has done in MMA. Everyone is now a supposed threat to him smh
Not everybody, but this guy - absolutely.
@@davesmith826 Has he been training bjj and wrestling intensly? If not then he won't even make it to the top 10
@@JohnTheApexBaker No idea, but Google is your friend.
@@NotaGabeItchcope he’s gonna smoke gynobender
Very nice and becoming sentemenyal Xmas song😊
32 year old kickboxer moving into MMA got kTKO'd in his first fight June 11, 2023
Yeah sakis run was short as well
Yeah but it was due to a freak injury, and nobody was really winning the fight for certain.... He can definitely come back
Grrreat video!, can not wait to see that guy in MMA!
But he's 32 now and should of went to MMA earlier. He might do well, but it will be years before a title shot unless they push and rush him like they did with Alex.
they won’t rush him, alex has the look and style for the fans, artem does not
however artem may be better in kickboxing
32 is young, he will be champ watch.
32 is young, he will be champ watch.
@@5roundwar yeah poatan got fast tracked cos of his history with Adesanya. That’s how a lot of the casual mma fans knew about poatan.
His timing, reflexes and shot selection are damn near perfect
"Backfist the like button" is done. Great video as always!
Unfortunetly he lost his MMA debut to some Can due to a freak injury, they set him up against worst possible opponent they couldve found
dislocated elbow @ 55sec. ... recover and comeback
Can? Tomato? lol.
Money is the reason
They kicked him out of Glory for being Russian. Probably needs money.
Him and Izzy would be a fun one¡💯
Same can be said about pereira though and look wheres hes at now lol
@dvelasquez4556 literally no one gave him a chance to win if Jan chose to wrestle, instead he stuffed the takedowns and even got Jan in a guillotine for a minute. Not to mention Jan is the guy that beat adesanya first both on the feet and on the ground. Jan was the second worst match up for Alex besides ankalaev and he still won
Whomever made this video left out the part that Artem lost his mma debut he was doing well in due to injuring his elbow. He does have good striking but the transition to mma and being successful is tough gl to him though!
This dude has insane skill I’m always a huge fan of these elite kickboxers coming to mma like Izzy and Pereira
Y recueda al Gran Cung Lee, en sus mejores dias!.
The commentary is gold my man. "Cured many insomniacs".... Where do you find these, hahahaha!
Dude faces nothing but guys who are bigger than him and still comes out on top over and over again. Very impressive.
Gifted back to back decisions which the video showed
Vakhtiov is an absolute unit, he dropped opponents with a jab multiple times. Fights very efficient and has like +150 muay thai fights in general
Crazy how Vakhitov got robbed in the first fight and Pereira got robbed in the second fight lol
I feel there are some formidable people, who would say I'm pretty tough. I trained in some different styles of fighting on and off over a period of about 9 yrs, and I'll admit I have never nor would I ever want to deal with getting kicked or punched in the liver like that. In fact ibdont think I could even in my prime. I would probably buckle lol.
This is one of the few men I have seen where I will put my hands up and say if we fought. I would die.
He is too much and too well calibrated for Kickboxing. He has perfect technique for that. This will make it very hard to transition MMA.
Yeah nah no one has ever made the transition.. not only made the transition, but beat Isreal…. Think about what you are saying
@@paull9087 if we talk about beating israel there is a debate. If we talk transitionning to MMA and having success it will be harder for him than for Pereira or Izzy. This Dutch-like style is hard to adapt to MMA.
@@paull9087 Alex got the shortcut, he didn't have to deal with grapplers on his way up. By the time of Jan, he was better prepared.
This guy doesn't have the style to deal with that.
Vakitov is phenomenal! Great to see that he may enter MMA 🇷🇺
Lol periera also beat him there 1 and 1
I like that you respect the opponents by showing where they've won fights before.
hes 0-1 in mma and hes "the biggest threat to adensanya" lmao
Poatan also lose in his first fight.
So was Alex Periera at one point you casual. Maybe it wasn’t his very first fight but Alex lost on the regional scene
@@robbiejohnston2023 Even Izzy lost an ammy fight.
You didn't watch the fight. Vakhitov reversed his opponent, secured full mount, and then his elbow broke because he fell on it during the transition. It was a freak accident
You're a newbie ain't you
As an retired 67yrs old kickboxer with 2 State titles, all l have to say about this gentleman is wooooooooow 😊😊
the biggest threat is alex pereira. vakitov is good but certainly not better than alex, alex won the first match and actually also the 2nd if you look closely or a draw. Because he was going to have mma according to many glory viewers, the jury chose vakitov because pereira was going to do mma anyway, let them fight 3rd time and pereira destroyed that rus bastard!
Russian hater?
