Great video. Very informative, especially for those new to or considering a WFPB lifestyle. The initial stocking of my pantry with items I didn’t use before was the most expensive. I use a lot more spices, vinegars, dates, nuts, seeds, etc now. Honestly, Walmart has come a long way. I’m able to find most of what I need there, organic and many specialty items. My Walmart (not all do) even has Date Lady date syrup for less than what it is online and no shipping. I drive 40 miles to Trader Joe’s/Sprouts and Costco about once a month, to fill in. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I’m just so excited about this lifestyle and hope more people come on board. Thanks again!
I regularly make tomato soup and I eat this soup not only as soup but the next day, for example, as a pasta sauce. Just add some vegetables and some Italian herbs (often not even necessary because the thyme that I use in the tomato soup is tasty enough). Tomato soup is also a good basis for many Indian recipes or Mexican recipes. Add lentils or beans and some vegetables and herbs and the tomato soup suddenly becomes a completely different recipe. Oh yes, and at the end of the week you can often make a delicious vegetable dish from all the leftover vegetables. Greetings from the Netherlands

Love this! I just started sharing videos on my UA-cam channel about how our family of 4 has made this WFPB lifestyle work for us for the past 14 years. Keeping it simple and our Instant Pots (yes, plural 😂) have been key!
Instant pot is going out of business, at least their operations in the US have closed down. Their business model is terrible. Their Instant Pots are built to well, they don't break down, so people are not buying new ones. I am thinking to purchase another one, in case something will ever happen to my instant pot😅. Another great video, thank you.
When I went completely plant based my grocery budget for the month went from $400 to $250.00. I am single and usually eat leftovers from the night before for lunch. I almost always make enough for several meals and freeze them in portion size bags. I also buy for the month at 1 trip then I can buy larger quantities which almost always cost less. Fresh veggies from my local farm are a weekly purchase. This month I plan to have around $40 00 left over
Wow! Great work! We try to do similar and just load up on produce weekly. Doesn't always work out as we've got two teenagers with endless pitts for stomachs : )
I'm so glad that you mentioned the International grocery stores! They have phenomenal prices on their produce and spices! And the variety, forget about it! It's unmatched compared to my local "regular" grocery stores! And if you're looking for something or can't find it, the employees are super nice and helpful! I love the warehouse stores like Costco, Sam's Club, & BJ's! Excellent stores to stock up on bulk foods! If I need something quick, the Farmer's Market or we have Aldi's here in The States. Oh! I LOVE the chia pudding blended! It's soooo good! This was great for folks that don't know where to start! Cheers! 😁
I miss all the ethnic stores I would shop at before moving from the GTA to North Bay but I have found a few online. I would also suggest to price match which has helped with pantry items as well as fruits and vegetables
Fantastic content, so clear, concise and helpful! I just got my first instant Pot and so far made only soy yogurt (1 success and 1 failure). I just ordered a Euro Cuisine yogurt strainer to create a greek yogurt consistency. I am determined to get it right! I would love to see a video of demonstrations of how you make dried beans and various grains in the IP. I know there is a lot on UA-cam, but I would love to see it in one of your videos because I like how you explain things. Thank you!
Took me a few tries to get yogurt figured out. I actually have a video idea for the new year with an Instant Pot compilation, so perhaps I could incluide this information in it!
Hey neighbour. I'm in Hamilton. I keep meaning to check out the Indian grocery store that is directly behind me. I just moved. I had some random person tell me at the park that they have amazing prices on meat. I just politely thanked them, but meant to check it out for all of the other stuff. Thanks for the reminder.
Howdy!!! Let me know what sorta deals you find there - those places are usually goldmines! The Indian grocery near our place sells bananas that are starting to spot for next to nothing - perfect for baking, smoothies, etc...
We are practically neighbours 😊 hello from London ON 😊😊 great channel…been watching it a lot with my 10 year old son. He finds your videos really fun and interesting and wants to try things he sees you make so that’s a win!
Oh wow!!! Thank you for sharing - this made my day!!!! Please let me know if you make any of them and what he likes!!! Also - I’m in London right now!!! Just for the night. Took the family to Zen Za for pizza!!!
@@pbwithjeremy now that is a crazy coincidence haha he has his eye on the smoothie with the cookie dough balls (go figure) 😂 actually he’s my little conscious foodie, always wanting to make good choice while also being kind to animals and the planet. Proud mama here. My 13 year old will eat what I make as long as it’s good, all about the yum 🤣
Just read in the paper recently, that the Instant Pot went out of business. Don't know if they sold it to another company, but the article said they tried to branch out and offer other things and it did not work. Don't know. Luckily, I got both the small and larger one some time ago, so I'm set for life (I think).
Great video! We've been on a super tight budget this year and I have found it even easier to eat plant based on a budget! We just stay away from the premade goodies. 😊
I found a great food processor at the Goodwill for 6.99. I’ve been using it lately to make pear sauce and pear butter. But I’ve also used it to make a vegan parm cheez (had several ask for the recipe at potluck). I think I’m going to try using it to prep veggies.
I live approx 2 hrs away from Ottawa, in a small rural area. Where I have access to 1 grocery store in one town and a few regular grocery stores about an hour away where I work, I use dry beans, grains potatoes frozen veggies, and fruit, I also grow most of my veggies in the summer, again a little extra work and money but you yield so much it is definitely cheaper in the long run
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing! There's always a solution, sadly sometimes it means extra work for ourselves, but the results are worth it. We grow some of our own veggies too. Food prices are getting insane no matter where you live.
Vancouver so always interested in prices. Couscous is pasta, not a grain. Salvation Army/ thrift, Craigslist, etc is what I use for appliances vs buying new. I try to find the "about to go off" section because I hate waste. Being in Vancouver and not needing a car, it can get time consuming but going to different stores and buying what's on sale through the week and then making meals around that are my jam. I still write things down so I don't go off the rails but it usually works out.
I've only been trying for about 2wks. I'm earing mostly raw, no dairy or meat ect. I'm doing Dr Gs HN, so trying to eat 16oz per day, finding it easier to drink smoothies, I am eating salad, baked potatoes but I love cheese and butter on my potatoes so I'm not eating potatoes xx Im uk, we dont have as much variety as in canada and uda x
This video just came up in my feed to watch. So glad it did! Really looking forward to watching more content and hitting up your website! New subscriber for sure! Also, from KC for now….although trying to save to move to Alaska!
I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Being such a small country and far from other countries we get not much imported fresh produce so nearly all seasonal. Unfortunately we have two main supermarket chains and these are expensive and not competitive. For many years I used a pressure cooker for cooking beans but I now have the marvellous Instant Pot. Have you tried baking potatoes in the Instant Pot? Much quicker than in the oven. We don’t have a microwave.
Sorry to hear about the situation where you live. That's gotta make you creative in the kitchen though! I have done potatoes - but more for steaming. Have you baked them? do they come out crispy??
@@pbwithjeremy no, they don’t come out crispy. Lovely and fluffy inside but need to be finished off in the oven or air fryer to get them crispy on the outside.
My favorite food stores are Costco and Trader Joe’s, and then Stop and Shop or ShopRite for items not found in my top 2 stores. I have a Vitamix and a cuisinart but I don’t have an instant pot. What size do you recommend? I also like to batch cook and freeze soups and stews. My crock pot is 6 quarts and I wish I had an 8 quart. Do you have an instant pot demonstration video? I don’t know how to use one and am a bit intimidated by the pressure cooker release aspect. Lots of good tips here! Thanks!
My pleasure! Instant Pot seems to have gone bankrupt as a company (I think because they tried to make other products and they didn't work as well - IP is SOLID) so if you're going to get one I'd do it soon - I highly recommend. They're REALLY easy to use - seriously. Lots of information on the web. And in the videos where I use it I explain how. There are other pressure cookers on the market too. Sadly we don't have Trader Joe's in Canada, but whenever I'm stateside I stock up!!!
There's a ceramic dish in my house that's always at least filled up halfway with a batch of it. I can make that stuff in my sleep now :) nom nom nom So glad you like it!
What's yours? For me, the smoothness of this was a game-changer. And I'm proud that a lot of the people who have said they've never liked chia pudding changed their mind after this one.
@@pbwithjeremy Chocolate Chia Pudding 1/3 cup chia seeds 1/4 cup raw cacao powder 1/4 cup pure maple syrup 1 can full-fat coconut milk Stir all ingredients together, cover and refrigerate overnight - it gets very thick and has an ice cream texture... I like to top it with hemp seeds and banana or berries *Note: if you substitute the coconut milk with soy milk, it will get a slimy texture 👎
Yours will be fattier for sure - mine uses just plan non-dairy unsweetened milk, dates instead of maple syrup, the rest is the same basically. And blending. Let me know what you think!!! I'm curious to try yours!
@@pbwithjeremy just made your recipe and it’s in the fridge for dessert tonight. You’ll have to make mine and we’ll swap notes lol We should do a video with our kids trying both and see which one wins 😜
Hi from the UK, we are eating lots of fresh produce from our garden at the moment and my freezer is bursting with produce can’t use quickly enough. I have stopped canning much food, I prefer fresh or frozen.
@@pbwithjeremy we are currently harvesting strawberries, blackberries, apples, pears, tomatoes, cucumber, courgette, gherkins, raspberries, potatoes, beetroot and carrots. We did have broccoli and cauliflower but first a hare ate them and when they recovered they got caterpillars and even though you can soak them to get rid it creeped me out so much I can’t eat them any more!
I almost ate a bug in a caulflower casserole we made - didn't find it till after it was cooked. UGH. Your crop sounds AMAZING!!! So lucky! We try to garden ourselves - what's your secret to it?
Found your channel recently, watching from the tropical paradise of Cairns in Australia. I love the testing recipes from cookbooks. I would like to see some recipes tested from Beat Cancer Kitchen. I am fortunate to live near some farms, we get bananas for $2 a kilo (Aus)and imperfect avocados 4 for $2, pumpkin $3 each. We also have a veggie patch but not sure the cost of that is cheaper than the grocery store.
Welcome!!!! A few people have recommended that book so it’s on the list for sure!!! Mmmmm cheap bananas and avocados. Heaven!!! So do you grow some of your own veg???
@pbwithjeremy we grow tomatoes, lettuce, bok choy, chilli, spring onion and we tried to grow capsicum (bell pepper) and we tried to grow leeks but it was not successful.
That's awesome - we're constantly playing and exploring in our garden - maybe I'll do a haul video of what we grow this year? Would that be interesting?
Eugene Oregon. I am overwhelmed by the "4 Serving" I m it. There's no one else. I see those recipes and I think "Do I really want to eat curry for 4 days?"
Totally get that - maybe consider cutting the recipes in half and then you're only eating 2? Or freeze extra portions so you're not eating them all at once maybe? Hope this helps a little!
I had 7 ounces of white beans into a giant, 32 ounce smoothie with 3 ounces of kale, blueberries, strawberries, orange, and it turns into a meal with a ton of nutrition
Here in the US, those of us who focused on plant based eating didn’t suffer the degree of sticker shock when our inflation sky rocketed because it was the processed food that took the hit. A $3 bag of green went up 25 cents. A$3 load of bread went up $1.50. And cookies and chips? That was just too sad to talk about.
Great video with many helpful tips, so thank you! I have to tease you a bit. I don't think you're an actual Canadian. I'm pretty sure you are Italian switched at birth. Your hand gestures are very Mediterranean! Please keep the budget ideas and WFPB meal planning ideas coming. Thanks as always!
Bonjour, je vous écoute de Montreal, Quebec. Thank you for all the information you give on your chanel and web site. I love the taste of oats but do not like the texture of oatsmeal, il is to muchy for me, do you have a alternative beside cranola bars and granola for eating oats for breakfast?
Great video! I agree with your appliance choices .I too bought a refurbished Vitamix. A Ninja Professional food processor is relatively inexpensive.I would add a Nutribullet. As I mentioned before, Dillon and Reebs Holmes(Well Your World) have amazing delicious and quick big pot meals. Loving your Channel from South Central Massachusetts, USA.Check out Simnett Nutrition.
Thanks for this - already a big fan of Derek at Simnett - I've been following him for years - a fellow Canuck :) Can't remember if it was you that inspried it, but looking to maybe do a Well Your World "What I Eat" video at some point :)
@@pbwithjeremy I am a Well Your World fan. I have their three cookbooks. Their starch blaster is a great recipe. I also love a Colcannon Soup one from one of their videos. I believe it's regarding fan favorites for weight loss. Mexican Charro Beans are also a hit! Bin Appetit!!!!
I love my instant pot too but I’m having issues with it and it’s only a few months old. I tried to do a delayed start for oat groats, so it would be ready in the morning. I have looked at the directions and I have looked on UA-cam and I do not think my delay button works. I have the instant pot duo Pro. I believe it has the whisper quiet steam cover on the top & a dial knob button from for selecting & time, and a button that says delay. When I try to go through the steps and press delay, the light doesn’t light up, and nothing happens with the clock. When I press and hold the cancel button, all the lights shine up on the front of the pot including the delay button, so there is a light that works on the delay button, that’s it. Anyone else have trouble with this feature?
I don't see the need for PB recipe books.. any recipe is easy to modify.. I often used to swap mince beef for bell peppers & mushrooms, etc. The more highly flavoured the sauce, the less significant is the "meat".. as per the cuisines of the poor.
@@pbwithjeremy As I see it, the problem is that the proposed, WFPB solution to the SAD isn't going to happen. For most, a PB future will involve swapping processed food comprising some animal products, for processed food comprising none. If processed food is "the devil", rather than any WFs, what is gained by folk?

So good!
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Nice!!! My website is filled with stuff kids will like!!! So proud of your son. Please tell him I said hello!!!
@@pbwithjeremy I absolutely will! Thanks Jeremy ☺️
Just read in the paper recently, that the Instant Pot went out of business. Don't know if they sold it to another company, but the article said they tried to branch out and offer other things and it did not work. Don't know. Luckily, I got both the small and larger one some time ago, so I'm set for life (I think).
I know the Mealthy multipot company stopped making their pressure cookers. But haven't heard anything about that on Instant Pot
Yes. I remember seeing that too. I imagine someone else will buy the company. But if not…. I should buy a backup….
Food processor changed my life 🙌
Right?! It's practically essential if you're going to be plant-based, IMO
Great video! We've been on a super tight budget this year and I have found it even easier to eat plant based on a budget! We just stay away from the premade goodies. 😊
Yup - that's the real savings!
I found a great food processor at the Goodwill for 6.99. I’ve been using it lately to make pear sauce and pear butter. But I’ve also used it to make a vegan parm cheez (had several ask for the recipe at potluck). I think I’m going to try using it to prep veggies.
Great find!!!! Those things can be super expensive!
Also - we have the same last name!
Yep we do...lol @@pbwithjeremy
Thanks!
Thank you!!!
I love your videos and am watching from Moravia NY!
THank you! We did a video recently on a family trip to NYC - look it up if you want to see something close to home :)
Thanks for the tips here from Vancouver!
I live in Arlington, Virginia, USA- Thanks for a great video, I'm new to your channel and am learning some good tips.
Thanks for watching! So glad this is helpful!!
This is such a great video!! Thank you so much from Boston! 😊🌱
You are so welcome!

Howdy!!!! My sons fav place in Kingston is Harpers Burger Bar!
SUPER SMART> Love this hack, Brilliant!
Im from Hillsboro Oregon, right outside Portland.😊
I’m desperate to go to Portland!
Great tips! Watching from Arkansas.

Great Video!
Thanks for the visit
Unsure if you’ve cooked through The Blue Zone cookbook, would love to watch 😊great recipes
I have in the past but not yet on the channel - on the list!
I tried your granola recipe and it was delicious
There's a ceramic dish in my house that's always at least filled up halfway with a batch of it. I can make that stuff in my sleep now :) nom nom nom So glad you like it!
I am transitioning to veganism. I have learned to stock up on a combination of fresh and frozen vegetables and fruit.
Smart :)
Ooh I have a good chia pudding recipe but…. gonna have to make this one for sure
What's yours? For me, the smoothness of this was a game-changer. And I'm proud that a lot of the people who have said they've never liked chia pudding changed their mind after this one.
@@pbwithjeremy Chocolate Chia Pudding
1/3 cup chia seeds
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 can full-fat coconut milk
Stir all ingredients together, cover and refrigerate overnight - it gets very thick and has an ice cream texture... I like to top it with hemp seeds and banana or berries
*Note: if you substitute the coconut milk with soy milk, it will get a slimy texture 👎
@@pbwithjeremy I like the idea of blending it! Will try this week and let you know how it compares 😜
You’ll have to make mine and we’ll swap notes lol
We should do a video with our kids trying both and see which one wins 😜

Hi from the UK, we are eating lots of fresh produce from our garden at the moment and my freezer is bursting with produce can’t use quickly enough. I have stopped canning much food, I prefer fresh or frozen.
Thanks for writing! What are you growing in your garden???
@@pbwithjeremy show what you plant and updates and finally the harvest.
@@carolypoly Passed the planting part of the season - maybe for next year!
That sounds really thick - do you add any liquid to that?
Here in the US, those of us who focused on plant based eating didn’t suffer the degree of sticker shock when our inflation sky rocketed because it was the processed food that took the hit. A $3 bag of green went up 25 cents. A$3 load of bread went up $1.50. And cookies and chips? That was just too sad to talk about.
Good to hear bits been a bit brutal north of the border here.
Ha - I've never been teased in THIS way. Let keep this rumour of my Italian heritage going - I like it :)

Sorry to hear this. Have you contacted the company?

I don't see the need for PB recipe books.. any recipe is easy to modify.. I often used to swap mince beef for bell peppers & mushrooms, etc. The more highly flavoured the sauce, the less significant is the "meat".. as per the cuisines of the poor.
Amen. My thoughts exactly. We started out by modifying our regular cookbooks before PB cookbooks even existed.
