Around 25 years ago during winter here in Norway, me and my cousins would play the PlayStation and then run outside in the snow and play for hours then run inside when grandma was done making waffles and then we'd start up the console again afterwards. Best time of my life.

I miss the days with offline consoles, the only way to communicate was through texting or calling, or internet forums. In my opinion, the iPhone ruined everything, it made our outdoor pleasures meaningless and instead replaced by a draining burden that takes away our social skills. I miss the days when you didn't have such distractions and were instead calmer. You appreciate games more but all games nowadays are just cash grab or FPS, it was reassuring to know that you were looking ahead to a console that could make the time at home a little special, but the overaccess to media has ruined all meaning. It has been a relief and burden to uninstall social media, when you ignore such nonsense you become isolated in reality, you have withdrawn from the dopamine slave mindset but everyone else is judging you. It's no reason to stop. I wish phones would go back to texting and calling. The isolation makes me sad but it gives me insight into how it was in the past, so the future becomes better for we who learn from mistakes. Accept your vision of life, not others, not ever. We love.

It's funny, my mother came to visit the other day just for a chat and catch up. I always put some ambient music on just for some background and i had been listening to this for a few hours already so it was still playing. After some time, she asked me how can i enjoy something that sounds so sad and depressing. I told her for me it is not sad or depressing but nostalgic and brings me memories of when i was just a teenager without a care in the world and playing these amazing games. She just smiled and we both sat there for a few minutes listening.

@@midwichmusic there are a lot of 'silent hill inspred ambience music' vids popping up. but none capture the feeling of the tracks in this video. do you know what you have done here? you have genuinely captured the style of Silent Hill, even though it isn't Official Akira composed tracks. I try not to say things like this too often, but your tracks deserve to be in a new Silent Hill or other foggy style dreamy 'horror' game, although geniunely more psychological than horor

It’s really interesting how a lot of ppl are taking more interest in silent hill and 90s-00s games in general
because they were genuine art projects, original and they didnt include any form of political bias.
@@gjermund8053 Also, I think some of us are aging and getting nostalgic for things that we took for granted when we were younger.
What the others said, plus I do think it's true that gaming is in a lull quality wise and retro gaming is starting to become more appealing. I think it is becoming a lot more common for people to feel unimpressed by recent graphical advances and disappointed with gameplay stagnation relative to some of these very creative older titles. Nostalgia does help but personally I am noticing that I am having more fun playing 20 year old games than brand new ones, and I ca't say that was true 6-7 years ago.
I think old games are just better overall. I don't even have any nostalgia for them or anything cause I'm too young to have been there for anything before the Xbox 360/PS3 era
Video-games became mainstream, and budgets grew. Classics, like the original Tomb Raider, were made from scratch by about 10 people in 1 year. No AAA game could be made like that today so they have to sacrifice risk (creativity and innovation), hence why everything is a re-ash, remake, or sandbox collectathon. I really miss being a kid in the 90's.
been trying to make changes for the past years yet nothing seems to work out due to my lack of discipline or obedience.
I often end up being under developed because of such happenings... But when i need to find a place to rest i always end up listening to your videos. Which tend to bring me comfort at difficult times. Tysm!!

This whole game is like a dream/nightmare, in an accurate way of how dreams really feel. where you need answers but its hard to find them. where you know something or everything is out of place but can't do anything about it, just going with it. where the atmosphere is cold, lonely and blury, but calm at the same time, and the constant anguish of not being able to find that important person in this sad and lonely place.
That's why this game is so good to me. The only silent hill game that really unsettles me because of these feelings. Amazing.

I like this because the character is not alone.
I remember....wandering if there was an easter egg to follow the police officer and cooperate for help. It was not a surprise to find she never made it out, but could be rescued by gathering a hidden item behind one of the desks in the hospital. If only we could have saved the nurse as well....

7 years ago today, I was a happy kid playing on my PC everyday after school, no responsibilities and looked forward to coming to school a lot. I went from being a happy kid to going through a lot of mental health problems because I moved school, my parents got more stressed and angry, depression and anxiety hit me hard. I took out my anger and became a bully, then I got bullied back which then led to me being excluded, no friends, abusive parents and I became obese at 16.
Now I am 21 today, I have a financial mathematics degree and have secured a graduate scheme in the finance sector, I have built many good relationships and very happy with myself.
Sometimes things go a very strange and hard way. I'm glad to read that you're life is better again! Stay safe, greetings 🖤
