Seen 'em three times ... the last with Walter ... then fucking Covid ... would love to again. The band still sounds so tight. Love Jon Herington's style on this signature solo ... one of the best. Always great to see Keith Carlock on drums ... still!
Just saw them in PHX a couple weeks ago. Hands down best concert I’ve ever been to. True fucking players. Carlock was an absolute animal, especially on the Aja solos. Life changing type concert
My fav among many great SD classics! Original rhythm section of Purdy and Raney was just killer - a masterpiece of lyrics, guitar solo, and in the pocket funk.
I’ve been heavy into The Dan for about 10 years now, especially the Royal Scam album. Just found out from some UA-cam video like 2 weeks ago that Bernard was the drummer on the entire Royal Scam album, can’t believe I missed that!!
A friend from my hometown ended up playing with Chuck Rainey some years back. Went out to see them one night and we all loaded up and went out for some food after the show. Somebody stuck a Steely Dan CD in. Pretty soon Chuck said "Hey, this is pretty good. Who is it?" Uh, dude, among others, it's YOU. He then said that he'd played on so many different things back then that it was hard to keep up. And we had a laugh and believed him.
20 years ago I thought Steely Dan sounded like a high-end wedding band, but this line up nails the youthful exuberance of the recordings. Virtuoso, yet understated performances all around and Herrington is just killing it!
It seemed like Fagan is so sick of this shit and it really shows that he is hating every minute of it but I am so grateful that he still comes out and gives us whatever he can that’s plenty enough for me. It’s always been known that Steely Dan hated Touring even from their very first tour they quit in the middle of it and never toured again for eight years! By the way their minimum booking fee is 200,000+ a rider that runs about 70,000 and kind
Steely Dan is part of musical DNA and all of their work is dear to me, but why - no offence intened - does Donald Fagan allways give me the impression that he is pain and discomfort performing. He seesm to be suffering some ailment even when performing his own best work.
Wow. This just shows how nobody can play Steely Dan like Walter Becker. This guy's obviously talented, but Walter was just in another league. And made it look easy
Third time for us at the Bowl with Steely Dan… Obviously, first time without Becker. Missed his presence for sure but we wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Such a great show!
Listening to this song without Larry Carlton is like listening to mid-70’s Joni Mitchell without Jaco Pastorious. It’s just bollocks. Yeah, that works.
Get rid of the white chick as the background singer she's just there as a job and she's not even having fun like the black chicks at least they are smiling and enjoying themselves
See kids. Real musicians.
He's got a Ray Charles vibe going on..
Right!?! I was thinking the exact same thing!

Damn that line up. Herrington killing the solos and Rogers on the rhythms. Damn
It's great to have the magnficent Steely Dan back--thank you for sharing this!
An immortal guitar solo!

WOW. Donald's voice has gotten much better live.👌
Lol. Ok......
we need a comb on stage stat!
Yes it has. It got better throughout the 2010s.
Donald sounding good. They’re are just soooo good.
💕 💕 Steely Dan forever!!
My best great all time jazzy SD !! Got all their album's collection in my library !! Greetings from Jazzman KUL.
I came to hear a great song.. live performance. I stayed to see Carolyn Leonhart singing background vocals. She is breathtaking.
We were there and had a blast. Thank you for posting this. Very well done!
Thanks for posting The Don.....knocking out a great song while making his Ray Charles faces....
As usual , Wonderful and amazing ❤️❤️❤️😘🥰👍
Is there gas in the car? YES, there is gas in the car! (Only Steely Dan could pull that off!)
Good of Donald to wear his best hoodie for the show!
This show was a great one!
Wow, music with no autotune, what a concept.
thank you Kathy, excellent job of it, vid and sound are very good
Just love...so great. Thanks!
Is that Carolyn Leonhart at the back'still looking fabulous too ?
yes, she is not only a great singer but a real beauty as well....classy lady
Fantastic!❤

Herrington was there 20 years ago too, at least at times.
Adam Rogers playing rhythm guitar - wow
muito lindo essa galera!!!!!!
The diamond with the peral
Keith Carlock doing Bernard Purdie justice. So much pocket.
Amazing……
Is that Keith Carlock on drums? and Jon Herington doing the solo, Freddy Washingtonon bass..? let me know guys : )
oh yeah...
For Owsley
Didn't these guys open for Megadeth about 5 or 6 years ago?
Seeing them in about 4 hrs
Incredible. They should move it down to G, just for Donald’s vocal cords.

It isn't Steely Dan without Walter Beker...
Such a timely question -- is there gas in the car?… *_is there gas in the car?_*
Until recently I was singing "Get along, get along thin China man!". And then, "King Charlemagne" and just now realize it's "Kid Charlemagne"!
Who's the guitar guy
Jon Harrington, my spelling may be off
@@fasttl yeah I didn't recognize him. I guess he's getting older.
@@palmsofdestin1 we all are....lol
@@palmsofdestin1 Jon Herington has been with the band since January 2000.
The thing I like about Donald is that he's such a sharp dresser. (Roll sarcastic eyes here)
Background vocals, too bright and abrupt! Messing with perfection.
Poor Walter…
Everyone is getting very grey haired, including the audience - and me!
i want to say play the guitar like the original
Ray Charles is that you ?
Hahaha !!! 😆
who let them escape the old folks home

Adam Rogers and Jon Herrington are both very accomplished guitarists, the music doesn't suffer any to me .................... RIP Walter

Once upon a time, it was Larry Carlton for the solo
Walter was great but Herrington is a better player, Rogers is about on par with Becker IMO
Listening to this song without Larry Carlton is like listening to mid-70’s Joni Mitchell without Jaco Pastorious. It just ain’t right.
Bollocks

Get someone that can play the real Larry Carlton solo. 🫤
