This is a video on how to change the license plate light bulbs on a 2001 Toyota Camry and any generation 4 Camry. Bulb Size: 2825 Incandescent or you can use T10 LEDs
If you're upgrading to LED lights for the license plate lights, you may also use 194 bulbs. They are the same, at least in the LED world. 2825, T10, 194 - all the same LED bulbs. This information makes purchasing the bulbs so much easier because buying them in packs is cheaper. 194 bulbs fit in a lot of places on the 4th gen Camry's.
I'm using halogens the same one you have. I'm looking online to see if I can track the fuse. Is it under the hood or inside the car under the steering wheel?
Could you give more specific directions to taking off the light assembly other than just moving it to the right because you took it off, off camera and that's what I'm having trouble with the most
+Paul Pruitt Thanks. I know it was really close. I don't have a tripod or a second person to help me so, I tried to make that up by giving more verbal explanations. I also figured that if you are watching my videos you already taken a look at what your car has to offer so my video is merely a guide for when you get stuck.
+counkev Anyway, I should thank you for the video because you DID answer my question and enabled me to change the bulb. I never saw that it was a push pin, and never would have figured that out on my own. So thanks very much! Best to you.
I have police officer pulled me over, last night, important thing to have it done.Great work for your time. Thanks so much for your help with this matter.
Thanks man! I think I put all the years in the tag section. You cannot see them when search but if you search, 1998 Toyota Camry License Plate Bulb..." this video would come up too.
@@counkev it did for me, so you know. :) And thanks for the thorough explanation! I just need to secure the mounts..... Tried 2 long screws & they each got me by for a while....So now I was checking if the clips I had (for a different purpose) from my '99 Corolla would work for my now '01 Camry. Thanks to you, I know what to look for & didn't waste any more time! -Azariah/SuburbaKnight Ps 20:1, 6-8; Is 43; Is 38:15-20; John 14:11-21 -Azariah/SuburbaKnight Ps 20:1, 6-8; Is 43; Is 38:15-20; John 14:11-21
My sister just got one today and I broke both of those shitty clips. I didn’t know u had to push in 🤦🏻♂️so I took off the rubber gromet thing where the push clip was in originally and cut a small enough square of 3m double sided tape cleaned the spot with rubbing alcohol both on the paint and on the housing and bam stuck it back on there problem solved until I get the clips if I can ever find them
Did you use LEDs or halogen bulbs? If you used LEDs it may be the polarity so pop them out and flip then and try them again. Both bulbs may also be bad so try getting the bulb from your trunk light and pop that in. One of your fuses may be bad, so check the fuse for the trunk lights. If fuse and bulbs are good the wiring to the lights may be interrupted. It is most likely problem 1 or 2
Unprofessional - get a camera tripod/holder, so you can show a clear, complete view, & use both hands. Try to steady the camera when moving to avoid vertigo. Thanx

Thank you! the info helps a lot.
You made it super easy for me to change mine. Never would have figure out those plastic clips. TY!!!
Thank you for posting this video. It is a clear presentation and adding the printed instructions indicates a great characteristic.

Watch out for led upgrades. One of mine started flickering. It wouldn't burn out. Just flicker but enough to get pulled over perhaps.
Is there somewhere I can get new bolts for these things?
Hey I resolved the issue I had to do all the rewiring process. Half of the wiring were slit. Thanks!!!
Glad you got it working again! Was it intentionally slit or was it just frayed over time?
Today is 12/4/2023 and I just swapped them ty 😊

Good explanation but the videography could hardly be worse!

Bulbs are easy.
Where can I buy the clips?
AutoZone or swing by the dealership

Great - given that someone else has a video where you take the trunk liner out. Please put all applicable years in your title for others.

it was frayed overtime. I only have 172000kms convert it in miles...
Didn't know those were push pins and took my trunk liner out...
What kind of car are you driving? Usually interior screws are the plastic trim screws where you turn an 1/8 a turn then pull out.

Damn that sucks. I am sure you can find some at a auto parts store like AutoZone, pepboys, etc. Jist bring it in and try to find the same one.
I tried finding some try toyota dealership parts
I think there is something else wrong! I just replaced my license plate bulbs but it's still not working. What should I do next?
