The other really impressive car of this period was the Alpine (Rejnault). These amazing little cars had a top speed of 160mph from an engine of around 1600cc. In 1966 after the Fords and Porches the alpine skiing occupied the next at least 4 places. These cars where incredibly reliable and were powered by what was basically a Production drivetrain. I notice Fords passing them in this video, they are the little blue cars with the fins on the tail.

@JayGeePee1 The cool thing is that they took GT1 in 2010 at Le Mans... Also the Ford Matech is making a statement as well as it fights for GT1 supremacy in the FIA GT1 series. You can watch all the races in HD at their website.

This race was run in the Fall of '68,due to natinal unrest in France
