He didn't have passport booklet. European countries have 2 types of passports now, one a card like a license and other one is traditional passport booklet. Morocco only accepts traditional passport booklet
You can't use the passport card to travel to Morocco. The countries for which the card is valid are clearly stated on the Irish government website. It is valid for travel to all EU Member States, the members of the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway), Switzerland and the United Kingdom ONLY. Besides that, Morocco stamps ALL passports on entry and exit and the card can't be stamped. You are lucky in one sense; you were not put in a cell for the night which is what would have happened if a foreigner had been refused entry at Dublin.
Thanks for the comments and the information.I do agree I was lucky not be put in a cell for the night as I said in the video the police officers I was speaking with knew it was a genuine mistake and blamed Ryanair for letting me board but I still should have done my research lesson learned 😅
The Passport Card is only valid for UK/EU/EEA. Whatever possessed you to believe you could get into anywhere else with it? It's completely your own fault & not Ryanair's.
I agree with you mostly what possessed me I suppose it’s easy to forget Morroco is Africa, and outside the Eu.However, when boarding at Ryanair in Dublin, should I have been allowed travel to a country outside the European Union without a proper passport for that country? This is the problem the Irish government raised and have imposed increased fines on Ryanair for allowing persons travel without due care and diligence but lesson learned and hopefully it highlights some flaws in the system and people can learn from my mistakes 😅
You haf to wait for the Irish police immigration... is this going to impact your future travels? is that going down on your travel history as a deportation?
No the police in Marrakesh, said I was more then welcome to come back and stay up to 90 days as long as I had the correct passport and Irish immigration also were very nice about things and knew it was a genuine mistake So all is good 👍
It is the card passport is just the European Union the issue was Morroco is outside Europe so the card passport don’t work but the uk and Ireland even though outside the Eu has the Immigration Act 1971 was amended by adding "An Irish citizen does not require leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom... our visa versa but yes a paper version passport is needed for Morroco or outside the EU Hope this helps 👍
I don't understand why he was denied entry to Marrakech. What was the reason for his denial? Can someone explain better? Thanks in advance.

I really thought that was pretty obvious you couldn't get into USA which is a card passport that I know of unless it changed that
You wouldn't have to wait 4 days. You could have gone by London
Or paris Amsterdam
@@travelbyplanestrainandcruise 100% 👍
I have a booklet type of passport. I presume this is OK to enter morroco?
The booklet passport is no issue once they can stamp it going in and out no issue you can stay up to 90 days as the police also informed me or this👍

No he was refused entry not deported (in any correct legal meaning of the term deported).
