Can this technique be used on buttercream after it has become set and firm?
Can you do a simmer effect on butter icing?

Do you do the fondant extra thick when covering then ?
Nina j cleeve you need to roll it thicker than normal as you’ll not get the effect else

Hi, Carol. What is the effect of working it upside down?
If do it without turning your cake the icing will be pushed up and won’t be flat
Is this royal icing or fondent ?
In the title, it says sugar paste, but I've seen it done with fondant.
