    Thank you for sharing that technique, I always got frustrated when my colours ended up drab an unexciting, this is so simple, and I never thought of doing that, instead I'd separate all the colours. Thank you. Cheers!

    Thank you! I did find it challenging spinning this way merino-silk blend: with silk fiber pulled more than merino I would ended up with just the wisps of merino at the end of each section. Also really difficult, when the colours are very blended and almost on top of each other! Wonder if I was doing something wrong ? (I did try to maintain a light grip)

    Fantastic tutorial! I love it!! This is now one of my challenges for tour de fleece!! Now to find a fabulous fiber to do this with. Can you only do it with woolen top, or will it work with worsted roving also? Did I get the two straight? lol

      LOL!!! I would say give it a go and see how it works. I have spun from the fold from batts sort of stripped into pieces.

    Mary, was this a standard 2 ply you did? Did you line the singles up end to end or do anything special with the ply arrangement?

    It's beautiful, but still has a barber pole effect.
