    Awesome video. Great to meet Stuck and Singer, and also of course Timo. I have been a Porsche fan since 1970 when Porsche won LeMans with the 917. Now I'm old, but the lucky owner of two classic Porsches. I was thrilled when Porsche returned to LMP1, and equally disappointed when they left again.

    Thank you Porsche for this amazing video, I’d love to be able to say it in German, but my German is still lacking somewhat!🤦🏼‍♂️
    Personally I think the Germans and the British have a lot in common, sense of humour and love for perfection being just 2, well ok beer also!👍🏻🤣
    I can’t wait to come back to Stuttgart as soon as possible as in all honesty bringing my car back to where it was made with my dad after a weekend at Spa, was in all honesty the most amazing long weekend of my life and I thrill the memories made will always hold it that high for myself and dad!
    Keep doing what you do, and stay true to the company roots and the founders beliefs, it is essential! 🍺🍻🍺

    The 956 and 962 are amazing cars. Even in 1994 a Jochen Dauer Porsche 962 won the 24h in Le Mans. The second car finished 3rd. Group C cars were already banned at this time and only GT1 cars were allowed in the top class, but Jochen Dauer, who bought a few 962 at the beginning of the 90's, build a street legal version, like the GT1 cars, of one of the 962 and was back in the game. The street legal car was testet at the VW proofing ground in Ehra Lessien. The top speed was 404 km/h. It was the fastest street legal car at that time. Far before a Bugatti Veron.

In Zuffenhausen? Oder ist die "Mediengruppe" extern?

      I'd love to see that too. It was a car that did everything. Started out as a challenger to the GT40 then became a short wheelbase Go Kart for circuits like the Nordschleife and Madonie where the 917 would be a much bigger hand full. Almost completely forgotten because of the 917. Great car.

    Interesting video. Anorak question: Porsche adopted monocoque structures for its sports prototypes with this car in 1984...and yet this chassis methology was introduced in 1962 (Lotus 25). Why so late?

    • @Extra-dg7uv
      @Extra-dg7uv 3 роки тому +1

      Because Formula 1 always tends to be ahead of the curve in terms of technology. Same with ground effect. It had been used in F1 for years before it was used in Group C.

    • @jameswilkinson2242
      @jameswilkinson2242 Рік тому

      @@Andrew-vx2ls if you look back Porsche's racing achievements didn't really get going till the 1970's. The rulings of most of the championships they were entering gave preference to the tubular chassis design. Lightness was the winning factor in those early times.

    • @Andrew-vx2ls
      @Andrew-vx2ls Рік тому +1

      @@jameswilkinson2242 Agreed that until the end of the 60s, others were doing the same or in a hybrid format. However, it really was old school by 1970. To be balanced, Lotus carried on with the torsion box road chassis for too long as well! The first real update was with the Elise ;-)

    • @jameswilkinson2242
      @jameswilkinson2242 Рік тому

      @@Andrew-vx2ls the designs for these types of chassis like you mentioned with the lola Gt was the weight, the early attempts at it were too heavy. I think they even mention it in the film le mans 66. The elise was definitely a game changer look at all the supercar manufacturers that took that concept 👍
