As someone that went through the foster system, I thank you with ALL of my heart! Because of Angels like you and my mom I ended up being saved from a terrible life and was given the most amazing and loving family I could have ever dreamed of!! It takes very special people to do what you do! God Bless you and yours!!

So happy that everything turned out so well for you and your mum 💖 Things can be really tough in life and we all need a helping hand at times, some of us more than others, but however much help we need, we should never feel ashamed to ask for it. Your mum must be a very strong lady to be able to get you both into a safe haven. I admire her greatly and wish you both many happy, and most of all _safe_ years to come 💞
As an unofficial "mum" to a whole bunch of waifs and strays brought home by my own kids (often to get them out of their homes for a break), I've lost count of how many people have called me "Mum" at some point or other. Though my husband would be the world's best foster dad (his mum was a social worker and he never knew who'd be there when he got home from school lol), I would be dreadful! I'm the "I can't let them go!" type, and I would find my heart being ripped out on a regular basis! Besides, I've been disabled for nearly 30 years, so I'm not suitable. My grandkids are hard enough work! 🤣 I have all the admiration in the world for foster parents like in the video. I don't blame her daughter for falling in love with the little one and adopting him. I'd have done the same thing!
Unofficial fostering is something I'm very happy to have been able to do. In fact I'm still doing it on the odd occasion. One of my sons came back home to live and work after uni. He's on the Asperger's spectrum and though he managed the 3 years at uni - with Grandma less than 10 miles away, thankfully! - he finds full-time work really difficult, so finding his own place is nigh on impossible. We don't mind, we're both disabled now and he's a strapping lad who loves to cook!
He's got a lot of friends in the LGBT+ community, and currently one of his trans friends who lives away (funnily enough, in the same city as my youngest) finds coming home very stressful. Her father basically doesn't talk to her (he's a bigot who can't deal with the fact that he has a daughter now, despite still having at least one other son. I think there are two. In case anyone is wondering, her pronouns are she/her, so I'm not being ignorant.)
Her mother is just a nightmare of a controlling batshit crazy entitled "parent" - she insists on having trackers on everyone's phone, including, but not limited to, her husband's and nieces' & nephews'!🤦🏻♀️ (Our friend is the only one to say "no" to her! She's got a very stiff spine 💪) Despite being in her late 20s, when at her parents' place she isn't allowed to shut her bedroom door, let alone lock it 🤷🏻♀️ Naturally she has a haven here and she's more than welcome to lock any door! Some parents don't deserve the title 🤦🏻♀️

Yeah, this video is cute and it's genius and I love the matching clothes and matching behavior, but really, in the end, the best part of this is the great work this foster parent is doing. She seems like the perfect foster. In every way. I'm sure her unseen family members are just as tremendous. And, Buddy, holy hell. Those glasses alone are enough to make you fall in love. What a lucky little kid. Maybe some little brothers and sisters in his future? This family looks like just the type who can accomplish amazing things. PS - Reagan is gorgeous. And so sweet!

For 11 months that dog is so mature. Usually at this time in puppy stage they're always hyper and excited. And he's so gentle and calm. What a good boy. 😘😁

The boy’s name is not actually Buddy. They just call him that partly because it is his nickname but more so because he is a foster child and they aren’t allowed to disclose that information publicly.

Neat story, looks like this young fellow got into a great family. The bond between boy, dog and family is tremendous. This woman did a great job using this video to highlight the need for our foster care system. The dog looks like he would be a great companion on any home.
Alex Shields dogs are a great companion for all kids, especially those that may be shy or having trouble in their life, just an example... I have a Staffordshire Terrier Mix and he’s the most Amazing Dog I’ve ever owned... I’ve been asked since before he was a year old to make him a therapy dog, because he loves people so much but kids even more. We also figured it would help get rid of that horrible stereotype they’re labeled with. Anyone can make a dog a bad one, just like a child... If you beat it enough, verbally abuse it enough, starve it enough, etc... It may become a bit cranky. I will say though that this breed is the most forgiving breed I’ve ever seen. Give them a loving owner, someone that just shows them some kind of compassion and they’ll give you a smile, from ear to ear and one of their ginormous kisses... I’ve had just about every dog breed out there, or range I should say and this dog is the most loving, sweetest, and smartest dog I’ve ever owned. I’m sad that he’s already 4yrs old. If I had an extra $50,000 sitting around, I’d have him cloned! hahaha.

yea, i had one dog in particular, i would have loved to grow old with him and he could cheat at checkers as we sit on the lawn at the old folks home :)
I had a particular dog for nearly 15 years and it was the worst thing ever when he passed esp. because I saw him take that last breath... that’s the hardest thing but then the sweet memories replaces that for years after.
I agree yet I think of the wonderful dogs I wouldn't have enjoyed if my first dog were still with me.
I have a dog that looks identical, she is a golden doodle, her name is Molly and I can’t take her anywhere without people stopping us and wanting to meet her!!!

Adopt a dog from shelter. Important is to have much time for the dog because they are the same as kids. It's the same as adopting a human baby and dogs stay babies their whole lives and can't be left alone ever.

What a beautiful memory you're giving to all of them - even when they can't stay.
The dog looks like a hairy human. Their bond is precious. This woman and her family are truly heroes. I wish all foster homes were like theirs.
When I was a baby, my uncle and aunt (Who lived with us) got a dog named Ozzy. They got him before I was even born. And when I was born, he stayed by my side all the time. We grew up together. He’s still here now! He’s 10 years old now and has something wrong with his eyes but it doesn’t stop him from anything. Now he has a little sister named Gracie and she’s so sweet! I have her sister who’s named bitty. They’re very happy with us and I don’t know what I’d do without them. 😊

I can’t say how much I adore this woman. Two of my kiddos are adopted from foster care and we fostered thirteen. I wish my own family had cared so deeply for our kiddos. We have used therapy dogs to help our foster kiddos bond and adjust to a difficult time in their lives.

Could totally relate to this story. My family also did foster care. Our first was days old when we got him from the hospital. We got to be with him for 3 months and then he was adopted with a beautiful family. That first 2 weeks was like a death. But now he is 13 and doing wonderful with his family. My daughter eventually adopted one of our babies. He is now 14. What a blessing he has been in my life as his Grandma. Beautiful story of a boy and his doggie...
