    Great video! Personally, I would never spend this much effort on cleaning my own car (well, at least the one I have now) but I really enjoyed this and got some good tips! Love your sense of humor too :)

    You can spray some silicone lube on the seat belts and rub it in with a microfiber towel. They will retract much easier.

    Paul, I really wish you were my neighbor...I would pay as much money as needed to do all this to my Rav. I just don't have the tools and expertise to do it myself, I might end up messing everything up. Please let me know if you ever come to Costa Rica ....you are GREAT!

      Thanks! You can do a great job cleaning your car with just a shop vac and some soapy water. You don't actually need the pressure washer and steam cleaner.

    @Lab Coat Paul how do i get a really bad smell (like a dead animal or stinkbug) out of my 97 Rav4? I don't think a detail clean would help. Do you have any ideas? Much appreciated.. looking forward to hearing from you.

  • @davidmedrano4840

    Great video! My fiancee just bought the 1999 5 door RAV4. I'm detailing the car as it was extremely dirty, and when I say extremely, I mean that yours before cleaning looked sparkling clean in comparison. I had to basically tear apart the whole interior including taking out the carpet. Now I'm worried I won't remember where each bolt goes and I think I might have ruined the socket where in the driver side where there's a screw that connects the console and some kind of metal frame. I foolishly confused the bolts and tried to fit a bigger one, now I'm trying with the one that is supposed to fit and it won't go in at all.
    Any suggestions?

    Hey Paul ☺️ I'm Eric from Italy Venice
    I really appreciate your videos and your work that you did on your RAV4 ♥️♥️♥️
    I have a question about the clean spray for moto that you used...
    In Europe witch kind of spray I can use ?
    Is WD40 can do the same job ?
    I have a 1994 RAV4 3 doors blue
    I will be more then happy to share with you the job that I do to transform the car like new l.
    Like you did🙂

    • @LabCoatPaul
      @LabCoatPaul  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Thanks for watching! No, don't use WD40. It's not for cleaning plastic. Any car or motorcycle detailing spray is what you want.

    Fuck man, you're awesome.
    I was just talking to my girl about deep cleaning my 98 4 door RAV and here you are a week later cleaning the shit out of yours.
    Definitely taking your advice. You're the best man.
    By the way, I notice your roof spots. I got some of that too.
    Do you plan to fix that someday? I was just thinking about covering it with Car Vinyl Wrap.

    • @LabCoatPaul
      @LabCoatPaul  3 роки тому

      Thanks! I've considered vinyl wrap too. It's a lot easier than repainting the car. I still have a few more big mechanical repairs to do before I can worry about stuff like paint. My transmission is dumping oil from every seal and I don't know how old my clutch is. Also, my rear differential is likely worn out - it went 150K miles without a differential oil change, and it clunks when I put it in gear.

    • @Dylan-jf8dc
      @Dylan-jf8dc 3 роки тому +2

      @@LabCoatPaul I just changed my differential fluid last week; [ watched your fluid change guide] and my car has 295k miles. The differential oil was never changed or maybe it was... 110k miles though, I got my 1998 RAV4 in 2009 with 182k miles. Lucky my car doesn't have a differential problem but it does do a weird clunk when I reverse in the morning on cold start. It does goes away after getting warm. Mine wasn't that bad... There was a little metal shavings on my plug magnet. I notice your differential oil in your video was way darker though than mine and had a lot of shavings. That sucks bro. For your clutch, I have no clue. For your transmission, its just old man, might have to get a new one. I got mine for 500 bucks new. I also have an automatic transmission and I put a new one in since the last one lasted till 252k. I hope you get your stuff worked out.

    next time try a professional Kärcher carpet cleaner powder. This stuff is insane. I own a few asshole cats which sometimes pee on the couch, and those chemicals remove the stains and smell without a trace. Yet a powerful vacuum cleaner is a must to get it (and all the dirt that's incapsulated by it) out. Google "iCapsol RM 760 ASF 6.295-849.0".

    • @LabCoatPaul

      Thanks! That comment is a crack at the state of dating apps more than anything else. Most single men can relate. Popular dating apps like Tinder and Bumble rate each user on their attractiveness, based on how many other users swiped right on them. Fit, attractive females are ranked highest, and pretty much all men get ranked very low. If you're a man and you're less than 6 feet tall, (like me) your profile gets buried and nobody you're attracted to will ever see it... unless I pay them to temporarily put my "card" in a higher ranking. As a result, some men "settle" for women who are overweight and who do not share any of the same interests.
