Jones even made a sequel titled "Rabbit Rampage" which feature Bugs as the punching bag for once! They also made a video game based on the cartoon for the Nintendo DS in 2007. AND it was also spoofed in the Animaniacs (reboot) episode "Yakko Amakko".
"Duck Amuck" truly is a masterpiece! The way it gives us a glimpse behind the scenes of the animation process is both innovative and entertaining. And that ending? Pure perfection! It's a classic that never fails to delight audiences. Thank you again for your support.
Daffy: Gorgeous, isn't it? Don't be afraid. Get it appraised .. any place Bugs Bunny tosses the diamond. Daffy: Proud Punk! One of my favorites that make me laugh no matter how many times I watch it.
It's definitely "Duck Amuck" , Daffy's interactions with his environment are very hilarious. Have a happy friday morning, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
In Duck Amuck, it's just amazing. The animation is so on point and perfect for a 7 minute short. I mean, look at the mirror while he's the... whatever that is.
I actually skipped to the end since I knew that there could only be one choice. Duck Amuck is not only the ultimate Daffy cartoon, but may be the greatest Looney Tunes short ever made.
Great choices for this top ten best Daffy Duck cartoons my all time favorite is Daffy the Commando the gags are hilarious and I love commander - Von Vulture's poor sidekick Schultz constantly getting hit on the head with a mallet and Daffy shouting “PUT OUT THOSE LIGHTS ” still makes me laugh every time 👍❤️😂
Here are my favourites: "Beanstalk Bunny" "Duck Amuck" "Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century" "It's Nice to Have a Mouse Around the House" "Robin Hood Daffy" "Snow Excuse" "Yankee Doodle Daffy"
My favorite Daffy Duck moment Edit: hey! You included it at 11:37 thanks MsMojo! Daffy: That’s strange. All of a sudden I don’t feel like myself. Well I feel alright. (The cartoonist draws a mirror) Daffy: But I- (Daffy looks in the mirror) Daffy: I, uh… (Daffy realizes that he’s been turned into a crazy creature with a screwball flag tail) Daffy: EEK!!! YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT!!!!
I’m gonna be real I’m a Daffy Duck person more than a Bugs Bunny person regardless of the iteration (Zanny and Hyperactive Daffy or Greedy "Center of Attention" Daffy). Honestly as shown with Cartoon Network’s "The Looney Tunes Show" block from 2001-2003, _Space Jam, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, The Bugs and Daffy Show_ and Cartoon Network’s 20th Anniversary commercial I still noticed that just like with the Scrappy Doo hate Warner Bros. still like to make fun of Daffy Duck not getting applause and love and getting the "short end of the stick" with everyone favoring Bugs Bunny especially during the 20th anniversary commercial Bugs asked everyone what was their favorite Daffy Duck cartoon which resulted in most of them being silent and in disgust much to Daffy’s Chagrin.
Daffy Duck may live in Bugs's shadow, But these cartoons are proof that even Daffy has had his moments to shine! I mean I know I'm just stating the obvious, But it's still a fact.
The one with the radio quiz show, pairing him with Porky. The one pairing him with the Tasmanian devil, flipping the fomrula at the end, when he goes nuts because the devil grabs one of his dollar bills. "It's mine, all mine, hand it over, what's mine is mine!"
My all-time favorite Daffy Duck short is "Daffy Duck's Southern Exposure" (1942). I still remember the song when the wolf and weasel feed Daffy with beans.
No mention of "Book Revue"? That's my all time favorite! Mel Blanc gave his best performance as Daffy Duck, singing the Red Riding hood story, in rapid fire scat! "You can't do this to me, I'm a citizen, see!"
Some of my favorite Daffy Duck cartoons are The Super Snooper (the first ever Looney Tunes cartoon I ever watched long ago, first one I saw by Robert McKimson, and one of my most favorites), Daffy Duck Hunt (first Porky Pig cartoon I watched), You Were Never Duckier (first Chuck Jones/Merrie Melodies cartoon I ever watched, and the first Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoon in the post-1948 package), Golden Yeggs (first Friz Freleng cartoon I watched), Dime to Retire (first cartoon I watched with Milt Franklyn's music), and A Star Is Bored (first Bugs Bunny cartoon I watched).
He debuted on “Picador Porky” in 1937 and voiced most of the Looney Tunes characters until his death in 1989. One notable character he 'didn't' voice is Elmer Fudd (voiced by Arthur Q. Bryan)
As Chuck Jones once remarked "Bugs is who we wish we could be, Daffy is the one we afraid we are." Personally one of my favorite Daffy cartoons was "My Favorite Duck" where he's tormenting Porky while he's camping. In this Chuck Jones cartoon they use as much facial expressions as they do dialogue, and that makes it all the funnier.
I always enjoyed “Million Hare”, where Daffy and Bugs race for what they think is a prize of million bucks. Daffy wins, only to find out that the prize is a million box. Given that disappointment, he donates his prize to Bugs, only to then be told that each box contains a one dollar bill. When his head slowly morphs into the head of an ass, I used to practically pee myself laughing as a kid.
These are all great shorts. A few others worth mentioning: A Pest in the House--Bellhop Daffy Duck bothers a very tired houseguest who punches hotel manager, Elmer Fudd in the nose to "Pop Goes the Weasel" every time he's annoyed, Boobs in the Woods (not those kind) Porky is trying to paint some outdoor scenery but Daffy shows up to pester him--just because he can. Features the hilarious line, "Do you have a license--to sell hair tonic--to bald eagles--in Omaha, Nebraska?" Deduce, You Say Daffy is Dorlock Holmes and Porky Pig is Watkins. Featuring the Shropshire Slasher! Plane Daffy--a WWII short in which Daffy takes down the femme fatale Nazi spy, Hata Mari. Featuring Daffy at his most badass.
I’d say Bugs Bunny is a clear #1 but Daffy Duck is a worthy competitor. Together, they are unbeatable. “I’m a fiddler crab! Why don’t you shoot me? It’s fiddler crab season!”
I have always been a fan of 1948's "What Makes Daffy Duck." Instead of trying to avoid getting shot by Elmer Fudd, Daffy also has to contend with a hungry fox. After both foes interrupt his shower, Daffy goes into full blown survival mode, pitting the two rivals against each other in gag after gag. Just when he gives one the slip, the other one seems to have the little black duck cornered. Finally through with the whole mess, Daffy disguises himself as a game Warden and puts up a sign saying Duck Season is over and that Fox Season is open, thus leading Elmer to mount a horse and chase the fox over the horizon shouting "Tawwy Ho!" Another great one is the live action hybrid 1940 classic "You Oughta Be In Pictures," where we first catch a glimpse of Daffy's attention-seeking persona. While the animators go on lunch break, Daffy convinces Porky Pig to quit his job with cartoons and to go into feature films, ultimately cajoling him to go right up to Leon Schlesinger's office and ask Leon to tear up and throw away his contract. Once Porky leaves, Daffy slips into Leon's office to try to steal Porky's contract. Meanwhile, Porky gets no luck trying to break into features, running afoul of not only a security guard but also a director before accidentally driving onto a set of a Western. Deciding to check and see if Leon will hire him back, Porky walks in on Daffy still trying schmooze Leon into giving him a contract. He leads Daffy outside and beats the shinola out of him before fishing his contract out of the waste basket and tells Leon he was only fooling. Leon reveals to Porky that he didn't really tear up his contract because he knew he would be back. Porky returns back to work, and the cartoon ends with a bandaged up Daffy trying to talk Porky into quitting again, but this time Porky just throws a tomato at the little black duck. Also, I'm kinda surprised none of the infamous "Hunting Trilogy" shorts made the list, or at least garner an honorable mention.
Ali Baba Bunny & Robin Daffy are two of my absolute favorites as well as Duck Amuck. Daffy’s slapstick is so on par in those & of course his squabble with Bugs over hunting season will be endlessly quotable for decades onward
3 Daddy Duck shorts from Clampett but "Book Revue" isn't one of them.... featuring Daffy's "I'm not Danny Kaye but an unreasonable facsimile" scat bit and Clampett's wildest wild take where Daffy turns into a giant eye. I also can't believe there wasn't one of the Bugs/Elmer/Daffy shorts.
Yep, Duck Amuck is probably a very unique cartoon I have ever encountered. I'm not sure about the rest, but I always love where Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny arguing what season is it.
This was great, thank you! I still laugh at these hysterically, just like I did the first time I saw them as a kid.. There was a Bugs Bunny cartoon just like “Duck amuck” only Elmer Fudd was the animator. 😊
Daffy Duck has always been my favorite Looney Tunes character! He is pretty much me almost all the time. Violent, crazy, greedy, envious; the list can go on.
I know the hunting trilogy is split between Bugs, Daffy, and Elmer, but Daffy is the true star of each one. Oh, I live just a couple hours from Walla Walla, Washington. When he is a salesman, hearing him say that always cracks me up!
Can't remember the name of the episode, when Daffy is working for Porky's western canteen, then Daffy decides to open his own, when he dressed in drag as a French singer was hilarious
Daffy Duck has always been one of my most favorite cartoon characters of all time. I always sympathize with him on how he never seems to get a win. The poor Duck deserves a well earned break once in a while.
Duck Amuck is definitely my favourite, bit I love the Duck Season Rabbit Season trilogy, and also the one where he and Bugs are in the cave and Daffy goes nuts over the treasure. One of the best moments for sure

"The Scarlet Pumpernickel" is sheer genius; it and "What's Opera, Doc?" perfectly illustrate how the Looney Tunes franchise wove the classics into childhood for millions of kids, yet was funny to adults... KDM
Daffy Duck is my favorite Looney Tunes character. Duck Amuck and The Great Piggy Bank Robbery are not only my favorite episodes he is in, but my favorite episodes ever.
"Baby Bottleneck", "Drip-along Daffy", "Show Biz Bugs", "The Scarlet Pumpernickel", "Robin Hood Daffy", "Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century", "The Abominable Snow Rabbit", and "Duck Amuck" will always be my Childhood Classics!
My faves are The Wise Quacking Duck and the one when he married a lady duck with a bratty kid. "Ain't he kinda cute?" "Yeah, cute like a stomach pump!"
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤ number one is one of my favorite ones ever
I'm actually disappointed you didn't put 'The Ducksters' in the list. That is Daffy and Porky at their finest. Plus, it also has one of Daffys' most memorable quotes, 'So you must pay the penalty'
@johnzubak392 Daffy: Oh well I suppose fair is fair, here's your pot Jack Porky: Uh bbbut my name isn't Jack Daffy: It's not! Oh I'm sorry this pot is intended for Jack, jackpot get it. Your name isn't Jack, so you must pay the penalty!

Duck Amuck, no question
Commando Daffy
I love how his voice gets more fed up when he’s swinging tree to tree and knocking himself stupid
I think it's just him getting concussed!
"Yokes, and away " THUD!!!
The part for me that's the funniest is when he's swinging with that giant ball-and-chain thing and slams right into the side of the cliff!
@@m3rrys0ngstr3ss Yes, it is him getting concussed. He's not fed up with crashing into trees, he's just getting more delirious with each impact.
Watch out for that tree!
Daffy Duck will never fail to make me laugh 😂

"Duck Amuck" is phenomenal. I love how much it breaks the 4th wall and shows the animation process. And the ending is perfect.

Daffy: You're desssssspicable for not uploading this video a long time ago
Bugs: Sorry, Daff.
“Ducking the Devil” also deserves a mention, the only Daffy short to feature Taz.
Ducking the Devil is my all-time favorite Daffy cartoon. "Like I said, I'm a coward, but I'm a greeeedy little coward."
I'm rich! I'm rich! I'm fabulously wealthy! I'm comfortably well-off! I'm socially secure!

"Help! Help! Save me, pal! HELLLP!"

Bugs Bunny tosses the diamond.
Daffy: Proud Punk!
One of my favorites that make me laugh no matter how many times I watch it.

Duck Amuck still makes me laugh so hard to this day. I wish "Wabbit season, Duck season" made the HM list
Surprised that it didn’t. Oh well. It made the list for Bugs Bunny
Bugs: "whats with you?"
Daffy: "I cant help it, I'm a greedy slob"

Chuck Jones really was a phenomenal talent!

Indeed not.

Crazy to think how good the animations of these are so good they even look way better than cartoons today over 60 years later

Especially when a lot of the laughs came from Daffy getting shot and having to put his bill in the right place.
11:21 I KNEW Duck Amuck would be Number 1! It's not just the greatest Daffy Duck cartoon, but I consider it the GREATEST animated short of all time!
"The Great Piggy-Bank Robbery" has always been my fave, with "Duck Amuck" a close second.
The Great Piggy-Bank Robbery is my favorite too.
Classic Daffy!!! My personal favorite: “Duck Amuck “. That particular one always cracks me up 🤣🤣🤣
I always preferred Daffy over Bugs.
Him singing while falling down the hill in Robin Hood Daffy gets me every time.
When my sister is telling her cat how much she loves him, I chime in with, And you will hug him and squeeze him and call him George.
I’m gonna be real I’m a Daffy Duck person more than a Bugs Bunny person regardless of the iteration (Zanny and Hyperactive Daffy or Greedy "Center of Attention" Daffy).

He’s without a doubt one of my top five favorite Looney Tunes Characters.
Daffy's one of those characters who always gets outsmarted, especially when Bugs Bunny outsmarts him
Best cartoon duck ever!
@MrRonald327 even better than Duck Man! Or Darkwing Duck. However, Donald Duck runs a close second. Only because he's not looney, just hot-headed.
*Duck Amuck* may not have gotten an Oscar nomination, but it did get a video game for the Nintendo DS.
The one with the radio quiz show, pairing him with Porky.
The one pairing him with the Tasmanian devil, flipping the fomrula at the end, when he goes nuts because the devil grabs one of his dollar bills. "It's mine, all mine, hand it over, what's mine is mine!"
Daffy Duck in Hollywood is an underrated Tex Avery cartoon.
In fact that was his last Daffy short that Tex directed.
Duck Amok is so great. You should also list Stuper Duck!
Duck Amok is the absolute funniest.
The Wise Quacking Duck from 1943 is one of my personal favorites.
My all-time favorite Daffy Duck short is "Daffy Duck's Southern Exposure" (1942). I still remember the song when the wolf and weasel feed Daffy with beans.
Albeit with different lyrics but the song parodied was The Latin Quarter.
Yes, yes and YES!!! This is brilliant. I grew up on classic Looney Tunes and LOVE this Daffy tribute. Thank you Ms Mojo!
The great piggy bank robbery is my favorite Daffy Duck
Also Bob Clampett's final Warner Bros cartoon.
No mention of "Book Revue"? That's my all time favorite! Mel Blanc gave his best performance as Daffy Duck, singing the Red Riding hood story, in rapid fire scat!
"You can't do this to me, I'm a citizen, see!"
That was so funny❤😂🤣🤣
Boobs In The Woods is the funniest Daffy and Porky cartoon. The old man in the mountains bit makes me lol everytime.
Same! "I'm the old man in the mountains and I don't want them painted." 🤣
My absolute favorite Looney Toon.😂😅

Bryan)
His Bitter Half should have made the list. Daffy’s facial expression after he says “Bang, pling” outsmarting Wentworth, still cracks me up.
Daffy's tune finished second to Bugs on the list, but there were 8 of Daffy's cartoons on the full list - more than any other character. 🦆🦆🦆🦆

When you get George Lucas' approval, like Chuck Jones did with "Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century," you know you've done something right!
Duck amuck is gold
Duck Amuck is definitely my favourite, bit I love the Duck Season Rabbit Season trilogy, and also the one where he and Bugs are in the cave and Daffy goes nuts over the treasure. One of the best moments for sure
Daffy was always my favorite

Gotta love classics.
Looney Tunes has the greatest characters. I love Bugs and Daffy’s rivalry . Daffy Duck is too hilarious 😂
"The Scarlet Pumpernickel" is sheer genius; it and "What's Opera, Doc?" perfectly illustrate how the Looney Tunes franchise wove the classics into childhood for millions of kids, yet was funny to adults... KDM
"Duck Amuck" is my favorite Daffy flick with "Robin Hood Daffy" being second ("Yikes, and away!!" six times).
Daffy Duck is my favorite Looney Tunes character. Duck Amuck and The Great Piggy Bank Robbery are not only my favorite episodes he is in, but my favorite episodes ever.
My favorite Daffy Duck cartoons are "Duck Amuck" and "Robin Hood Daffy". 🙂 They always have me rolling on the floor with laughter! 🤣
The "Duck Tracy" episode is funny too especially when Daffy tries to call himself and realizes it and Mel as the villains too is great.
I can't pick any of them. They're all amazing. I can't get over his laugh.
One of my top 3 all-time favorite characters from Looney Tunes still to this day.
@johnzubak392 Daffy: Oh well I suppose fair is fair, here's your pot Jack
Porky: Uh bbbut my name isn't Jack
Daffy: It's not! Oh I'm sorry this pot is intended for Jack, jackpot get it. Your name isn't Jack, so you must pay the penalty!
