    I just got into rc boats and I just wanted to thank you for all the info you have on your channel. I have to tinker myself because I know there is always that little bit more you can get out of almost everything. Your videos definitely shortened my rc boat learning curve. Tinker, test and tune!

    Andale sure that rudder and prop is razor sharp and polished to a high luster. Some good prop mod sights on yahoo. I've been into boats for 30 - 35 years.

    Thanks for this info Ironclad. I really like the tip on the DIY file on the end of a drill motor.

      It works on rudders and other applications as well.

    I love all your tips and tricks. I have learned sooo much since I bought my UL-19 at the end of this November and came across your channel. Already made the first important upgrade is the dual cooling system, and 20kg servo but have the carbon fiber upgrades, 160a esc, curved turn fin and a cnc prop for now. Going to carbon fiber my hill like you did and looking for a motor around 1800kg and a prop setup to get some speed out of her.

      Good luck with the build. Wish I'd went carbon fiber sooner

    Just install a little inline water pump, max flow even when you're not moving through the water

    I like pink nipples but brass will do. Hahaha I cracked up.

    They looked like brass to me. On another note, would an angled inlet provide a more efficient water passage? The stock inlet looks like it's 90° to the first water flow direction change at the back of the rudder (internal, the passage you were expanding at the beginning). I would think that a more gradual change in direction via a curve instead of an abrupt 90° would pick up more volume with less effort, less of a radical change (from standing water to water being violently forced straight up through a tiny hole at speed). I mean, if you're looking to reduce inefficiencies where ever possible, it might be worth the little extra research...or cause minor to massive water resistance, you know, either/or.

      I agree 100% 👍 Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about like a gradual band instead of a 90゚ band I would think that cool better yes sir Worth the shot anyway

    I’m not sure what’s going on with my bj24 rudder. It doesn’t seem to want to hold a trim position and the hinge pin seem loose. I can wiggle the blade all over the place. 🤔

      I've taken the rudder off and squeezed the rudder base hinge part together just enough to prevent the wobble so the blade fits snugly onto the base

    Ive seen a nice aluminum double rudder system on eBay and wondering if anyone is using it with water pickup rudders

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 роки тому

      Dual rudders are nice especially if you have a boat that has a bad reputation for not turning when you want it to or doesn't want to track in a straight line. That being said if your building a boat for speed, the extra drag from the 2nd rudder will actually slow you down.. but the dual rudder set up does look really cool on a boat when fitted correctly

    Have you done this yet to your black jack 42 ? Anyhow - I just added my dual line water cooling system to my boat and I am going to be using my dremel with a diamond type Pointed Cone Shape Double Cut Dia Grinder Drill bit and it works awesome to open up those water inlets on the rudder..Anyways, heading out to the lake now to try out my dual rudder pickup cooling system and plus I added 200 grams to the front of the boat right underneath the styrofoam...

      No. My 42 has been cooling pretty good so far. 👌 let us know how she runs with the 200g weight up front
