    You made it look easy to replace that starter compared to other UA-camrs. Thanks

    I tried to replace my 2009 Toyota Corolla’s alternator and battery, but it won’t start. I will try to replace a new starter and hopefully it will start!

      It's a real easy process take your time and disconnect the battery first if you're not experienced.

    Nice vid. I have the same car and the starter makes a vacuum cleaning noise even when the key isnt in the ignition, no start, no click, just the vacuum noise. The noise lasts for several minutes before stopping. Just had the starter replaced a month ago. The other day I had it towed back to the mechanic and he claimed it started right away for him. Drove it home, went to start it the next day, same issue. No start/click/nothing just the vacuum cleaner noise. Starting to wonder if they even replaced the starter and just charged me for one anyway bc the starter looks old as hell. Sketchy. Might take it to another mechanic even tho I've been going to my current one for a decade.

      @Repairsbyctop  10 місяців тому

      It shouldn't look that old after one month. There are some sketchy people out there. They could've taken it apart and cleaned it up a bit in hopes that it would continue working. I'd make a video of it not starting and show the mechanic.

      I got it towed back again and it looks like they indeed put a new starter in this time. Looks new unlike the other one. Luckily they didnt charge me again.@@Repairsbyctop

    Well ain't that something they actually put it up front where you can see it and it looks pretty accessible (just did a '97).

  • @callmebackfriday2
    @callmebackfriday2 2 роки тому +3

    Do you have to remove the bolt holding the dipstick to gain more room to screw in the top bolt? I cannot access or turn on the top bolt. Thanks for the video.

      @Repairsbyctop  2 роки тому +2

      Sorry for the late reply.
      I'm not sure if yours is the same engine but this is the 1.8 and I didn't have to remove the dip stick bolt.

      The car he was working on had that bolt missing, which is the one that’s a pain in the ass to take out

    • @callmebackfriday2
      @callmebackfriday2 2 роки тому

      @@DanielRamirez-in6lt Oh yes. You are absolutely correct. In additional to that, it is much easier if the car has 5 speed (manual, don't have auto dip stick) because the auto transmission's dip stick bracket and dip stick are blocking the top bolt. I able to find a video to remove the top bolt much easier. Thanks for your reminder and comments.

    Very nice the last starter i changed was in the seventies, on 67 Impala. My question is what were the symptoms of that Corolla before you know for sure to replace it. My Corolla 2009 just does not crank at all only one quite click in the car you can here. But i am not sure it's a starter. What do you say sir. Thanks, Mike

    • @Repairsbyctop
      @Repairsbyctop  Рік тому

      I knew it was the starter because the car would crank if I tapped on it with a big wrench while someone turned the key.

      @@RepairsbyctopDoes slow cranking is a bad starter symptom?

    • @Repairsbyctop
      @Repairsbyctop  Місяць тому +1

      @@kito1san
      It could. Also it could be because of poor connections and an under charged or bad battery.

    • @kito1san
      @kito1san Місяць тому

      @@Repairsbyctopok. I went to AutoZone and did a battery check. Came out to be a bad battery. The CCA test didn't pass. The battery did pass charging and had the normal volts. However the CCA didn't pass hence why it was slow cranking. After a new battery, everything is normal now.

      @Repairs by C-Top Yeah I just bought a 09 Toyota corolla 1.8 ltr. The starter is grinding every time it's break time that it's frozen outside so I'm triggering that it's time for a new starter. Thanks for showing me how to do it the easy way, I really do appreciate it.
