Finally ! You answered so many of my questions, that I could find no one else bothering to mention: SO informative. Thanks a lot !
I'm glad I could help Bohdan ;) Thank you for watching.
You answered my questions. You are the first person to explain everything clearly. Thank you so much.
I am fascinated by spinning and weaving but have never attempted it. I'm 60+ and if I start investing in a new hobby my husband won't have to get annoyed with me- I would do it for him. But I LOVE these videos. So soothing.
That's so gorgeous, Mary, you could throw it around your shoulders and forget all about spinning it...lol.
I understand and wow. Thank you Mary.
My pleasure.
I really like your videos! They're super informative. Thanks :)
i really liked your Video its give lot of idea how the whirl works
I think this is the first time I have ever heard the ratios on Spinning wheels explained. The perils of being self taught I suppose, lack of technical information even after 5+ years of spinning.
One does not need the technical side of spinning to spin beautiful yarns. But the technical side really intrigues me :)
Love your videos, i fanally learned how to spin a propper yarn... You are a fantastic teacher ❤️
Thank you Dear Misse
Could you tell me how to dye silk laps in one color but i need to look even and in one color.
Great video Mary, and what a great idea the Eszee twist tool, are the silk laps available?
Hello Virginia, they are up at www.camajfiberarts.com spinning page. If they are gone contact me at info@camajfiberarts.com to find out how to get some.
Thanks Mary. That was very well explained and helpful. Makes me want to give it a try. Where did that chart come from? I missed that. Still too sleepy early in the morning.
Hello and thank you!! I developed that tool. It's called the Eszee Twist Tool and you can find it at www.camajfiberarts.com
Looks beautiful but it is a bit different when what I am using for spinning is an espinner. When it comes to the number of twists per foot or inch, there are some ways to "translate" it to speed and the draw along with time per length. Still, I love your videos and will keep watching.
I have been thinking about that since so many of my spinning buddies have e spinners. If they draft and inch and either speed it up or slow it down would change the number of twists per inch. I wonder if the maker of your electric wheel might correlate speed to whorl size?
I don't have any sound.... I have sound on everything else. I really wanted to hear this too.
What was the little booklet called?
The Eszee Twist Tool
Would this be good for needle felting, or is it too pricey?
Hmm, not sure. I don't needle felt very much.
I dont think silk readily felts.
Only if you were using it to add interest to your felting. It has no scales to mat.
Hm. I'm thinking hard to count if you're using an E-Spinner...
Yes, it is. Always draw the same length when you long draw and count in your head the number of times you might think is ok. Stop your wheel and ply back. If there is enough twist carry on, if not you might need to add a few more counts. Keep you speed consistent too.
I'm not getting any audio on this video. :(
The audio is working on my end :)
Kind of looks like a silk hankie on steroids...
