My husband and I will be married 31 years this April. This song was played as our first dance at our wedding., and every year since , we dance to it on our anniversary in the dinning room. ❤ I will forever love this song!
I used to be on the road early in my life, and when this tune came on the radio, I’d stop and just listen to it. It gave me inspiration just to be alive and enjoying life as I passed through it. Keeping in step with some of these comments, I’m 84.
I'm only 80 but know my life is in its prime I now play piano to my heart's content every day and sing opera three times a week, if I'm lucky I started both in my 50s and am truely glad I did so despite the prevailing wisdom at the time, friends 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I wonder if, in 1954, when Alex North was sitting at a piano picking out notes and chords for this song, he could have imagined that 48 years later it would be presented like this and eventually viewed fifteen million times by people sitting in their living rooms all over the world.😊❤❤
Unchained Melody: I have wonderful memories of this song, as I was driving down I35, listening to this on my cassette tape in our 1983 Camaro, Z28, on my way to a new job in Dallas, Texas, with clothes, cooking pans, plates, silverware, glassware and what I thought I needed for the new job with the RTC. Leaving my wife, our son, who was then a Junior in high school in what would become a 15 month job, away from my family, during the S&L crisis in 1990-1991 was a difficult decision. I was just passing Albert Lea, Minnesota, when this played on the tape in the car. I cried for many miles, wondering if I was doing the right thing, leaving home and family, in those times, but I needed the work, to support my family, and our daughter who was in College in Tempe, Arizona, as a out of state tuition student. This song, and especially this rendition, brings back those tears, memories and the 1,000 mile drive just like it was yesterday, and it’s now May of 2020. On the way back, 15 months later, I put the tape back in the car, at that same location, just going home, not away from home, and the tears flowed again. We have danced in the kitchen and in many places around the world, many times since that return, and we celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary in March of 2020. Thanks to all who have posted memories, before my post, to Mike for sending this link to me, and I know that it will bring memories to others in the future. In these COVID 19 times, we need to remember these songs, what it means to us, as we are thankful for every day, today, and hopefully many more tomorrows to come. God Bless the USA and the bands that performed this song, as a tribute to our memories.
David Mork, your what a man is. I wish I was your neighbor. And if I get there before you, or you before me, let's shake hands, have a coffee, and talk.✌

I don’t want to burst your bubble, but this was in Germany: Stadthalle in Bremen. At one point you see a company’s advert: Volksbund Bremen. So this has nothing to do with the USA. Germany was always great in marching band music. A lot of march music pieces are from Germany. Even Hitler used them a lot.

The flugelhorn has a 2/3 conical bore & is bigger (taller) than either the cornet or trumpet, which should make it the most mellow sounding of the three. In addition, the trumpet mouthpiece is shallower and produces a more brilliant tone, while cornets & flugelhorns have more funnel-shaped mouthpieces. When soldiers from around the world gather not to fight, but instead take part in humanity's greatest creation, it is more moving then the music itself.
Absolutely beautiful ❤ thank God for wonderful musicians like this group, given us pure joy for a few minutes, I personally would love to thank them all.Blessed are they for blessing us with their music,❤
I am a 67 years old retired professor in Taiwan listening to it on August 29, 2019, with the deepest admiration--Love conquers the world with such kind of pious and devoted performance! Thanks for sharing!
陳彥豪 Hi! I was 67 years old on August 8th, loved this song (melody) to bits, it brings tears to my eyes and lots of memories whenever I hear it! Listening just now for a few times on 31/08/19. 😀👍😢😀👍🙏
It is a soldier’s song, for many. For 34 years my husband and I listened to this song whenever we were apart. Knowing each of us had a broken heart because we could not be together. A year at a time is a long time to be away from the one you love and is your soulmate. This happened numerous times during my husband’s career. We always listened to the Righteous Brothers version. I think this is our new favorite. It is a full bodied masterpiece of the song. I wish the whole world could hear it and feel the love.
I am a 77 year old man and love this song just as much as I did in the late 50's. It was always the last song at our high school dances and still brings tears to my eyes.
My husband wrote to me when he was in Germany on national service in 1956 it will always be my favourite tune and this version is beautiful sadly he has passed away after 59 years of marriage but the music bring it all back, we were very happy so no tears! My love
I am absolutely mesmerized by this rendition of this melody. I particularly like the smile of the conductor as if he's saying, "listen up thus will blow your mind!
This is a wonderful rendition of unchained Melody. It takes me back to the middle 60s and my high school years and how this was one of the headliner numbers at our high school dances. I have loved it ever since and never tired of hearing it.
My parents’ ‘love song’. I forwarded this to them to listen to. This year will mark 61 years of their truly unchained melody of love. Just majestic to hear. Thank you
How beautiful ! So many musicians from all parts of the world playing in peace and harmony!! I wish the people of the world could live in so much harmony together. Would'nt it be wonderful ?
I stood in a club in Dublin and that was not yesterday it was a Sunday afternoon and this was playing and it rang through me and my friend Mattie ( RIP ) we were young guys back then life was easy not so young now 🤫we both new this was a hit maker . This military band have done a fantastic rendition bravo.
It is extremely difficult to make a trumpet sound that beautiful! KUDOS to this orchestra! From an unhappy American listening in August 2019, looking for international beauty and found it.
I'm so happy I stumbled onto this video .It's been more sad than happy in my life. Which has made me very tough on the outside, but this song opened a hole in the wall for me and , the tears fell from my face , so beautiful.
We all go through sad times.. that is life..I have had, and still have sad times, but hang on..I still love life and what I cannot cope with I hand over to GOD..
Yawning is said to be contagious , I say tears are also contagious , whether they be tears of joy or tears of pain they still shared together , I loved your comment .
this is such a special song, im sending this out to a comrade from 1969 who was killed in Vietnam. This is for his wife. he was such a fun guy to be around. his name was Charles Love Jr
Everytime I hear this song I'm transported back to our living room as a young child watching my Dad hold his hand out to my Mom and the two of them dancing to "their" song.
Never get tired of this song. Funny no matter who sings or performs this song, it makes you cry. It gives you hope, and the beauty of pure sincere love for one another.
One of if not the best renditions of this beautiful haunting song. Well done. Music brings us all together. This was my late husband and mine sings, played at our wedding, brings sweet memories
I'm 27 years old and for years this song has made me cry .. that's why it's timeless and will always remain so. This version should be made for Bobby's funeral in 2003 as a tribute to creating the most beautiful version of this song ever...

Oh, my love
My darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love

To the open arms of the sea

When soldiers from around the world gather not to fight, but instead take part in humanity's greatest creation, it is more moving then the music itself.
How bands and individuals are playing this in this “group”
The world gather not to fight,
Alhamdulillah!
100% agree
Es gibt fast nichts mehr schöneres zu hören. Es ist einfach Traumhaft.
Absolutely beautiful ❤ thank God for wonderful musicians like this group, given us pure joy for a few minutes, I personally would love to thank them all.Blessed are they for blessing us with their music,❤

Absolutely beautiful- totally unforgettable. The trumpet player has such beautiful round full notes. ❤️
I believe that is a flugelhorn, rather than a trumpet. Just FYI

The trumpet soloist is actually playing a Fugel horn. Its like a trumpet but has a melow sound. I use to play one.

This has to be the most beautiful sound I've ever heard in my life. Had me in tears.
Unchained melody will always remind me of 'The Ghost'. Still one of my favorites love movie till date
Knowing this was played by soldiers, makes this melody even more beautiful! The most outstanding orchestra version of Unchained Melody!
Very beautiful
It is a soldier’s song, for many. For 34 years my husband and I listened to this song whenever we were apart. Knowing each of us had a broken heart because we could not be together. A year at a time is a long time to be away from the one you love and is your soulmate. This happened numerous times during my husband’s career. We always listened to the Righteous Brothers version. I think this is our new favorite. It is a full bodied masterpiece of the song. I wish the whole world could hear it and feel the love.
So amazing! I have listened to this a hundred times or more!
My heart just aches with the beautiful melody! Thank you Lord for people who can bring these feelings to everyone who hears them! 🥲
I am a 77 year old man and love this song just as much as I did in the late 50's. It was always the last song at our high school dances and still brings tears to my eyes.
When music calms the erring soul and seems to ascend to its Maker... so beautiful !!!
Chills and tears filled my eyes, when I read your words. Yes so beautiful !!!
Music like this just reaches into your soul and restores your faith that human beings can ascend evil!
Truly amazing, it takes my breathe away! Such beautiful music brings a tear to my eye.
What beautiful playing, got to be one of the best versions I've heard. Actually wants to make you cry
My husband wrote to me when he was in Germany on national service in 1956 it will always be my favourite tune and this version is beautiful sadly he has passed away after 59 years of marriage but the music bring it all back, we were very happy so no tears!

This is a wonderful rendition of unchained Melody. It takes me back to the middle 60s and my high school years and how this was one of the headliner numbers at our high school dances. I have loved it ever since and never tired of hearing it.

It is extremely difficult to make a trumpet sound that beautiful! KUDOS to this orchestra! From an unhappy American listening in August 2019, looking for international beauty and found it.
Flugelhorn.
@@roysheaks1261 A bugle brings more softer sounds than a trumpet. In this piece, this is exceptionally beautiful.

this is such a special song, im sending this out to a comrade from 1969 who was killed in Vietnam. This is for his wife. he was such a fun guy to be around. his name was Charles Love Jr
What a good buddy you were to still think of him and his wife. Good on you.
Gorgeous! Sweet memory of hearing the Righteous Brothers sing in concert at Eastern Illinois University in 1968. Still love this song. Thank you.
I listen to this over and over. Spectacular!
Epic! Those Navy bands made my heart sing - I was in the Navy over 50 years ago, but seeing those band members in Navy uniforms was a real tonic!
there were army units there also
Greetings from Canada . Bremen is my home town . the orchestra plays beautifully .
Everytime I hear this song I'm transported back to our living room as a young child watching my Dad hold his hand out to my Mom and the two of them dancing to "their" song.
I listen to this almost every day; most beautiful arrangement I've every heard.
Never get tired of this song. Funny no matter who sings or performs this song, it makes you cry. It gives you hope, and the beauty of pure sincere love for one another.
