Exploring Our Latest Project: Country House #1 Unveiled!

- Hello everyone, welcome to our first Wednesday video in quite a while and hopefully it'll be the first of many, covering a couple of both new and ongoing projects that we have.
Our Sunday night episodes will always be our main ones and I'll like to say that we'll never miss one, but if we have enough content from different jobs then we'll post them every Wednesday.
This episode is the first one from a new extension situated in the beautiful English countryside and it's a slightly different style of video than maybe you're used to.
Due to issues that are explained in the video there's a lot more music and a lot less talking! Also, we are trying to keep these Wednesday videos at about half an hour long, so let's see what happens!
Episode one takes us from explaining the job, digging out, concrete and a little bit of bricklaying!
What more could you possibly want??!!!
Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for watching, take care.
"BUSTED" you are a true bricklayer, after few mins watching other videos of yours, and 25 years on the trowel myself, you walk the walk and talk the talk, and have a natural aproach to the bricks and mortar. you have to love it and not hate it which i ended up doing !
Thank you Dave! Very kind of you to say. Apologies for the late reply,.hope you're well.
im hooked on MR A BUILDERS the work is to the highest standard well done to you guys
Ah thank you, mate! Appreciate that. Hope you're well.
Another great picture perfect job! Can’t get enough of these great jobs you all do and then take all that extra time videoing it!
Thank you, Don. Appreciate that mate. Take care.
What a beautiful view , all they need now is a nice swimming pool 🤣
Now you're talking! That's a great idea!
Superb and exemplary as always Ad, Rich Matt and mick
Great new series. I do enjoy your naration, explanation and video skills. The drone adds a new dimension to your projects.
Well done. look forward to more.
Nice one, Barry! Hope all is good with you and yours.
I’ve watched every video you’ve made and I’m so happy you’ve started another exciting project, also love the music on the time lapse.
I live in a bungalow! Love seeing how others are extending theirs. Great series! Im looking forward to this.
Great watching as always, so informative and helpful. I'm not a builder but a cabinet maker and keen diyer and this is so useful especially the complicated set out of angles and levels. So easy to get this wrong. I've often wondered if your clients watch your videos? If they don't then they should to appreciate what skill goes into their build and why the work costs what it does.
Sundays and now Wednesdays wow! Can't wait.
Keep up the good work guys.
That bungalow will look awesome when finished, and with those outstanding views across the countryside... Can not wait to see the finished build.. Quality workmanship ... Mr A Builders ...Now on UA-cam Twice a week... You'll be on more times than corrie soon 😅😅 ... Already sat waiting for the next instalment.....
Haha! Hopefully we're a lot less depressing than Corrie! Once again, thank you Poddy! Hope you're well, mate.
Exciting and you are looking very dapper Brad your make up artist is doing a great job. Great to see you guys getting a new job. Thanks, as usual, for posting. Kindest regards Mike (kitchen diner finished)

Cheers, Rich! Appreciate that, mate. Hope.yoire well.
Looks like it’s going to be a good series looking forward to the next episode
Fingers crossed it will be, Stephen! Thank you, for watching.
Fair play Adam, you missed loads of tricky calcs and setting out issues from the vid. That job took some right head scratchin I'll bet !! and you made it look easy as usual. You missed the info about the concrete guys too...?? Rich is gonna have kittens building those hip sections..can't wait for that part !!
Smashing new series guys🙂. I’d love to know where you got the music from. I’m looking forward to seeing the end result on this project 🙂👍
Fantastic looking project. Great to be having two a week too. This looks like its going to be another fantastic and entertaining series. Also, thats one hell of a tall chimney for a bungalow! Keep up the great work
Love these vids Adam glad to see your company growing 👍
What was the issue with the concrete company you alluded to? Thanks for the video.
I love watching you guys hearing that accent, spent most of my life in Chase terrace and seeing Chase plant hire equipment brings back memories.. oh but now im living in northern Spain , keep it up guys
Oh very nice! Fair play to you, mate. Hope you're enjoying it over there!!!
@@mrabuilders6723 been here 9 years missing good British fish and chips also a good Chinese takeaway 😋 👌
@marklloyd9472 I miss them too and I still live here! You're in a far better place, mate!
looks like a nice little job. its a lot of work for very little extra room along the side.
Did you say what the concrete company did? Not sure if I missed it or you forgot to mention
Good video thats going to look great
Thank you, John. Hope you're well, mate.
Great to see Mick back in the thick of it.
Well... there's a tale.to be told there...
@@mrabuilders6723 please do elaborate soon.
Must say what a great location to be working.
Looks an interesting project, Adam. Thanks for sharing.
No problem at all, Brian, thank you for watching!
Two videos in one week. Nice.
Yes mate, for the next few weeks at least! Hope you're well, mate.
Really enjoyed this video and listening to you solve the problems in setting out. Can't wait for next video. PS have you learnt a lesson from the other job and taken the lock of the Portaloo door to stop anyone getting locked in over a weekend? Keep smiling.
Your open and honest on ya channel and its a good insight you give to ya audience on ya channel 👍🏼
Thank you.
Proper job 👌
Cheers, Nibbz! Hope you're well,.mate.
Very good video I’m very interested to hear more about your experience with gb concrete as I used them for one of my projects and everything thing went wrong the concrete set very quickly and cracked so I had it tested it failed grade tests by less than half
Another great series to watch
Let's hope so! Cheers mate!
Really enjoyed this episode, you were going to explain about the concrete company ???
As always, great video & nice looking new job 👍
Another top video mate!
Adam just a ball park figure if you wouldn’t mind,
4m x3m single story for a kitchen extension….drainage to a existing man hole, just the footings/walls/roof and steel beam to open up the rear of the existing property??
Cheers mate! Get in touch via our email or Instagram please mate and we can go through it, best we can.
Me too wish they lived by me I have some work they could do.
What a job to have! A beautiful location. I was wondering, just my sad mind, if the customer is building this under permitted development? It looks like it could be. Is it otherwise? Thanks chaps.
Hello Andy, hope you're well. This is full plans, mate!
Great video excited to watch this new series, and you've inspired me to brick build a 15m2 shed in the garden! What do you use to edit your videos? Thanks
Can already see another cracking series coming up. Again, keep the episodes as long as possible, saves on editing 😉
Haha! If only that was true! Cheers, Ian. Hope you're well, mate.
@mrabuilders6723 all fine here, thanks. Great content, and long may it continue
Ooooh the waffle meter was high in this episode…😂 great to have you twice a week, keep up the good work
Sorry, Steve! I tried!!!
Great new project Adam. Will your partner in crime (Richard) be swanning in at some point? Interesting to see the tortoise in his straw box. My wife bought one in 1970 and we have had him for 54 years now. He lives in an escape proof garden in the summer and then in a box with straw in when he hibernates. Discourage children from getting one as they are a long long term pet that's for sure. 😂
54 years!!!??? Wow!!! Fair play! I do hope that Richard will be joining me, I wouldn't know where to start with the roof!!! Haha! Cheers, Doug. Hope you're well, mate.
@@mrabuilders6723 Yes mate well thanks. You do the donkey work and then Richard turns up with a pencil and saw 😳😁
Nice one Adam! Bit of a ball ache getting parallel off the old house but these things are sent to try us! 😃 Looking forward, as always to see how this progresses. One question (not a criticism, I don’t do that) did you tie in the below damp courses to the old house? With this and the basement job, I’m fixed for the foreseeable future for quality stuff to watch!
Hello Simon, hope you're well, mate. You can always ask whatever question you want! No, I don't tie anything in below damp, once we're above it it's tie city! Cheers mate.
@@mrabuilders6723 Thanks Adam! 👍🏼
@simoncarney9944 no problem at all, mate. Anytime.
If only you was closer to me, I'd have plenty of jobs for you to help keep you all busy mates rate mind you ha ha ha (you know il supply the bacon butties and coffee and you supply the extention ha ha 😂😂😂
What a lovely view and a cracking place to work
Haha! Seems like a fair trade, mate! Cheers man, hope you're well.
@mrabuilders6723 i am not to bad , thank you , just enjoying the videos as always , so a big thank you to you and the team for taking the time to do them
I wonder how long before the farm sells the land next to that polt for vast amount of money and they lose that view
What was the issue with the concrete company? Don't recall you saying? Cheers
Sorry mate, but you'll have to watch the second episode for that!
Relax your thumbs in my direction 😂 nice one Adam.
Haha! We both know that if I hadn't said that, someone would have a pop!!! Cheers mate, hope you're well.
Looks like an interesting job from the plan. Is there significant internal knocking about to do?
Hello Paul, hope you're well. You could say that, yes! Although as it stands we won't be doing any of that, subject to change!
Why no reinforcing steel in the foundation ?
Looks like a great project 👍
How many episodes do you think this will do?
And will it be traditional or more complicated like the last build?
Cheers
Hello mate. Hopefully this one will be way way less complicated! Although the roofs will be a puzzle all by itself!
@@mrabuilders6723 I'm sure you'll figure it out 👍
What the hell is dog toffee, never heard that before. 😂 😂
Haha! It's a nicer way of saying dog shit!!!
Is there a nice view there? You didn't mention it😂 Looks like you'll get some good content out of this one...
Haha! I was waxing lyrical about it wasn't I! Just not used to it mate!
Excellent by the way you need to go in the film industry of your areal footage
Haha! We only bought that drone so you couldn't see my brickwork!
👍👍👍
Cheers, man. Hope you're well.
Those were some seriously thick footers. Didn't see any rebar in the footers. Is that common in your area? How did you attach the new additions to the old foundation?
Hello mate, are you from across the pond by any chance?
@@mrabuilders6723 Yes. Very much from the other side of the pond. UA-cam just recommended your channel and I'm finding it very interesting, with very different construction techniques and building processes then from this side of the pond. Very interesting. Cool videos.
New it! Where about are you, mate? We don't use rebar in foundations over here as a rule. Sometimes the ground conditions will call for it but it's quite rare in the area that we work. Also, we don't tie the new foundations to the old ones. One of the reasons for that is a lot of the times there are no old foundations! Just bricks built on dirt!
@@mrabuilders6723 I'm in the Pacific Northwest in the USA in the state of Washington, just north of Oregon. Rebar is used in our foundations to handle any flex loads on the concrete foundations but our foundations are not as thick as the one in the video. We also use it to tie the foundation to the building walls for anything underground like in basement walls. Wood framing is then bolted to the foundation walls as well to anchor the building to the foundation.
Brilliant
Cheers, Tony!
Let's hope they don't build an estate to house migrants on that land. 😊😊😊😊
What did the concrete company do? You mentioned you would show us and we would work out if we would use them?
Yes mate, I did. Sorry about that. I'll show all in the next episode I promise. Just trying to keep these videos around 30 mins or less!
So what did the concrete company do?????
Can you share ,your music ,withDJ projects?
Hello Mr Bond, I've been expecting you.... although I'm not too sure what you mean???
👍
Hello Chris, hope you're well mate.
@@mrabuilders6723 hi I’m good thanks , another interesting project to watch 👍
Nice one, Chris. Yes, hopefully! Take care.
Lovely view, shame it’s a bungalow.
What happens to the view in 10 years time when there is a housing estate on that field next door?
That's the spirit!
@@mrabuilders6723 Hopefully the view remains for decades to come, but you see it all the time, every field near a main road quickly becomes another estate.
@includenull fingers crossed this one won't!
@johncolley3317 haha! Problem solved!
Did I miss the issue with the concrete Bloke
No David, sorry mate, I forgot to mention it! It'll be in next week's episode!
Labour have announced plans to allow development of green belt so won't unfortunately stay nice
What a bl@@dy row
Soz.
Were the concreting company any good?
Hmmm....they were ok...there's a bit of a story there, which I should have told in this episode...I'll definitely do so in the nest one. Sorry about that!
Am I missing something I can’t see the eBay link ?
Sorry Chris! I've sorted the issue so you should be able to click the link in the description now. Please let me know if there's an issue.
Got it , I can see it now 👍
What was the issue with the concrete guys?
I have never had volumetric without any issues(-: maybe it was that massive pile of dry mix in the footings
Sorry mate, forgot to mention that didn't I! I'll cover it next week's episode!
afternoon or evening .....
...and goodnight!
@@mrabuilders6723 lol great video as always have a good remainder of the week .... i assume the chimney on the job will be going ? will be a shame if it does .....
First
Haha! Congratulations!
why didnt you guys just do footings and then form the foundation and not use so much concrete? im guessing because you always use brick and never lumber. so odd to the way i have always seen things done. always love the videos.
