SEVEN YEARS!!!! from age 9 to 16. i even stopped playing the game for several times but once in a while i would try it again. until one day i did it, finishing the game in the very same afternoon. i think i used a very similar route to yours. i remember my cousin gave me MC2 on my birthday and i got very sad because i wanted the newer MC3 with licensed cars and parts. eventually i played both but there was nothing like this one: the soundtrack, the AI meant to screw you, the adrenaline and the pure intense atmosphere. top5 racing games of all-time.
Lol same, played it my entire childhooh-early teens and just got detroyed. Just came back to it last week, at 22yo to beat it. We finally did it, boys!!
@TheSilentWolf because it's rigged! try picking different routes and you'll see that when you go the savo way, savo always comes last, but as soon as you try any other route you'll see that for some reason savo is always first despite the fact he loses when you follow him. loser developers made this race almost inaccomplishable on purpose

Still, kinda convinced the opponents in this race are rigged to the core to make it impossible. Obviously if follow alternative routes like in this video it's simple, but who has the time and ability to plan it out lol

@@ПашаТретьяков-е4к i just tried going my typical route ive completed the game many times so i was like lets get this done and i run a 2min 40 a few times the opponents 2:38 next i adjust my route i run 2:35 the opponents 2:31 and this repeated for abput 30min before i finally beat the race but wtf everytime i went a bit faster i lost by a second or 2
I like how these unordered checkpoints require some skill that has never been in a racing games before. Choosing the fastest route is the best option, either by tailing people or using your way.

+Undead Natıon I challenged myself years ago with howhardcanitbe9 and managed to beat Nikko's first race with the Brynston V. It's a lot like the Knight but slower and with one less nitrous. I would make videos if I could but my computer probably can't handle recording video. That, and I don't have the necessary hardware to record.
I got this game when I was 12 and no joke it took me until I was 29 to beat it. There may have been a 16 year span in there where I didn't play it but it's still technically true
I drove the Torque JX in all of Savo's races and I won all of them. I just wish I knew about the Saiku XS being easier to handle than the Torque JX. The Torque JX is pretty hard to control, and had I known about the Saiku XS's handling earlier as stated above, it probably would've saved me from a ton of stress and rage-filled hours. I just chose to drive the Torque JX because it's a lot faster and sounds better xD
raptorer87 Right. And even with the Torque JX, you still only had 4 nitrous. And in the final LA race with Savo, I managed to get the Torque JX to 242mph with a double shot. Btw, 242mph is just 3 less than the SLF450x's maximum speed of 245mph. Also, I call it a "double shot" because you can manage to use slipstream and nos at the same time and it's insane how fast you can go when you manage to pull it off. Tbh that's how I won the race xD
I remember I couldn't beat this race when I was like 11 so I gave up and was stuck here for years until I got older and just watched from the beginning to see who had the fastest route and finally beat it that way. I always thought Savo had the fastest route but for some reason I would always still lose.
When I was a kid I struggled a lot with this race, one day I won just by pure luck and was able to continue and end the game. Now replaying it I always try to find new ways of getting there first. It seems hard but there's at least 3 or 4 routes that get you there pretty fast, I even use the catacombs in one of the routes
cool, thats a lot of effort. Do your opponents use also some of these routes, or not? I don't remember anymore how many different ways I tried before I settled with this one. I just know it was not easy :P
You're the GOAT for this. Kinda feels like cheating going from losing by 20-30 seconds every time to winning by 10+ but it's either that or let all my blood, sweat and tears from playing this ridiculous game go to waste

You have no idea how many tries it took me to beat this race when I was a little kid. It took me so many tries and I got so frustrated that I actually cried. Until one day I got lucky when I followed Savo's route and was able to move on and complete the game. I'll be honest with you, I won by luck. Just constant repetition until I finally got it. This route is very consistent, so you'll win every time as long as your fast enough.

firstly i watched route of other drivers, who will get to the finish first so i choose route seems best , raced couple times to learn the route and that's how i won most of it :D i drove Torque JX cuz of beauty and sound :D

It was Ivy, to this day they still win first place no matter what, I remember getting wrecked so many times on savo's second Tokyo race because traffic was a bitch (especially on difficulty 9) whenever that one racer wins I check the leaderboard and see Ivy on the top and be like IT WAS THAT MF! 😂
Best way is Savo's way. Cleared it with a time of 2:08. Took me long tho, everything has to connect, no failures allowed. After Savo's way, Ivy is the best choice with 2:11
i believe you are right. taken that you drive perfectly :P :). I think that my route may not be fastest but it's the easiest- with some crashes you can still win
i've tried both of those and they're still extremely unforgiving, you're very right about "no failures allowed." making things even more frustrating (and harder to figure out what's the best way to go), i feel like the ais fuck up and crash a lot more if you're near them. when i took ivy's route (and thus had ivy relatively near me), i was a good distance ahead of ivy and savo still beat us by quite a bit. when i took savo's route (and likewise with him), ivy finished way before me, and savo himself fell far behind me and was constantly crashing into things. overall after numerous attempts, savo's did seem faster, but even on my best runs with only a couple minor collisions, the best i could get was finishing just a split second after someone else took 1st. anyway i haven't yet tried the route in the video, but that's because i literally just came here since i'm replaying the game and this event has me pissed as hell and i'm trying to find help. so i'll see how it works out lol

I done this route raptorer87 showed and done it in 2 mins and 12 secs that’s still a quick route done it in the Torque JX it’s the traffic you need to dodge cos the racers on the map have no traffic that explains why they are winning quickly

This is the most unfair track. Unordered Races are unfair anyway. Your Opponents dont have any traffic on their route, so they can race without crashing anything.
