  • I bring you to a quick job with me today. Customer had a rotted power pole (tree was holding up the old pole and power line) I removed the tree and put them up a new pole.

So cool to see these tree cutting videos. So relaxing to hear the motor going. Lol
We still have a tree stump at my mom's house. The guy who cut the tree does not have a large trimmer and also didn't want to buy a new chain. Stump is still producing small growth and roots still alive. Need to see what else we can do to finish getting it to dry up.

I call it chainsaw therapy. haha My whole life since I was a little kid I have been obsessed with chainsaws. I made a video a while back of a few methods to remove a stump. One that i've seen homeowners have good luck with is drilling a bunch of holes in the stump and pouring a chemical stump removal tool sold at local home improvement stores, it rots the stump in a few years to where you can just kick it / hit it with a hammer and chunks of it break off.

Cutting down a tree - 1. climb 40 feet into the air over a live power line ! NOPE ! Me - "Hello, Earl's Tree Trimming ?!" 😊

haha yes. To be fair I killed power to the line. The pain in the butt about that job is the post that the wire was on was rotted and we had to pull a rope around to keep it standing so we could work. I then replaced the post.

I had one worse than that, the power comnpany (PGE) eventually cut it down

You got lucky with that one, i've never personally tried to get the power company to do anything. But a lot of customers I have has asked them multiple times with no results. One lady I work for has a magnolia tree with a power line touching it, every time the wind blows it arcs and they won't even come out for that. haha!

My father in law had a neighbor who had a blocks circuit breaker on a pole in his back yard. They started to complain when once a month a service person had to come out and reset it. The last time they had a power outage the neighbor went out and watched the tech use his specialty high voltage insulating fiberglass disconnect pole to reset the circuit breaker. He said to the service person, "Is that all you do?" The circuit breaker was replaced very shortly after that. Hehe.
Maybe something like that might work like calling the non-emergency fire station number to have them take a look at the fire hazard.

I hope that wasn’t poison ivy growing up that tree😳

It wasn't. haha There was a ton at the base when I gave the estimate. Once the estimate was accepted I went and sprayed roundup on it, waited a few weeks, then came back and ripped it all of the tree.

@@reallifetested2605 it doesn’t bother some people but man all I have to do is see it and I break out in rashes and hives I am starting to itch just thinking about it. I remember playing in the woods when I was climbing trees and what not I would break out the next and my mom would lather me down with what seemed like a gallon of calimyne lotion and shove Benadryl down my throat!

It's actually common ivy, or english ivy. And it doesn't have ureshol oil like poison ivy so it's safe to touch.

Seems like you can cut a tree better than you can pour concrete. Perhaps that is just because I do not know much about cutting trees.

I'm surprised i've even learned how to breathe. I'm proud of myself for that one.
