Fantastic video. Brought back some great memories from my visit last year. I'm fascinated by the train drivers hand gestures when arrving and departing from stations. You can buy Monorail gifts from the Ofuna Monorail ticket office. I got a cool towel and some cute face cloths. On a clear day you can see Mt Fuji from the Inoshima monorail observation deck (i was very lucky with the good weather). Look for the metal barriers at Enoshima station. They have little decorative birds on them and local knitting groups sometimes dress them in costumes. So cute. Also, at Kamakura station, look for the toad statues on the train-stop buffers. So interesting. Thanks Rion for another great video.
I rode that suspended monorail last year! It was pretty cool but you are right. It shakes a lot. It did offer some nice views you would otherwise not see.
I've only been to Kamakura once, on my first trip to Japan in 1988, maybe before you were born! I can't remember the train that we took. The area is really nice, I highly recommend going!
I always love your Enoshima journeys. The monorail ride was sugoi. I would like to ride on it one day. The shrines and their gardens were so beautiful. Arigatougozaimasu, Rion, for this very enjoyable, cloudy day walking adventure! ⛩☁
for me these videos about non-touristy places is great!...... I hope you'll do more of them.....Tokyo and Osaka are always packed with tourists.... I'm sure lots of people also want to go to beautiful places which have less people
Sooo happy you did another vlog on this one 🥹 Fell in-love with Kamakura the first time I visited. And will be Going back there for the 3rd time this December! Thank you Rion! 🙇🏻♂️
Gokurakuji Station, Jyojuin and the stairs with beautiful view on the beach is another Seichijyunrei locations which were represented in Elfen Lied 『エルフェンリート』Anime and manga. Kamakura is so special and serene! I love it ✨
Now I know the monorail ride is not only in Chiba. It look so fun. It's good to be able to explore new places. Enoshima would be a great choice outside Tokyo.
Bro last week I ate at a local restaurant exactly near the rail track of the nearest enoden station. I forgot the name, but their mackarel lunch set were simple yet exceptional!
Kamakura region is really interesting. The nature is reach, - a lot of green and the wide ocean sceneries, also there are so many charming shrines and temples. The big Budda could be surprisingly visited inside, but it looked at least to me a bit scary. The ride on the Enoshima Monorail in comparisson to entitely urban Chiba one looked more advanturous but the Enodem train is obviously more popular with travelers and therefore pretty packed. Your earlier videos related to Enoshima island and Kamakura are adding to the whole picture of the whole area. Back to Tokyo with the Christmas lighting up and decoration (especially small but cute Super Mario Trees) starting make the difference to the more romantic one day worth trip to the Kamakura surrounding. The cloudy weather with even small rain could not damage the charm of the whole video. Eagerly awaiting your Nikko adventure! GAOO....
Wow, thank you so much for telling us about the IC card and showing us where to get it. Thank you so much. It's very helpful for the trip to Japan. I'm already looking forward to it🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊
that monorail looks pretty cool, cheap thrill without going to the theme park, I loved the kamakura area when we visited but we only went to Hase, was such a pretty city and temples for a quick trip out of Tokyo for a few hours, we saw Hasadera and Kotokuin, I think it was Hasedera that had a small cafe / restaurant with a nice view over the ocean and city
Thank you for this video, I have only two more days in Japan, tomorrow maybe ropponghi and then to Hakone on Friday. Your videos helped me so much while here in Tokyo👏🏻👍🏻
I just went to Kamakura/enoshima late oct this year and i really loved it 😍 even though it was raining for the whole day when i was in kamakura it was still one of my favourite places ever. hope i will have another chance in this lifetime to go back there again and eat the really delicious raw shirasu-don 🤤
I thought I was the only one who got the wrong direction on subway or train, even you the local Japanese too ☺️😊 I \been there for two weeks visited Japan. Love it love I and loooove it… Still want to go back again…🇯🇵🥰❤️👍🏻
I wish I had known about the Gokurakuji area when I visited Kamakura for the second time back in May, those shrines look so beautiful! Those snacks also looked delicious. I really hope to come back to Japan and explore that area again sometime.
When we went to Kanazawa, we saw a lot of kids with yellow hats. we thought it was the construction hat and needed for kids to wear when visiting kanazawa castle. Upon closer look it was regular yellow hat. it was cute. I wanted that hat that time lol
I was in Nikko city February of last year but sadly I didn’t get to visit any interesting places there cause I was on business trip (oddly we have this one factory customer in Nikko city). When you said you are visiting Nikko I’m super excited. Hopefully I could see your video soon rion~
Didn’t expect the scenic Shonan Monorail to be so fast & furious-definitely the way I wanna travel to Kamakura & Enoshima 😎✨ Didn’t expect to lol so much when imagining a tall 6th grade boy look neither kawaii nor kakkoii in a yellow hat 😂 Let’s keep walking… to DK Country 🍌!!
Great recommendation Rion! I'll be traveling to Tokyo in February next year and plan to use your video as a guide for my family tour. By the way, do you have any hotel recommendations in Tokyo for a family of three?"
You missed the giant white Buddha out the West Exit of Ōfuna station. I haven't been but I am planning to take the Shonan Monorail down to Enoshima if I get to Tokyo next year.
If you have an iPhone 8 or above you can add Suica to the Apple Wallet. Android devices usually only work if they are a Japanese market model. This is because Japanese IC card systems use a unique contactless technology that is specific to Japan. Android devices usually don't have the right hardware, and even if they do have the physical hardware it gets software locked unless it's a Japanese phone, maybe due to a licensing issue or something.
I loved Nikko. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. If you do make it there, I wonder if you would be able to anser a question for me. When I was there I went to Nikko Tart-Ya and got a tart with soft serve and they gave me a hot drink. To me it tastes a lot like Maggi chicken soup. My friends who also had the drink had no idea what it even tasted like and I cannot find out what it was. I wonder if you know, or could ask if you happen to go in there for a tart. It was delicious, and the saltiness really contrasted the tart and soft serve very nicely. I wanted to ask, but I don't speak Japanese and had already caused enough inconvenience when ordering, so I didn't want to bother the workers any more, but not knowing really eats at me. Either way, it is a beatuiful area. I hope you have a great time there.
Hi Rion! Awesome video! That monorail looks like a lot of fun! If I could ask, in your opinion, what times should travelers avoid taking the train? Like, what are the rush hour times?
From the U.S. I put a suica card in my iPhone wallet already and put 10000 jpy on it in preparation for our trip. So I can start using it when I arrive?
That's a very smart move. I always make sure my card is loaded before I leave the USA. It should work without any problem; and if you get a cell phone data plan, you'll be able to add money to the card instantly at any time. I love how handy my iPhone Suica card is, even to buy green tea from the vending machines or to pay for purchases at the Family Mart or 7-Eleven.
Really cool new places. Thanks for going off the most touristy path.

Another great video. Thank you. We will be visiting Kamakura in Feb 2025. This helps a lot.
I am planning my second trip to Japan for new year and also my birthday shorly after, and your videos have become my main source of information. ❤
I rode that suspended monorail last year! It was pretty cool but you are right. It shakes a lot. It did offer some nice views you would otherwise not see.
Thanks for the adventure. Really enjoyed the views from the skyline. Very relaxing 😊

If you come to hasedera in the morning, it's not crowded, and the view is great too.
Morning Rion looking great as always love you ❤❤❤❤
@28:15 this area reminded me a little of Hawaii for some reason. Wish I was there now 😢
Hope to visit Kamakura soon! Thx Rion! ❤
Great video and editing! Added to my list before going to Noge in Yokohama ~ Thank you Rion for showing us these local towns 🙂

Thank you Rion.. It looks really beautiful.. Thank you for the share..

Oh wow! Effie suggested you take this monorail and you did. We had a great time at Enoshima Island and loved staying in Ofuna also. Cheers from Canada
Planning my trip to include this monorail.
@@susielee1869 You're gonna love it. Make sure you stop at the Pudding Store that Rion passed by...was so good!
Thank you for taking us to Kamakura! 555!
This was super enjoyable! Thank you for making my day so much brighter! I would love to replicate this journey in the future :)
Two snack places within like five minutes, this is the most Rion-san has ate on video ever.

10:41 no rion google tells them to go to other station so they miss the rail station I notice when I was planing my route
How lucky! You rode the 355 Enoden car 😀👍👍!!! It's the oldest car of Enoden 😀!!!
😆👍

I’ll watch this once I get home.
😆🦁✨👍
I've ridden thet Shonan Monorail last June, it was fun. But I think they need to put seatbelt on the seat.
Hi Ishida San, you wear a watch to pay for the train ride, is it we can use Suica card or credit card on the phone to pay ?
If you have an iPhone 8 or above you can add Suica to the Apple Wallet. Android devices usually only work if they are a Japanese market model.

Hello from Canada.
Hello from Toronto!
Hi 👋🏼 buddy Riaon
My family are doing a 3D2N Kamakura & Endoshima next month Dec because of your videos!
is the kamakura free pass on odakyu line worth it?
Hi Rion! Awesome video! That monorail looks like a lot of fun!
If I could ask, in your opinion, what times should travelers avoid taking the train? Like, what are the rush hour times?
7-9,18-20 usually will be the rush hour time in Tokyo🧐
@@RionIshida Oh okay!👍 That's very helpful to know when planning an itinerary. Thank you very much! 🙏

Is there any pass that cover the whole trip ?
Hey Rion! Spending two months in Osaka soon, Kyobashi area. What is your opinion of Kyobashi?
Thanks!
Local interesting town, convenient to many places !!👍
❤❤❤
I ate there at Hanamura (not Hanamaru) near Ofuna station before riding the monorail.
Udonnn😋

hmmmm..Rion was scared on the Monorail i think! but did not want to say??? LOL
It was literally like the roller coaster😂
@@RionIshida we know you very well MR RION ...re high places. hahahaha
can u vlog the shooting locations of Beyond Goodbye in netflix series 😊❤
Why is 長谷 pronounced Hase and not Nagatani or Nagaya? Is Hase on or kun reading? I'm just curious, does anyone know lol
Aren't IC cards too cold to keep in your pockets?
If you have an iPone you can have Suica in your phone wallet
Yes! mobile version is much convenient too!
Sorry, I was making a dumb joke. "IC" sounds like "icy".
@SeventhSwell Ohhh hahaha totally didn't get it.
It's ok. I was being pretty dumb.
Okinawa is better
