After watching numerous videos that didn't solve my A/C issue, I finally made it to yours. YOU'RE MY HERO...for today anyway. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to make the video.
I JUST WANT THANK MEGASHADE FOR THIS TIP I WASNT GETTING ANY COLD AIR AFTER REFILLING WITH FREON AND AFTER RELEASING THAT METAL WIRE AND MOVING THE TAB IT MADE MY AC COME OUT ICE COLD🧊🥶❄️ AND FYI MY HONDA PILOT IS A 2004. I WILL BE HAVING A CHILLY SUMMER THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
@@M-E-G-A turns out it was the actuator inside that controls the blue cable. But your video helped me trace that wire to inside. And could see it was not opening and closing the heat door. Also while I was in there I noticed my rear air filter was completely blocked (it’s by the driver side of the centre console on the floor. So cleaned that also. Thanks for the vid!
@@M-E-G-A oh yeah! It was completely blocked by dust build up over 20 years. One of those items I’m not sure you’d ever think of servicing because it’s hidden.
Moved to another State and soon after starting experiencing this same issue in my 07 Pilot EX-L 260k miles runs like a 2022. Mechanic (first time using this guy) said I needed a new compressor and radiator. Found your video did exactly what you said and now my AC is blowing ice cold. Thanks so much, I just subscribed. Lastly what is that cable called and how can I free it from sticking permanently?
I believe that wire extends to the blend door actuator that sits below the glove compartment. Looks like it needs to be changed. Simple replacement and you’re all good.
Gonna try this with my 2007 and see if it will work but I'm also having the problem of the vents just not blowing air at all so I got alot to look at. Can I recommend a walk through of getting the exterior open and reassembled
At 0:45 I demonstrated the vents moving by pressing the button ⬆️⬇️↕️ and watch if the levers move. If not, it’s the motors that are not working and needs to be replaced. Good luck!🍀
@@mcahp9065 to the best of my knowledge, I believe when you turn the dial to hot or cold, the cable slides in and out and it runs through the body of that fire wall. I can’t imagine it might be quite difficult to replace it. You may have to pull out the entire dash system just to do it.
@@BestKidsSolutionswatch the video again. At 1:18 follow the camera leading to the cable switch. I am standing in front and centered in the middle. It’s right against the wall. Check and let me know.👍🏼
some say to put ac/heater into 'test mode'. put key in position II, then press and hold both 'off' and 'defrost' buttons - until you see some led flash 5 times. then you release the two buttons. but when i tried this pressing my 'dash defrost' button and 'off' - nothing happened (no lights flashed). instead it just turned on the unit. and when i tried pressing my 'rear windows defrost' button and 'off'. it caused the led above the 'rear defrost' button to solidly illuminate. im obviously not understanding how to do this. can anyone add the missing info please?
My best guess is the ’test mode’ is something the dealership does to run a diagnosis on the system. If a scan tool is hooked into the car’s computer it’ll say something.

but I dont understand. are you saying youve permanently put your car into 'cold mode' by disconnecting the cable? Is the 'true fix' to determine why the cable no longer can freely slide - and to get it to slide again?
The cable on my pilot has permanently seized. The dial will not work anymore. Sliding pilot has permanently seized. The dial will not work anymore. Sliding the lever left or right will blow hot or cold air. The only way it could be truly fixed is to replace the cable that is seized.(stuck)
Do the vents check underneath controls when I demonstrated by pressing the vent buttons. If they move when pressing the button it should be fine. You must push that little lever full to the left or right to get the air fully blown.

I just wanted to respond and tell you, You’re Welcome!👍🏼
Thank you. This fixed my 2004 Pilot, too.
I’ve got this issue in my 2004. I’ll give this a try tomorrow! Great video.
Yes. Give us an update on how it goes. If you have questions please let me know.👍🏼

@@rw3476 The small circular shaped filter, right? It feels great wiping away that heavy dust.👍🏼

I’m going to look into that.
You are great!👍🏼
Im gonna try this, ill come back to let ukno the result🤞🏼
Worked for me! What about a permanent fix though?
I have a 2007 honda pilot ex-l Navi, my fan blows but no cold air. Heat works perfect, need to check into this. Hope this works!
It’s like that little valve seized up and won’t turn. Check it!👍🏼
Saved the day thank you

Did you ever “unfreeze” the cable afterwards? I think my pilot has the same issue. If you did.. I’d love to see what you did
I tried to pull and push, back and forth but it didn’t budge. I may have bent it out of shape but I’ll fix it and try again.
Also do you know if that cable or assembly is replaceable and if so what’s it called or how do I explain that area ?

I have a 2007 but can't find the lever\wire you are talking about. Can you describe more on where to find it?

Was this a temporary fix? Did you replace the part or wire?
I didn’t replace anything but I’m going to keep it this way. Flip one side for summer then flip the other on winter.
thanks a lot

You simply turn that little lever the other way.
