Cooking a 1/2lb gourmet burger on the Tomshoo Wood burning stove in the rain.
It was a wet one! thankfully I had shelter as I was in the woods filming for my upcoming "Hammock Cammping Do's and Don'ts" vid which is out on friday 11/12/29. (subscribe to be notified)

Your setup of the stove was incorrect, the base was upside down. The stick stove is open bottomed and heat radiates down. You needed to clear any fuel from below the stove. The leaves were wet and saved you an embarassing incident.
Damn, he didn't even notice when the Tomshoo Logo was upside down.
Love the lunch box , keep it simple keep it real , now i have a couple old tin one think i found a use for one awesome thanks for the idea.
love tho stove put together wrong but it brought a smile , great video , great food great love to see you do more videos on tour stove . i have the Ohuhu same idea cracking vid , Thx for taking the time to make this video. looks like a great set up you have very comfy.

Love these wood gasification stoves as you say plenty of burn time on minimal wood especially when stacked in properly, also nice cheap stove

That's a cool little stove and this video has reminded me I need one of those little white tables lol, keep forgetting to get one.
Love the different angles when you were cooking your burgers definitely worth the extra effort pal. Ive got a Lixada Firebox and need to get using it again, after watching this one and some videos of people cooking in their local woods I might give it a blast.

I'm thinking of buying one of these stoves. You may want to try using cotton balls coated with ordinary Vaseline for starting your stoves. Cheap and effective and they don't smell. I just keep them in a small zip-loc bag and when I want to use one, I take it out of the bag and tease it out a bit as a fire-starter.
I think you have to turn the bottom part, but it does not seem to make much difference. Nice forest.

P.S. When I do a cook my trick is using a small Swedish log I find it works best! Give it a try.

Nice one shaun, that was a chilled day out fair play. I have 2 Wood burners. One is a lixada, used that a few times. And one similar looking to yours but forgot the name of it. Will have to dig it out and make a vid myself with it

There are only 3 videos on youtube, with demonstration of correct using of Ohuhu wood gasifier stove clones. With burning from top down, not from bottom up.
Have you found your opinel gets tight where the wood handle expands. I can't keep mine free moving it constantly seizes up.
Mines so far so good mate, it hasn't had a huge amount of use outdoors yet, but I use it around the house often 🙂👍

Pre grated cheese no good mate, so many sulphites and additives it don’t melt good also tastes shit

I absolutely love my Tomshoo stick stove and there isn't much wrong with it at all! I too got mine gifted to me and it is a great bit of kit! That little knife was sweet as well!
